Question I'm looking for the S22 Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant in Germany. - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Hi guys, I live in Germany and unfortunately, you can only purchase the Exynos variant here.
I will be grateful if somebody helps me find the S22 SD variant.
Best regards.

Wondamobile but make sure 5G works

Go for Wonda. I purchased mine there. Everything worked fine. Which Provider do you have? 5g works fine with Telekom.

About one year ago I bought a HK Version of a N20u at T-Dimension. That device was shipped from Europe, therefore no tax issues. The communication was good.
Just to tell you an alternative.
But one question: SD and Exynos are not that different this time, why taking the risk of VoLTE issues and more complicated warranty processing?

Hey buddy
THX for your reply
Based on my findings on the internet (YouTubers & Articles), the SD variant performs better on camera quality and battery life (especially in standby discharge).

I got my S9080 12GB/512GB from techinthebasket and it was cheaper than Wonda

I see.
Regarding standby discharge it is pretty hard to compare, but I also heard of a modem topic.
Regarding camera quality, some rare comparisons show slightly lower artefacts at SD devices, a bit less sharpening a.s.o.. But what kind of camera quality is really important for you? E.g. if you do not like less sharp edges due to misaligned lenses or other tolerance effects, you might think of buying several S22u devices and comparing the lens alignment and keeping only the best one. This would not really show solidarity to the shops, but it is possible within our local regulations (Fernabsatzgesetz).

I live in France and I bought the S9080 Snapdragon 12/256 version on the rakuten site. Delivered in 6 days, it works 10 times better than the exynos version that I tried for several days

Poco X3 and 6000mAh Battery

Hi guys,
I'm planning to replace my old and beloved Redmi 4 Prime with the POCO X3.
I've read that there is a version (only India???) of this phone where the NFC is replaced with a bigger battery, 6000mAh against the NFC 5160mAh.
Do you know if this version is available for purchase in Europe? or shippable to Europe, I live in Italy.
Do you think this capacity difference provide an actual improvement on the time-without-charging of this smartphone? or is it negligible?
Thank you for your help

Hello!
Yes the Indian version of the X3 (codenamed: KARNA) does come with a larger 6000mAh battery. I'm unsure if it's available for purchase within Europe, maybe you'd need to do some logistical gymnastics in order to purchase it from India and have it shipped to Italy. You can check Flipkart.com which sells it within India and see if there's any option for shipping outside of India.
I'm on a Poco global chat on telegram and users do get a slightly better battery life, but it seems out of the box MIUI still needs to be optimized as no one is really raving too much about a greater battery life.
You should really check the bands available with your carrier before doing so, idk for Italy but there in France you pretty much wouldn't have any 4G because the India varient miss a lot of bands compared to global one.
anyone know which bands come witht he indian version

I get 13.5 hours SOT on my Indian Variant POCO X3. I can tell you for sure that this makes a difference compared to a phone that's 4000+ MaH as I would get around 8-9 hours on those phones.
As far as moving from the NFC to Indian variant (900+ MaH) you'll get at best an hour or two of additional SOT so it's completely up to you to decide whether you want the convenience and fast updates of NFC+Europe ROM or you want a bigger battery and 2+ GB RAM.

Question What are the differences between various snap models?

Hi!
I live in Eastern Europe and currently I have a choice to buy Exinos version (S908B) or the snap version designated for the Asia/Africa region (S908E/DS). As I understand differences this year are relatively minor, and single digit performance diff is not an issue per se for me. But camera is the main reason I'm buying this phone, and I don't want to make a mistake.
So I'm leaning towards the snapdragon version. But it is not a version sold in US (S908U) that are covered in most Youtube reviews, but the version for Asia/Africa (S908E). I wasn't able to find online much info about the differences between the two, so I'm a bit concerned.
Could you please help me with these 2 questions:
1. What are the exact differences between different snap versions, specifically S908U vs S908E (or S908E/DS which just adds dual sim afaik)? Especially in the camera department, can I assume they will have identical quality?
2. Now after several months after the release, what are the differences between Exinos vs Snapdragon specifically in camera quality (both photos & videos)? Do you still recommend snap for ultimate image/video quality, or is it now mostly a tossup?
Could anybody please help? :|
I have the S908E/DS. The phone works great, battery life and camera are ok.
Pre installed apps are from Google and Microsoft and Netflix. No Facebook (that's a plus for me)

I have the Exynos and to be honest I couldn't tell a difference. And reviews are splited, in some areas Snap is better in others Exy is better but the differences are marginal. Both are great and you are the only one that can decide if a slight better camera (and I mean very slight) worth the hussle and the lack of warranty from your local official Samsung service network because this is what you'll get.

