Conventional methods aren't working, neither gravitybox, nor editing the build.Prop seems to do anything. Navigation keys are enabled through twrp so there has to be a method to enable it through stock ROM.
I found the answer, if you have xposed-magisk flashed, just install xposed edge, preferences, then scroll all the way down to forced enable navigation bar.

Hello, i have a question regarding the capacitive buttons on my OPO. Is there any way to do these things with the capacitive buttons:
* On/off like navbar visible/invisible: Like in Youtube, when a video is fullscreen, the navbar disappears. The capacitive should match the visible/invisible status of the navbar.
* Set the brightness of the cap. buttons to match screen brightness.
Btw im on CM12.1.
Thanks for the help!
I use a xposed module called Chromepie to use Chrome always in fullscreen (hide the button and navbar like on YouTube). But obviously it works only in Chrome. For me it's enough Chrome in fullscreen..
only tasker with secure settings and root privillege can simulate this
set up secure settings and tasker
pick apk from profile
secure settings plugin
Actions
Device settings
Secure
dev navbar option
on or off
will exactly do what you describe

Both can be achieved by installing gravity box mm edition for xposed..
Sent from my MotoG3 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Works
Thanks man it really works how do i enable single click to enable or disable data ? I need to click twice to tur on/off the data any tweaks for it?
In gravitybox you can enable single-press for data mobile in quick settings.
I can't live without LMT Launcher. With Marshmallow, Xposed modules can disable the navigation bar/soft keys/on screen buttons so LMT Launcher can be activated from the bottom. Is there a way to disable them in Nougat? I will have root.
I've searched and searched... Is there anyway to enable the onscreen navigation keys (Navbar) on rooted nougat TW ROMs?
edit:
Adding the following to build.prop does work (despite the many who have stated that it does not).
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
I don’t like the soft keys as the home key is mistakenly pressed in place of the space in keyboard.
The stock gesture are not convenient. It does improved in the Q beta, but I will not immigrate to Q until I will make sure that all Magisk and Xposed modules are working.
I tried the excellent Xposed Edge module, but it disabled all keys, including the on\off, fingerprint & double hit and almost brake my phone.
Any recommendation for gesture module that work fine with OP7P?
Update:
Sorry, my mistake. It wasn't Xposed edge that make the strange behaviour of my phone.

I use Vivid Navigation Gestures and they always work great. You can hide the navbar with or without root as well.
