Question Turbo Charge Question - Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G (peux)/POCO X4 Pro 5G (veux)

I have never used any fast chargers or fast chargeable phones. My last phone was Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and I would basically attach it to my laptop at night and let it charge overnight. On this device (Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5g/peux) with turbo charge the phone fills up very fast and I love it. However I want to know if the charger or the phone is capable of variable charging and stop pumping 67W once the device is full. Atm I stay on my toes while the phone charges so I can quickly unplug it. I want to know if its okay to let the phone stay plugged in as long as its for a little while after reaching 100%.

Hi, I checked using ampere app and it stopped charging quickly after reaching 100%
If you're like me who let's his phone charge over night you can enable the hidden optimized charging feature, it slows down your rate of charge depending on when u plug it in (it learns from your behaviour) but still makes sure ur phone is charged within the time that you'd need it
if you still need more charging tweaks i suggest using Advanced Charging Controller, with it you can change almost everything but it requires root access
edit: don't try to plug your phone into a laptop for charging unless you definitely need it because this huge of a battery is gonna take entire days to charge

I mean I charged my 4000mah battery using a battery bank. How do I enable the hidden charging feature? Why the hell is it hidden and why am I playing Indiana Jones in the lost city of miui?

Ah With a charging bank it's great,
Sadly I'm not 100% sure if the device has the feature, i can say that my older device did (it was a Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro)
(I can't tell you because I'm no longer using Miui...)
You can check if it has that
this is a tutorial on how to access it, ignore what the guy is talking about since you might not understand his language.
He is showing it for a different device but it should be the same for this one hopefully
also don't worry since you've bought a Xiaomi device you'll become an epic gamer now
Xiaomi has several inbuilt games like
Kernel Sources Hunter - This is a game where you have to track and hunt down kernel sources for the device because Xiaomi cannot bother to release kernel sources themselves so that we can get actual development started

How to charge the phone without harming the battery

Hello XDA,
I've bought s8 recently and I have a question about how should I charge the phone. Before s8 I had z3 and one m7 and I was charging them arbitrary like %45 to %75 etc. Their battery died pretty easyly and closing once it hits under %20 - %25. So I thought I was doing it wrong but when I searched the internet I saw that charging phone arbitrary give no harm at all. Is it true? How should I charge my phone?
You should plug it in and charge it when needed. Either using the original charger and cable that shipped with the phone, or a high quality replacement. Alternately, you can use a wireless charging pad to charge it.
Turning off fast charging may also extend the life of your battery. (It will obviously mean it will take longer to charge the battery).
Extra note:
You don't need to do anything extra, modern devices are well suited to be charged whenever you feel like it.
Plug it in when it needs charging, unplug it when it's done and/or you need to leave. You don't need to overthink it and monitor the finer details. It's a phone.
You are over thinking this. Just like a lot of people who obsess about battery e-peen. I got the S8 to save myself. I was in that rabbit hole, I went from enjoying smartphones to worrying about why my phone cannot perform as well as the ohers.
You plug it when it needs a charge. You take it off when it's done. It's a battery, it's gonna suffer wear and tear whether or not you baby it. It's gonna run its course and you will probably buy a new phone even before that happens.
My phones have a 2 year life cycle and Ben then they are still great as hand me downs to the family who don't care to buy their own.

Only charge between 20-80%
Don't quick charge
Don't wireless charge
Angle the phone at a 45 degree angle when charging, this will allow the new electrons to slide naturally to the bottom of the battery so it fills up properly
Submerge the phone in cold water to keep the temperature of the phone cool while charging
With these 5 simple steps your phones battery will last 1% longer!