With all the problems reported by users with the Exynos it's an easy decision, aquire the Snapdragon device. Better yet wait for the S23, all models will have the Snapdragon SoC.

Question There is a clear statement - totaly avoid 8/128 model for 12/256?

Hello,
I am searching for an upgrade from my old LG V30 and S22 Ultra will be my choice.
In my country, we have only Exynos so I have to choose between 8/128 and 12/256 (512 is too expensive for me), the price difference between 128 and 256 being about 160$. So 8/128 can be bought with ~900$.
There are clear tests or unbiased user reports that 8/128 it's slower or really worst in day-by-day use (except games) compared with 12/256? I'm sure that 12/256 it's future proof but the 160$ difference it's a little bit high and my V30 is really smooth with just 4GB of RAM.

With your budget, I'd recommend going through the Samsung shop and getting a provider's offer directly through them and cancelling your current one (if it's doable for you). You'll have an unlocked device, and its price will be largely absorbed by the service provider (I paid under 800€ for a Exynos 2200 12Gb/512Gb variant, and the o2 subscription is around 30€/month on 2 years, so in the end, I'll have paid less than 1.520€ at the end of the two years contract, device and subscription included).
there were few users reporting that they found 8/128 inferior to other two versions. if you can go for 12/256
I'm using my 12/256 for the 2nd week now and I've got nothing bad to say... this thing is a beast!
Jaxom84 - My current subscription is 10Euros/month (Vodafone) and I have all that I need. So it makes no sense to pay 30E x 2 years - 480E difference in 24 months + 800E the phone price. I prefer to buy the phone with 900 with no contract. But I'm not sure if 8/128 is a good option or not, that is the aim of this topic.
Well, it was to ease the process in case you preferred avoiding the 8Gb version and upgrade for a more manageable budget. For raw performances with Android 12, I think a quick tour on the forum will show some topics about it.
And if you feel like waiting a little, maybe try to gather advices from people with the following device setup:
- Exynos 2200
- 8Gb/128Gb version
- Android 13 Beta 2
As this Beta is already showing some improvements compared to the latest Android 12 updates, you may have interesting answers to help you take that decision.

(Question) I'm thinking about buying a Snapdragon Note 20 Ultra...

Hi - I'm in the UK and looking to get a good condition Note 20 Ultra... I'm not really concerned about 5g, but I'd like the best battery life possible - so should I go with a Snapdragon model (either the HK or Korean models: SM-N9860 or SM-N986N)? Would everything else work OK/as normal? Thanks.
I have the N9860 HK version on Vodafone UK and it's absolutely brilliant. There's a hidden menu setting you may need to enable 5g (but I keep mine disabled as it eats battery)
The SD is so much better than Exynos in so many ways, especially battery life. Best handset I've ever had.

Question S22 Ultra / Magic 5 Pro / OnePlus 11

Hi all.
I'm currently looking for a new phone, and currently have 3 choices.
Honor Magic 5 Pro 512GB: USD 930 (Honor Official)
Samsung S22 Ultra 256GB: About USD 600 (Like New Second-hand with no warranty)
OnePlus 11 256GB: About USD 812 (OnePlus Official)
Which one is a better value for money? Appreciate all comments, thanks.

I would never buy a used phone. No way to know how it was used by the previous owner.
S22U would have been my pick had it been new.
I don't have too much idea about the software on Honor device. But it is a very good phone based on reviews.
In this case, I'll go with OnePlus 11 just to be on the safe side.
Have you considered other phones like Vivo X90 and iQOO 11?
Ah, the vivo and iqoo aren't available in the region, but the s22u is "Certified" by the marketplace app.

Those certifications mean nothing. Avoid a used phone if you can.

The S22U tends to run slightly warmer. The battery life is average at best. On an average, I get about 5 hours SOT (mostly on WiFi) and a standby time of about 15 hours when the battery is at 15%. They have sorted this out on the S23U, so if you can stretch your budget, you should consider getting that instead.
Everything else is excellent, even if the software has a few bugs here and there.
Between the S22U and the OnePlus 11, I'll go with the S22U only because of it's cameras (S-Pen is a bonus). This is not to say that the OnePlus 11 cameras are bad. They are very good too. But the S22U is better.
OnePlus 11 has the better SOC and lighter software on its side. So it will give you a snappier performance and better battery life.

Brand new is better. If you read through the forums here, you'll read about people who bought used phones that were essentially paper weights because they were either stolen, or bought then resold without being paid off, and Samsung locked them.
