I have been facing this issue since the beginning. No matter what bluetooth audio device I connect, it frequently drops the connection. Sometimes it reconnects automatically, sometimes it's not. The whole process is repeated throughout the usage session.
Interesingly enough, once an audio has started playing (Spotify, Netflix, Chrome audio anything), the drop doesn't occur. It only occurs when nothing is playing.
Problem is, with such drops, I can't start playing something. For example, I connect my bluetooth, go to Spotify and just before I hit the Play button, the connection drops. I need to disable Bluetooth, enable it, disable it again and so on and so forth till I can make it work.
Tried with different bluetooth earphones, same result. Obviously, those same bluetooth devices work fine when connected to some other phone except my Poco X3.
Any help would be highly appreciated
Can confirm Bluetooth has been flaky since the beginning -- also tried in different ROMs and one of the main reasons the POCO X3 isn't my daily driver to date.

Hi all,
Been reasonably happy with the z3 so far but I'm having problems with Bluetooth connectivity, specifically in my car. I'm used to an iphone, which works flawlessly, but the z3 only seems to be able retain a connection for 10 mins before slowly reconnecting. It's become frustrating as it restarts some of my tasker profiles(?).
Has anyone else had similar issues? Are there any known fixes for this?
I've tried turning off stamina, wifi, bluetooth timeout, display timeout, re-pairing my device - nothing has helped!
Cheers,
Russ

The normal Stamina mode (not ultra) won't disconnect any connection just limit background process.
This can be bug in firmware So try to repair it by PC companion
+ and a question; is this happen with another bluetooth devices or just with car?
cause if it happen with car it can be software compatibility & ...
Thanks for the reply. I thought I would update.
I did try checking for firmware updates but I found a different solution shortly after. I downloaded the 'Xperia Z1 Bluetooth Fix' from the google play store, installed it and selected the Tune2Air device (when it was in range). Since then I've had no reconnecting problems! I have no idea what the app has done but it has completely solved the issues I was having. I suggest giving it a go if you are having similar symptoms. :good:

I get this all the time, constant every couple of seconds when connected to my Mercedes Comand unit..
I will download this app and test it out, hopefully it sorts it.
I have Volvo V40 and when I step in my car with my bluetooth on, I see on my Z3 Bluetooth connect and then disconnect. This repeats all the time. When I then disable bluetooth and enable, the problem is gone. I don't know for sure, but what I have see on my car's phone menu, although I get these disconnects on my phone , the disconnects are not noticed by my car. But again, I didn't look into that yet. Do you have similar problems?
Hi all,
Great to know im not crazy bcuz im having the same issues in my toyota as the volvo. My phone automatically tries to pair & sometimes this works flawlessly, yet other times it connects, stalls, then spends an age tring to reconnect & all the while the cars head unit still perceives a connection. What i hav noticed is that i get great connections (fast & from where i left off) when i pause before switching off my car. If i dont pause then i need to manually connect even if the phone says its pairing with my car. Iv come from a nokia n8 which worked flawlessly however i could not control the volume from the phone which i can do from the z3 & i was wondering if the problem could be with either the phone or stereo having conflicting memory of what was last played, volume level , etc. As there must be data stored somewhere on either or both devices.
Look at this page for an explanation of Sony, seems to be a problem from the bluetooth version of the car:
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xper...s-connecting-disconnecting/td-p/853609/page/2
I dont think its necessarily the car as the problem i outlined is resolved if i pause the playing music before cutting power. I should correct an earlier comment. My problem is with playing music from my phones harddrive via a player such as the native music player, vlc music player, music visualiser, etc rather than streaming music so im not sure what peolpe using cloud services or internet radio can do.
Does anyone know why pausing the music before leaving the car is necessary when in my experience using bluetooth 3.0 didnt require this?
I'm not sure when this issue started exactly but I've noticed that when using bluetooth both at home (I have a set of cordless phones with bluetooth link) and when linked to my two automobiles both receiving and initiating calls after a few seconds of conversation the phone suddenly switches to using the microphone and earphone instead of the bluetooth connection. This has occured with wifi on and off...in 3g and 2g areas....while tethering and not....etc....seems to be consistant with the device and I don't recall it doing it in the past so I'm wondering if the most recent 6045i update to ue40 might be part of the problem....in any case I'm looking for suggestions of apps or settings changes that might help with the bluetooth. I should mention I've also had music playing in the car drop at random intervals or at least I stop being able to hear it. This was playing local content so it wasn't a streaming issue.
Is anyone else here having a problem where bluetooth switches to loudspeaker when playing music?
I want to find out if this a general EMUI 8 Android 8 problem or if it is specific to the Mate 10/Pro.
For more details, here is the original issue thread for the Mate 10 Pro:

