hi
just got the 22 ultra with the samsung official flip cover.
quite often when i open the cover , i need to re enter sim pin code for both sim and unlock the phone, which makes me think, phone has reboot.
how avd that?
thxx for help
Does it happen without the cover?
haven t tried yet, just got it. i ve seen this morning it was rebooted, i ll leave it overnight without it see if it happends && let you know
Just to exclude the cover as the cause. Then you can look at possibly some other causes
I have that cover and I haven't experienced that issue. I also don't have SIM lock enabled.
I think that is a feature not an anomaly. I've enabled SIM on previous phones and it would ask for my PIN everytime I woke my phone after the screen turned off.
i ve reset the phone, and already got a reboot .....
gonna charge it all night without the flip case see what happends.
got a reboot also when wanting to open gmail
if it continue tomorrow i ll bring it back, never seen so many but on a mobile, even my pixel 6 pro wasn t that bad
Yeah. That is not normal. My flip cover never caused my phone to reboot.
hi,
i ve rest the phone completely, charged it over night with no flip case --> rebooted .... i ll ask for a replacement

I' ve got randoom reboot with my One S. Doesn't matter if it lays anywhere and is in standby or i work with it. Without any sign it reboots... Sometimes after an half hour , sometimes after hours. Somebody gots an idea why? Oh forget to say, it's not customized or rooted

No this is definetely not normal. I would recommend to make use of your warranty cause this could be related to an hardware issue

Same here in Spain with an Orange HTC One S. Yesterday my phone rebooted three times and it was just laying next on my desk. Another problem is sometimes it doesn't connect to GSM network for a minute or two. It is also chipping a litlle bit on the upper edge. I am thinking of returning it.
Exactly the same here for me in the UK. New one s. Reboots since day 1. Does it anywhere from 2-5 times a day even when sat idle.

Nooooooooooooo I switched from a Motorola Defy+ to a OneS to get away from that particular problem which seemed to be unsolvable. Just about only things you could try is another sim card (unlikely), factory reset or probably the best option ..... take it back asap.
Thankfully I don't have the problem >touches wood<
my h3g signal go and come sometimes, but i think it depends by my cutting sim card to transform in micro sim.
I also cut my sim card to make it into a micro sim. I new this was possible but thought this might be a bad idea but when I spoke to vodafone about getting a new sim, they said 'bring it in and we'll cut it down for you'. I thought I might as well do it myself.
I just had a thought. How many of you with the rebooting problem have their phones in cases? Mine is. Now that you can't remove the battery to reset they've built that functionality into the power off button. Hold down to reset. I don't think it's that sensitive, but it just got me to thinking, is the case putting some minor pressure on that button to reset the phone? I just tried it manually, and it replicates the reboot... Going to try leaving mine out of the case for a while. Should only take a day to find out. Having said that, it does it sat on the desk on charge without having been touched.

I agree. Anyone using a TPU gel case that has the power button covered up might get this problem. I have cut a hole in the case over the power button for exactly this reason. Holding down the power button on the phone for ~10 secs replicates a battery pull.
Looking now to find a gel case that already has a hole there as mine looks a little untidy now.
Just an update. Left phone out of case since yesterday - rebooted once yesterday whilst I tried to launch the browser and once just now whilst it was on standby on my desk. The case would appear to not be relevant. Got a response from HTC. Apart from recommending a factory reset (why do they recommend that on a new blank phone!), they say return it....

I dont know about this though. If that was the case, you'd be seeing your lockscreen come up as well.
I too had my phone randomly restart on me twice yesterday within a <30min time frame. Was advised if it keeps doing it to take it back for a replacement at the store I bought it from. Oh and as for the case thing that doesn't matter, mine was in the leather HTC pouch which leaves the top of the phone uncovered.

hello,
i've got a samsung galaxy note 3 N9005 and have a serious problem. i use my phone with the original cover and the original s view wireless cover.
in february i noticed that when opening my wireless cover the screen wouldnt turn on. serveral days later the problem was so bad that when i got screen on after 5 minutes and maybe the possibility to answer a call the screen wouldnt turn on after the call. screen remained black. i had to pull the battery out of the phone and then restart it. in one after noon of work i had to do this everytime i wanted to make or receive a call and up to 15 times. although the screen is not turned on it uses a huge amount of the battery.
i send my phone for repair. first time they repaired a part of it. what part i dont know and they did a software update. after 2 weeks the problems came back. i resend it to the repeair center. and when they received it the screen didnt turn on. they couldnt repair the phone because it wouldnt turn so they did a software update and send it back because they couldnt notice the fault.
then after 2 weeks the problem came back and i searched the internet and found a way to test the proximity sensor because i thougt that was the problem. i checked it by using the code *#0*# and then click sensor. and indeed there was a problem. when i covered the sensor with my finger the screen went green and keep trilling meaning that something covered the sensor. but when removing my finger from the sensor the screen kept trilling and stayed green. so i knew i had a problem with my sensor.
i send it a third time with the info to check the sensor (it came so far that i had to tell the repair service what to do). the device came back, a part was repaired and a software update. but now the day after the problem came back and even worse.
i'm now using a backup device and when i charge my note 3 a whole night and the day after it's just in standby mode. at the end of the day around 7-8 PM the battery is at 3-4%.
i mailed and called samsung but they want me to send it for a fourth time to a different repair service for a second opinion and then they will decide what to do next.
are there other people who experience the same problems?
i'm a huge samsung fan because i got the samsung galaxy camera, note 3, gear but i'm getting very angry with them.

