Redmi Note 11 bootloop after custom ROM install - General Questions and Answers

Hi, this is my first post in XDA, so sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section.
I recently got a Redmi Note 11 and today I was going to install KomodoOS in it. I did as follows:
First thing I did was to unlock the bootloader, which seems to have worked fine (I can see the open lock icon alongside the Mi logo when it powers on).
I then flashed TWRP (from here https://www.getdroidtips.com/twrp-recovery-redmi-note-11/). When I first tried the command fastboot flash recovery_a twrp.img, I got an error telling me that recovery_a_a doesn't exist, same for recovery_b (which gave me error that partition recovery_b_a didn't exist). I found on Google I could boot into twrp (fastboot boot twrp.img) and then flash twrp itself (Advanced->Flash recovery), which I did and got no error messages. I booted up the system just normal, rebooted into recovery by issuing adb reboot recovery and it got me back into TWRP. So it seems it was installed successfully.
Lastly, while the phone was on TWRP I copied the rom file into the root directory with adb push komodo-version.zip komodo.zip, clicked on Install, selected komodo.zip then confirmed the installation. It took a few minutes (file is 1.3GB) and it completed with a few errors, but at the top there was the message Install successful.
Then I wiped Dalvik and rebooted the system, but now I'm stuck at a bootloop where it goes to the "No command" screen and reboots. I tried holding volume up+power and volume up while reconnecting the USB but to no avail, can't seem to get out of the loop. Also tried spamming adb devices and fastboot devices on pc but can't connect to the phone.
I'm now a bit desperate, since there's (surprisingly?) not much about this phone out there, and I don't know anything that could be done. Is there still hope?

Draining battery and directly going into fastboot as soon as plugging in works or not?

.

dont trust getdroidtip , search rom on xda instead

In Shaomi "No Command" error means system partition has been destroyed. You most likely need to Reflash MIUI using >Mi Flash Tool<.
So your issue is that you cant boot into TWRP? Also, have you tried Power + Vol(-) to get into Fastboot mode. You can also try PC softwares like >Reiboot-For-Android.exe< to boot to recovery or bootloader.
>If you have TWRP no need to use ADB push, just use USB OTG to flash ZIP<

Lost TWRP and root after update to MIUI 10

Hello,
I have a Mi Mix 3, MIUI global 10.2 stable, 10.2.2.0 PEEMIXM.
I managed to root, install TWRP and gcam after a few days of trying.
* Two days ago I updated from phone settings (About phone, Check updates ...)
* I lost both root and TWRP.
* I tried exactly the previous methods to root and phone stuck at booting (three dots flicking on the screen) - via PC / adb / fastboot.
* After that, I reset phone to factory settings and try again - boot in fastboot, try to flash TWRP and I get this error message: error cannot load TWRP.img file (not available or missing).
I also mention:
1. Phone was already rooted by the same procedure
2. Phone is unlocked
3. Dev options / USB debugging check
4. I renamed TWRP.img with recovery.img
5. I even try "TWRP" without extension ".IMG" (last week before the update I succeeded this way - no .img in the name of the file)
Please help
I need something so that I can root phone again AND won't delete TWRP and root after next update.
Thx very very much.
Any software update on this phone will overwrite TWRP if it has a recovery partition image, which most Xiaomi updates do have. There is a way to block it from getting overwritten by booting the phone, which has been implemented in the latest versions of the Chinese TWRP image. I do not know if they have been implmented on the official TWRP for our device.
Based on what you posted, it sounds like you probably need to reboot into the bootloader and use fastboot flash recovery "TWRPIMAGE.IMG" to install TWRP, then hold VOL Down + Power and reboot into TWRP. Once that is done, you can root again using MAGISK or whatever you choose to use for root.