No Problems,Bluetooth works with headphones as long as you hear
Yes, there is such problem.
Wifi and connectivity speed drops even when Bluetooth module is on, without any devices connected, and becomes hardly usable.
Thus if you intend to use any Bluetooth devices together with WiFi, this is hardly a device for you. This is especially the case if you intend to use any of the smart watches of fitness trackers, that become hardly usable due to the repeated disconnections.
I don't know if this is a EMUI related problem, or not (installing Lineage may void my warranty, and i intend to return the phone), but the problem is quite persistent.

I was looking for some answers to my problem and I think this could be related... As you mentioned, when I have bluetooth connected to my earphones, the wifi connection speed drops a lot. It depends on the router though... I have a Virgin SuperHub 2 (UK) and it drops to 4-10 Mbit/s or so... I have done some test at work with a Netgear 6800 and it something like:
No bluetooth: 90 Mbit/s down / 90 Mbit/s up
Bluetooth connected to earphones but not playing anything: 67 Mbit/s / 90 Mbit/s
Bluetooth connected and reproducing music: 27 Mbit/s / 80 Mbit/s
Just checking the speed tests on my phone with the superHub 2 at home, it drops to 7 Mbit/s if it's connected to bluetooth and at around 100 Mbit/s if it's not...
Is there any software fix for this problem or is it a hardware problem?
Thanks!
I've ended up returning the phone, as I use a pebble watch and a fitbit m the time, and a headset in the gym, and then WiFi became intolerable.
I really liked this phone, but after 10 days of looking for a solution I've ended up returning it.
bluetooth phone calls not working
The problem is bluetooth audio for phone calls isnt working, i tested this
in 3-4 vehicles as initially thought this could be problem in the vehicle.
However i noticed the same issue in all vehicles. So this is definitely not
a vehicle issue. the phone audio on calls isnt routed via the vehicles (pairing is fine) -
however if play a song through a music player on phone, it works fine.
i have tried restarting phone several times and also deleted all pairing
and re-pairing the devices, i deleted the bluetooth data/cache as well but
no success..
Anybody have this issue on the honor view 10 ?

I further tried resetting the network settings, still same problem, hi care diagnostics tell me bluetooth is fine..strange!
I am on B160 and no Problems with Bluetooth or Wifi at same time enabled.I test on 2 Vehicles calls works and play Music with the View 10.I test with Youtube over Wifi with Bose Headset over Bluetooth, all working without any Problem!
Hm, I use BLK-L09 and I didn't notice either of those problems. Bluetooth calls work beautifully with my car's built-in bluetooth thingie and I can use WiFi with no problems while using my Mi Band 3. I use Carbon ROM though
I'm on a BKL-L04. I have not experienced any issue at all with bluetooth. I have an LG Urbane connected all the time. I stream music in home and in my vehicle and bluetooth has never caused me any issue - even with wifi on (and wifi does not slow, at least to my perception). Times when I've used my bluetooth headset, I still haven't had any bluetooth issues. (I came from, and still own, an Honor 8. I could barely leave the room with my headset connected to the Honor 8 before the signal would start dropping. No such problem with the View10. In fact, I have much more range in my house on my headset on the View10 than I did on the 8). My View10 is completely stock, no root.
Sent from my R11 (C738T) using XDA Labs
Hi my problem with bluetooth started all of the sudden , it was working fine all the while - it isnt anything to do with using with wifi.
The problem simply put is bluetooth pairing and song streaming works fine, but through bluetooth phone calls audio isnt working - very strange!