Your motherboard needs a replacement. Lazy technicians are just wiping and reflashing software. Shoot samsung a mail in your region and tell them the amount you invested to buy a fone has gone to crap. Be firm and explain them the things in detail. By now a layman should know your proximity sensor is kaput (common problem with samsung devices., had the same issue with my sii, s4 )
Mate, the rule of warranty, at least in Oz, is 3 times and it is REPLACED.... No more repairs, you get a new item...
As this has been sent back 3 times I'd stipulate this, it needs replacement, not fixing otherwise you get consumer affaira, or relevant agency, in on the action.......

The "blackout" problem you are experiencing could be caused by some apps that you have installed on your phone. Perhaps you can try to remove your SD Card (if any) and do a factory reset to see whether the issue persists. I have a friend who works in a samsung service centre, and he informed me that usually the technician will first do a software reset/reflash/upgrade and they will do a check to see whether the issue reported persist. If not, nothing else will be done.

Good luck with Samsung. I haven'd had anything from them that even remotely qualifies as good service. Sad.....but unfortunately true. Australia is especially crap when it comes to service.
Hello,
Heres my story :
Ive crashed my 4 month old mate 7 in the toilet for 1 second, after that i put it in a box with rice. Because the mate 7 cant power off without the screen functioning.
After that ive send my phone to a repair company from my insurance, so they could fix the water damage and put a new screen on it .
5 weeks later ive got my phone back with my old screen back, because they said it wasn't fixable because some chip or component was damaged and the insurance didn't covered it.
I went to a repair company near by and the researched my phone and said that with a new screen assembly it would work. After they put on a screen we started up the phone and the screen did work, but it started up and after the huawei logo it jumps to a rare screen : only a clock and the underhalf of the screen is black, and the next screen if you swipe is a sort of music player app.
But it doesnt start up to the home screen, ive tryed everything, and the usb port has never been forwarded so the pc sees the phone but doest connect.
Hisuite doesnt see the phone.
Can some 1 please help me with this ?
P.S : i have my non working screen back on so i didn't had to pay because the phone doesn't work
I'd say what you see is the flipcover screen. Does it look like this - http://www.casesinthebox.com/images...awei-ascend-mate7-blue_p20141030030311774.jpg ? If it does, then the water probably damaged something so your phone now thinks that you have the cover on.. Don't think there is anything you could do about it really.
ahh **** me, yes thats the screen..
Does anyone know which electronic part does that ?
My phone is 2 or 3 times cleaned with some kind of "anti water damage spray", but perhaps i can switch out an card or component so its gone ?
My mt7 LT10 same problem but no water no any any thing touch it..
Suddenly I have this screen
Any fix to this problem ????
I just typed a long ass answer but my internet died while replying, so I'll make a short list of what I thought would work:
1.)Unlock the phone somehow and disable smartcover in settings
2.)Flash a custom recovery and then unflash the app which is responsible for smartcover(would require you too flash recovery and write a script for the unflash part, I can't help you with that..)
3.)Flash a custom recovery and let someone make you a nandroid backup where the smartcover setting is already disabled
4.)Flash a custom non EMUI rom where there is no smartcover option, unfortunately there aren't any good roms..
These are just assumptions, but I think some could actually work. Good luck with your device!
Oh Dear!
All you had to do was just to remove the battery, leave it for 10 minutes and put it back again and your phone was good to go.

Did you activated some gestures? Settings / Advanced / Gestures...
If not then do factory reset, if it doesn't help then RMA.
Double tap to wake up and finger print gesture are the only 2 things which are turned on.
Then do factory reset, if it doesn't help then RMA.
It is happening with me as well. It switches off and then goes into a bootloop for 5 mins before it starts. I talked to the customer care and they sent a technician but all he did was reset the phone. The problem didn't go. So I filed a replacement for the product. What I could deduce from this (might be wrong) is that this issue has something related to the loose battery(watch Jerryrigeverything's teardown vid) placement gone wrong in Zenfone 6. Either way, if I didn't misunderstand your issue then maybe you should also get your varient replaced.
After my last post in this thread, i had uninstall a gallery app by SB studios(available on play store) and since then the problem has stopped. I have a replacement date till 7th July....will wait till 6th and in case the problem occurs even once, ill put up a replacement request.