Thank you very much for your time and information. I must add that I was able to flash TWRP according to the procedure explained above, but I couldn't enter/access TWRP recovery. Then, I tried to re-flash TWRP and I always get the message: "error cannot load 'twrp.img' no such file or directory"
And I've tried several methods, several TWRP, different USB cables - almost everything you can imagine. Still, I cannot load the TWRP.img - it's not found. I must say I follow exactly the procedure explained in every posts.
What options do I have?
If you are using adb to load twrp, try putting it in the c/ of your pc, and putting twrp image in the adb folder, and if that didnt work, try renaming the img file to pocorecovery

Fastboot Flashes but dont doesn't persist.

Hi guys, I have an Honour 4C wich reading through forums i managed to update it to most recent AOKP 7.1.2 version (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8l...t/rom-t3717536) for P8Lite Alice and everything was ok.
I can recall some years ago I had to change my model from CHC-U01 to CMH-U01 to update to 6.0 if my memory is right and recently flashed P8 Lite firmware (B896) in order to flash AOKP and device was running without problems.
I was running my phone in performance governor for gaming , forgot turn it off, My phone complety run out of battery while asleep i woke up put it to charge.
It charged a little and after it powered on by itself bootlooping into OS.
I'm now facing a bootloop, phone auto turns on when charging and bootloops.
If I enter fastboot and exit into a shutdown its stays charging ok. (Just to turn on by itself at some point)
PC detects fastboot just fine and I can fastboot, however, no matter what I Flash i can't get sytem to boot up properly NOR can i boot TWRP recovery.
I flash twrp into recovery, IT says it was flashed OK but when i boot into recovery it just open that EMUI menu with reboot into system , wipe cache/ and system restore (wich takes 1sec , says system restored but it doesnt).
I've tried to flash B896_Update.zip used HuaweiUpdateExtractor and flashed BOOT RECOVERY AND SYSTEM OK , but again, no changes... it boots into AOKP Logo when it should boot into Huawei logo if any changes took efect.
If boot into fastboot and press KeyvolumeUP, other eRecovery EMUI appears now with restart , wifi update and shutdown.
When I try this Wifi method it bootloops right after it says connecting..
Also I can't do a fastboot erase (cache...userdata..any) because it gives FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) ... my bootloader is UNLOCKED and command prompt is running in administrator mode.
Same happens if i try to run fastboot boot twrp_Recovery.img , download OK but FAILED remote: Command not allowed.
I have no way to do an ADB sideload and try to go from that because system doesnt boot.
Is it just HardBricked even so I can boot into bootloader and fastboot?
It is driving me crazy it feels like fastboot just "fake flashes" or something . Nothing takes effect ....
Hi Korreya,
Once I to had ended up in a boot loop when I had messed up during twrp (that was 1st time I had tried flashing it into a phone).
I eventually tried many methods, few of which you have also mentioned, and finally succeeded but I exactly don't remember what I had did so I'm not sure if this works.
Download the stock Honor4C ROM (I'm not able to post the link so you could just Google it) and copy the file named UPDATE.APP into a folder named "dload" (without the " , if there's no such folder just create one) on your SD card and then try going into the eRecovery EMUI and updating the system.
PS: Note that this would install the official stock ROM on the device.
Try it and do let me know if that helps.
Peace

Mi Mix 3 stuck in bootloader after twrp update

Hello friends,
i wanted to update my twrp from the very first on to the latest 3.3. I did this in the recovery itself. after i could not boot into twrp anymore. Neither through Updater app, nor through Button Combo.
It all sent me to bootloader. So i tried flashing the twrp img through fastboot.
First: always in cmd fastboot flash recovery twrp.img; but result was that cmd gave no answer at all or failure
Second: i tried fastboot boot twrp.img.; Result was a successful flash, but no boot into recovery afterwards
AND AFTER THAT I cant boot into system anmyore
Edit:
on another pc I got Miflash running and installed latest global rom. Now im stuck till mi recovery. Phone is still unlocked
Edit2:
Got TWRP installed and after newest xiaomi eu rom. Still lost all my data, because everything was still encrypted..

Failed root, stuck on unlocked bootloader warning message.