make sure you go into permissions. then mic. Make sure its turned on for carrier services. just found that out this morning
Guys I have a Gionee A1 phone working flawlessly as my secondary phone.
Phone isn't rooted.
Since few months it is acting weird.
When I play Youtube or any online videos on phone connected to a Wifi and audio connected to a BT speaker or BT earphones, the voice is very choppy, skipping, stuttering and disturbing.
Earlier it used to work simply great.
The same earphones and BT speaker works flawlessly on my other phones.
But this doesn't happen when I do the above things on Mobile data connection.
I tried various tricks and solutions as below but none worked...
Factory reset
I upgraded the firmware and also downgraded but the issue still remains.
In Battery optimization do not optimize BT ad YT.
Clear data for both BT and YT and Wifi.
Battery saver mode is disabled.
Browser upgrade/ YT app upgrade etc.
Apart from this, there are no other issues with the phone at all. even calls etc work fine on BT earphones. The camera, battery wifi etc all wok flawlessly.
Is there any conflict arising between BT and Wifi connection within the phone?
I dont have any other wireless devices in my house at all.
Kindly help to resolve this minor looking big issue..
I think there is not much you can do.
From my experience with Bluetooth I can say it always failed for some reason. Like when bt mouse becomes unresponsive/skips when laptop is under load, or bt speakers (in home or in car) having choppy playback for no apparent reason.
The bt connection is so sensitive and it can be disturbed by other radio operated devices.
What you can try is using vlc player for music playback when connected to bt speakers.
I found this most useful, as it uses buffer in best way to prevent skipping/choppy playback.
Second idea is to unpair/pair your device and it should work fine, for some time at least...
Third thing you could experiment on is in Android settings, go to Developer options and change settings in the bt section (bt codec, bt sample rate, channel mode) to see if there are any improvements.
Anyone else finding that the Bluetooth audio can be a bit hit and miss, the audio has just fully cut out on me, but it displays as if it's still connected and playing via the headphones. I had no audio through either headphones, switching BT off and on, and rebooting headsets didn't solve it. Rebooting the phone brought the audio back, phew!
Out of the two headsets I have, My cheap Sony WI-C310's seem to work better, Using my jabra halo smart headset, it doesn't seem to connect media audio if it's also allowed to handle calls. I have to toggle calls off and just media to use Spotify with the headset (this could just be that headset being weird, think it got discontinued for not being great)
Anyone else having BT audio issues?
I've got a Huawei smart band 6 connected at the same time if that's a factor, it wasn't a problem on my original Nord though.
I have been facing the same issue for a while now, it's pretty random. There are times where it works perfectly and other times it either doesn't connect at all, or has a very weird delay, where it's fine in the beginning of say a video and gets a delay mid way through it. There are times where it only connects to one earphone, just issues all around. Also am using the oneplus buds z2, so honestly would expect it to work flawlessly with a oneplus device. The earphones work fine with other devices.
I've been getting random drop outs.
Both with connectivity with my car infotainment system and my cycle computer.
When I had my OP7Pro, never experienced anything of the sort when connected to these two same devices.
I've also tried enabling Bluetooth Gabeldorsche in the developer settings, and that didn't make a difference.
Will try changing the Bluetooth AVRCP version to see if that improves anything (currently set to the default of 1.5).
Has anyone else played with those settings and tested the impact?
Tested with 3-4 Bluetooth devices and no drop outs.
I notice that when I put the device in aereo mode the Bluetooth remain active, but in the latest days this problem doesn't happen anymore, maybe was a bug of the first fw, and after last update they have fixed?