Or not at all lol.

will using the 6x while charging does any harm ??

can using the phone while charging can harm charging port or battery ? im asking this because i was using some days ago my galaxy note 3 like this one day and it stopped charging and was dead..
I don't know about harming the port but, it will definitely hurt the battery, So I don't recommend doing this except when it is an emergency

Note 3 was launched 4 years ago. Battery would have gone bad, you would have noticed the degradation.
In some phones, especially those which charge very fast, the temperature can rise to a high level which reduces the life of the battery, but should not impact much if you are using a phone for 1-3 years. Though one needs to stop charging / using the phone if the temperature reaches very high (say above 60 degree Celsius).
Honor 6X charges very slowly while using and the temperature doesn't rise as much (as compared to other phones), hence that impact is likely going to be lower.
Generally it's not a good idea to use whil charging all the time.
I strongly suggest you to use the phone while is under charge the less that you can, especially being careful about using it in combination with mobile data/GPS services/internet browsing and apps that requires particularly usage of RAM. This because the li-polymer battery plugged on charge with the original charger of 6X, that supports fast charge and so will "push" inside it a stronger power than a normal charger, will almost immediately reach a voltage of 4.1-4.2V to ensure the fast charge service and this is the limit that you want to maintain for being sure that the battery will last the longest time. Using it under charge with mobile data or others mentioned above, will easily overcome the 4.2V limit to 4.3V or even more, depending on what you'll be using, and so the ions capacity will be reduced faster, letting them contain less energy than the original capacity while time passes by.

It definitely does hurt the battery.
I try to never use it, except when in emergency
It doesn't but thats not a good practice in general. With continuous usage, it may get more heated that is not good for battery, phone and eventually you.
Because charging itself will hear up the phone and using it may increase further so avoid it buddy.

Hehe may be. I will take time to charge in morning or in night during dinner for 20-40% and then in morning for another 40-50% or if wake up early then may be i charge full 100%. Anything above 80 ia good for entire if couldn't charge full still have 20-30% left when reach home in night.

Almost the same here; i limit the charge to 80% with Battery Charge Limit, i wake up at morning with 79-78%, i go at work and when i come back at evening usually i have around 55-60% left due various jumps here on XDA, internet browsing, some calls and a few messages. When i go to bed i plug in the phone just for a mid-hour so it can reach 80% again, then i remove it from charge and so on.

Fast charging using normal adapter?

As we all know, the charger xiaomi provided in the box does not support fast charging, although it is quite good. For fast charging we have to use different adapters or powerbanks that support it.
Yesterday when I was using my normal charger, it suddenly showed quick charge and two lightning symbols in the top right corner, which indicates fast charging, that I usually get when using my mi powerbank.
First I thought it was a software flaw but sure enough, my phone was charging at a much faster rate and was heating up similar to when I charge using powerbank.
Unfortunately when I removed the charger and reinserted it, the phone charges at it's normal rate, and I've been unsuccessfully trying to repeat it but it's not happening.
My device is completely unmodified, stock unrooted rom and bootloader locked.
I think this means that the normal adapter might be capable of fast charging but xiaomi has disabled it, something worth looking into.
Also I know the phone charges quite fast below 50%, I saw this effect while phone was at 69% and reached 72% in barely 3 minutes or something.
Unfortunately I did not have the presence of mind to take photos as proof.
first of all if you are using charger which comes in box with the phone, its not a fast charger its only 5V2A.
2nd it can't charge at pace compared to fast chargers as it can only provide 2A at max or it may be faulty
3rd it may be software bug just showing quick charge
and in the end you said it charged from 69 to 72 in 3 min. i can say its not fast charging because my charger 5V2A which came in box also charges at same speed you are saying. it normally takes around 1 min for 1% increase but depends on various factors like load being used currently by the phone.
sometimes when data is off or battery saver os on it charges more quickly as consumption is also less so it charges fast.

It was 2% in one minute, I've attached a ss from telegram group of violet where I reported this for proof. My data and wifi were on, and I've enabled always switch on data for faster switching in developer settings.
Even now it's currently happening, but the rate is very slow, I think it's probably a software bug like you say, any idea why this is happening?
Edit 1: That Telegram ss is from the day where I first created this thread, not today.

