Hi all, I'm new the scene and recently updated to VRBLK3 from VRBLJ1 via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974114. Everything went fine but my lock screen still has a closed lock icon. Ez-Unlock says "unknown" when i open it but does say it's unlocked when I hit the unlock button (but the lock on main screen persists).
Wondering if I missed something or if there is anything else I should do.
Thanks!

The "lock" on the "lock screen" is not how you tell if your boot loader is unlocked. Reboot your phone...the "Samsung" logo in white text should flash very fast (appear and disappear within 1 second). If it does, then your boot-loader is unlocked. If the text hangs there for a couple seconds then you are not unlocked.
When I unlocked mine I first rooted the phone. I then opened up the "superuser" app that was pre-installed with the root. I pressed "OK" on the pop up stuff then closed the app. I went to the app store and downloaded the VZW GS3 EZ-Unlock. Opened it up and pressed unlock. It says it was unlocked (via the pop up message) but device status showed "unknown". I did some research and people said the app was just buggy and to try an older version. I tried an older version but same result. I read someone saying about the "samsung" text disappearing quickly and mine did. So I proceeded to install CM10 and worked like a champ.

Thank you!! Big help! It was definitely under a second so I'm good to go!
I have MotoG-Xt1033 Kitkat, yesterday i unlocked my bootloader and rooted my phone, installed xposed framework, etc.. I am seeing few settings changed/dissapeard.
1. Before bootloader unlock, there was an option called "Battery saver" in battery settings, but now i didnt see the "Battery saver" option.
2. In storage settings, we can disable/uncheck MTP option permanently by "USB Computer connection". But after bootloader unlocked/rooted, when I disable the option, it automatically re-enabled whenever I reconnect the USB cable to my PC.
This is few changes I noticed, If I come across any changes, I will update it here..
Is these changes are expected after bootloader unlock/root or Did I messed up anything?
Is anyone facing the same issue?
Any suggestions, or help would be more appriciated. Thanks.

Maybe it has something to do with xposed framework. At least for the battery saver option.
I also unlocked my phone and the option is still there.
I have a brand new G930F. I completed the setup process and got all my apps and settings configured.
I would like to root it, but when I try to flash chainfire's auto-root in ODIN, I get the message:
"Custom Binary (Recovery) blocked from FRP lock".
At which point I have to hold power till it dies and restart it.
I'm not bricked or anything, I just can't flash the rooter. Any ideas?

There are a few people who offer to turn it off remotely, but they're unclear when I ask if it would require wiping my phone.

You can't.
aight, so in my phone settings I am able to toggle the "OEM unlocking" I then ran the command "fastboot oem get_unlock_data" and I got these numbers: 3A55651301693678#5A593232374E32515358006D6F746F207A340000#2D4A54EDF01DEE17D9D801B3519F22685E90D8F8#342AE0BD000000000000000000000000
I entered the numbers into Motorola's checker and it said 2 times " If the Device ID you entered is valid, you will see a Request Unlock Key button. " I in fact saw the button, I click on it and then it redirected me to a page saying "Phone blocked This device is not eligible for bootloader unlock." I don't understand this, I am able to toggle the setting in my phone.
perhaps there is a different way to get the unlock key?
any help is greatly appreciated!
@Villagerjj Any luck with this? I'm in the same boat.