Just chiming in, I don't see how a loose battery will cause the phone to hang up and reboot. A loose battery will be a fire hazard. A loose battery connector could short circuit the phone and/or make the phone loose power instantly.
I suggest you reset your phone again and if the problem persists get a replacement. Don't wait for the last day, you'll have to convince the CSR to accept the RMA.
Already place a replacement request. I received a call from flipkart today noon, asking me to start the phone in safe mode and see if the problem persist, do a factory reset. Wierd part was the phone even hung when i was in safe mode. I have informed flipkart abt the current state of the phone and they are sending some technician to my residential place check the phone.
@bhavik_kk That's good to hear, keep us apprised!
The technician from Flipkart.com visited and all he did was a hard reset ....and said the issue will be resolved and left. The phone still switches off suddenly and take atleast 30-45 mins to turn on....as it goes into bootloop..aur the phone screen just simply flickers. I can't even place another return request on the flipkart website and it pops up an error, 'somethin went wrong'... Worst experience with flipkart. #Asus India....please help me with this.
I have the same problem too. It happened after the latest update three days ago. It happened twice while I exit playing clash royale and repeatedly after I exit the camera APP. The phone will turn off and Bootloop after displaying the Asus logo. It will boot normally if I hold down the volume down and power keys together ( Don't ask me why... )
I did a factory reset and after first time setup it just shut down and refuseD to boot at all this time.
I'll have to take it to the local service center later.
Me was also facing that issue and still sometime phone hangs and only black screen, then i have to hard restart the phone.
Hope Asus will come provide update to fix it.
This phone is a joke! It is starting to look as bad as the Samsung Galaxy Fold. Way too many issues need to be resolved. Asus rushed it out in an attempt to compete and they are falling on their faces hard. Don't believe me...just do the research on the many, many issues.

Just call the customer service again (take the number from the website). You'll again get frustrated while explaining a new person the whole problem all over again. They'll send the technician again (hopefully the same one). Just tell him that the reset didn't work (or record a video of the bootloop) and he'll approve the replacement. It worked for me (got the replacement) and hopefully will work for you too.

I am from Hobg Kong. My phone was functioning well before the latest update last week.
Its funny when I took my phone to the service center it has rebooted by itself (I tried for an hour earlier but the phone has refused to boot no matter how I tried) and everything seens to be fine. Luckily I have recorded a video of the malfunction earlier at home to prove my case !

My phone is not with me so I cannot tell you exactly which version it was. As I said, it was Ok before the latest upgrade a few days ago. I have been using volte since day one. I doubt it caused the problem because when reboot happened, I was at home using WiFi.
Hi, I'm new to the forum and to mobile operating system troubleshooting in general. I'm hoping to gain some insight into an issue I'm having.
I broke the screen on my mi mix 3 and after waiting for 2 months it finally arrived from Shenzhen. Yesterday I disassembled the phone, connected the new screen, turned it on, and it just went into a bootloop. I've never changed any part of the operating system on the phone before so I just assumed something was making a poor connection. I unplugged all the leads and plugged them back in again, checked that everything was firmly in place, and ended with the same result.
Fastboot will run sometimes for 10+ minutes and then the phone will just shut off, normal booting it will switch from "Mi" to "MIX" and the animation at the bottom of the screen will freeze after a couple clicks and it will loop back to restarting (but twice it has just ended with an all white screen). Rebooting from Mi Recovery mode results in the same.
From what I've seen I'll just need to follow this and flash the phone : https ://c.mi .com/thread-2504118-1-1.html?t=1590725045909
But my question, is there any possible way to try to fix this issue without loosing all my data and without using a back door method that may just brick the phone?
Thanks for any help, btw I still have the back glass off (I've tried with the fingerprint scanner plugged in, nothing) just in case it could somehow be a hardware issue.
So I've given up on trying to save my data, I don't really care much about that to be honest. I just really like this phone and would like to use it. I tried to flash the phone using Miui's official instructions but I can't unlock the bootloader because I can't download the app Miui's flash tool is requiring me to download on the phone to authorize it.
I guess I'll keep looking for a work around.

I unplugged it again to clean the phone and to bring on the glue..when I had the Screen on I restarted and had a black screen...so tried to remove the screen which then just broke...so I ordered a new one and a new display flex cable - I didn't glue the screen yet because I either experience black screens when the screen gets pushed against the backplate or the phone ends in a bootloop -> for the bootloop thingy I just waited for about 10 minutes and then it started normally so there must be something with replacement screens...I don't know whats going on -.-
Hi
Has anyone managed to get this fixed?
The screen works initially but after a while it goes blank, reboot I get the Mix logo not mix 5G. The replacement is a LCD.
Looks like it is stuck in bootloop as inserting sim does phone does not ring when I call it nor front face camera clunk when I slide it