Issue : OnePlus 8T Charging stops at 75%

I have had the phone for a couple of days now. charged it 4 times. all 4 times I charged it with the 65W warp charge 65 brick. I cant find any battery optimisation settings that can cause this issue. the Phone has some option that kicks in and stops the charging at 75% . i switched off both battery optimisation options just to check and still it didn't work. it wont charger even with the older dash or warp charger so its most likely a android 11 oxygen os optimisation that I cant find any option to turn off. pls HELP! it only charges to a 100% with the phone turned off.
You say this is only happening when the phone is turned on? It sounds like some type of battery protection mechanism designed to minimize battery wear while the phone is on. Some people like to keep their phone on a charger for hours at a time while using Hot Spot for example. Some say that this is bad for the battery??? I do this, but not using a charger, but rather using USB into a charging port on my laptop...which is a very slow charging option. My 8t arrives tomorrow so I will have to see if it is happening on mine. When using the rapid charger while the phone is off, when it hits 100% it will top charging...but if the phone is on it will "keep" charging which may be bad using this new high speed charging. Just a guess on my part. Many times there are settings available on these phones that are very hard to find. I would do a search in the settings app using whatever different words you can think of to see if there is something that can be adjusted.

yes I completely understand the implementation of this feature and its absolutely a great thing. its just that I m unable to find a switch to turn it off nor do I even find any mention of it in the battery optimisation options. there has to be a way to turn it off.

There is an "Optimized Charging" setting on mine. It's not adjustable...only on or off. Maybe that has something to do with your issues?
#TeamRMA
I don't have that issue with mines
Is there a message on the notification centre? I remember my device cut the charging at 80% saying that it will slowly charge to 100 in a few hours to protect battery life. I believe this is with the battery optimization turned on.
If there's nothing similar then try to go for a replacement or take it to OnePlus support.
Battery Optimization <> Charging Optimization.

Question Steady charging not working

I'm on the latest .151 build and I think steady charging does not work for me.
Maybe I didn't get the functionality or I misunderstood something but it doesn't matter what charging mode I use, it always charges incredible fast unless I use my old charger.
When I plug my device and go to the steady/ultra steady settings it claims it would take as long as a 18 watt charger and would take ~1h until it's full. However it mostly only takes around 35 minutes (I don't go from 0% to 100%). When I use my old (Oneplus 5 or Nexus 5) charger it takes around 1.5h.
Is there a way to tell if I load the phone via hypercharge or steady charge? Forum mods mentioned both share the same animation and no matter if you use hyper or steady it's always listed as hyper charge in the lock screen.
As soon as I plug my device all notifications appear claiming it would be ultra steady and scheduled.
So my questions
- how can I tell if it's working?
- does it work for you?
- would be using my old charger a better alternative?
- how long takes ultra steady for you?
Things I've already tried
- I did a factory reset
- cleared all caches of Powermaster app
- restarted the phone multiple times
I am on .151 as well, and use the steady charging feature without issue. I typically plug it in around 30% give or take a little bit, and let it charge to 80% with the limiter. Usually takes 25-30 mins to complete this. I was skeptical at first as to whether or not it was working as intended, but I have a USB gauge which verified it was indeed working. I will run it again the next time I charge to give you the exact information, but as I recall it was approximately 16.9w at about 2 amps.
Thank you very much for your answer. So you use steady - not ultra steady?
Because my experience is nearly the same I plug it at ~25/30% until 80% and ~55% in ~30 minutes seems pretty damn fast for a 6000mAh battery.
Especially when I look at the settings when I charge my phone it shows ultra steady === 18w charger but when I really use my old 18w charger it takes waaaaaay longer. That's why I was so confused.
I would be really really glad if you could help me understand if it works as it should or not. I expected a charging time of 1.5h or so to be honest

I do use the ultra steady charging option. I popped it on for a minute to get the read out. I am going to kill the phone sometime this weekend and measure capacity with the device and see what it says.
Ignore the other readings on there for now as I didn't reset them before taking that pic.
I see, thank you very much.
So it indeed charges (compared to other/older phones) extremely fast even on ultra steady - at least in my opinion.
Why are you going to kill the phone O.O?
You don't like it?

I meant I'm going to let the battery die completely then use the USB tester to confirm battery capacity.
I really like the phone and plan on keeping it barring any issues
So I let the phone die and did a full charge from 0%-100%. I did it with the phone turned on. It appears to be charging at the claimed 18w the whole time. Next time I do it I will do it with the phone off. The mah didn't get captured properly for sure though.
For the first 3% it did charge at a speedy rate, which I did include a screen shot of. Once I turned the phone on that rate was never seen again.