Hi everyone,
I have tried to get root priviledges following a guide from Droidwin.com to flash Magisk throught TWRP. At the very last step, after flashing Magisk 19.3 throught TWRP when I tried to reboot my phone, it gets stuck on the "unlocked bootloader warning message", which is supposed to disappear after a few seconds and move on to the boot animation.
It seems like I can go to the stock recovery, which shows fastboot and wipe actions. At this point, I can acces the fastboot screen, but the device is not listed using the ADB command "adb devices", nothing is find.
I'm wondering, what can I try to restore the phone ? I thank you in advance for any suggestions.
Here are some additionnal informations:
---Device---
Oneplus nord running OxygenOS 10.5.5, european version.
---What I've done to get in this situation---
Unlock bootloader using ADB
Launch an TWRP image file using ADB
"Try" to root using Magisk 19.3 zip throught TWRP
Power off from recovery (using TWRP touch interface), but the guide tells to click reboot at this step ...
Get stuck on the warning message, not having any boot animation.
Try to boot in Fastboot.
Turn the Nord Off and start it with plus minus and Power.
Boot TWRP with "Fastboot boot "TWRP File name.img" and flash magisk 20.4
Thank you @denndenn.
I'm able to launch TWRP using the ADB command "fastboot boot [twrpfile].img". But when TWRP starts, it asks me for my decryption password, I type it, brief lines of code says "unable to read system/apex" before showing the home page of TWRP. Someone knows what this means, and if that can be the cause ?
I've then tried to reflash Magisk 19.3, which lead to the same result. I couldn't figure out how load Magisk 20.4 to my internal storage in order to flash it trought recovery ... Do you know how to flash a file which is not on my phone ?

Plug your phone to your PC while in TWRP, then you can use adb to push files to your phone, for example with adb push magisk.zip /sdcard. Then, flash Magisk in TWRP.
How about flashing stock boot to see if your OPN boots to system again and then simply load Magisk zip to your internal storage and then flash via TWRP?
Thank you a lot for your suggestions !
Here is the solution in my case :
Because fastboot was working, I was able to flash stock oxygen rom, and get every working, but it needs to erase all your data.
You can find a guide on the XDA topic "[ROM][STOCK][FASTBOOT][OPN] Stock Fastboot ROMs for OnePlus Nord". The rom list have the lastest roms version (09/2020), and the process is super automated.
Have a good week-end XDA !

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Snapdragon) flashing problem.

Hi guys Zeph here.
I've just rooted my Redmi Note 4 without any problems. I've tried to install several custom ROMs like HAVOC, Pixel, etc using TWRP but it showed some error I don't know. My backup ROM did not install so I've tried to install Global Stable ROMS from Internet but those were shown as corrupt. I've also tried using fastboot, ADB sideloader but same problems are happening. So basically my phone is just a hollow without any OS. Any solutions please because that is my only phone.
Here are some screenshots..
Can you boot up normally?
If not what happens, when you try?

Sorry when the backup ROM didn't get installed I had completely wiped all data for sake of installing Global custom ROMs. But it still didn't get installed. So my phone is like DOS without any OS.
Oh. Well thats a problem.
First of all:
Go to https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?device=1700309
dowload the rom (its a zip) and transfer it to your phone
go to twrp
flash it with twrp
reboot to system
Now if (while booting up) it says "The system has been destroyed":
Just keep booting in twrp, back to system, back to fastboot and repeat for some time and multiple times a day. For some reason thats how you call the autorepair to wake up, it will remove the ROM you just installed and probably install a backup one on its own
If this doesnt work too:
I will suppose you have a pc with fastboot & adb drivers available
Since the phone is alr in deep s***, lets try something quite risky
1)
go to twrp > wipe > format data
2)
connect your phone to pc while in fastboot
and execute these commands
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase cust
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase vendor
CAREFUL: NOW YOUR PHONE IS BRICKED, BUT FIXABLE (probably)
3)
repeat the steps on the top of this message
All this should fix the problem, if not i am sorry but the phone will be unrepairable without any professional technician
