Hi, I've got an unlocked bootloader, and I'm on Android 10. I have disabled it from automatically updating.
I am having an issue with Wi-Fi and USB tethering. Everything appears to work, except none of my hotspot clients are able to connect online. With the exact same sim card, in my old phone (Motorola Z2 Force) I have used tethering with no issues, so I do not believe that it is an issue with my carrier.
Has anyone run into this obstacle while using the stock ROM?

Whenever I try to connect my laptop to my phone's mobile hotspot (Stock and CM10) I get a connection limited access error and despite the fact that I can see it and connect, I get zero internet. However, I can connect just fine with my Xoom and Droid X. I seem to be having this problem with all mobile hotspot apps I've downloaded including the ones built into stock and CM10, anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
I too am having this issue. Bump.
I’ve received my One on Monday. It’s working very well except it won’t connect to the Wi-Fi network at my work place.
1) The phone connects without problems to my Wi-Fi at home
2) I have the exact same Wi-Fi settings for the work network than the ones on my other android phone which was connecting just fine to this network.
I’ve rooted the phone but otherwise I’ve not changed either the ROM or the kernel.Any idea what might cause this or what I could do to fix it?
Hello,
When trying to use my phone with USB tethering or as Wifi hotspot, my computer connects well to the phone, but I have no internet connection on the PC.
- The sim card I use already worked on several other devices without problem for tethering.
- The phone is 100% stock (last CM update)
- Data connection on my phone is enabled and OK
- I tried on two PC (W7 64bits) that used to receive internet with USB tethering. So they should be OK.
Except from the ADB interface, all drivers installed successfully.
Any idea why it fails? I found no proper solution on the web.
Thanks;
OK... I flashed Blisspop 4.0.3 yesterday night and tried again USB tethering today.
It works well.
I guess there is something wrong with the last stock version, no internet connectivity in tethering + no adb...

Hello XDA Members,
I am having a mysterious issue that has been very annoying. I have an EVO Wingle Wifi Device for Internet from PTCL in Pakistan.
It was working fine a couple days ago, my phone used to connect find to the wifi of the device and I was able to use internet on the phone, but all of a sudden one day, something went wrong.
Now the issue is that:
1. The phone can connect to the wifi, and it says "connected" but the device is not pushing the phone an IP anymore, it says "::1" in that place, and also the internet is not working on the phone.
2. On the devices stats page, I can see all other devices connected to the device, but not the phone. The wifi limit is 5, and I only usually have my laptop connected with it.
3. I also have tried to use a static IP on the phone like 192.168.1.128 and manually set it on the phone, and the phone still connects to the wifi, and it shows the IP, but still the internet doesn't work and the device doesn't register the phone in it's stats.
4. All other devices can connected and work fine with the wifi, with the internet working on all of them.
5. The phone works with any other wifi connection fine, just not with this device.
I have tried to:
1. Factory Reset my device, it didn't solve the issue.
2. Forget WiFi many times on phone, used different passwords, clear settings, etc.
3. Reset the phone, whitelisting phones MAC address on the device.
4. Used wifi fix apps from google play without any results.
But nothing seems to be fixing the issue.
Now I am at loss, I don't know what to do anymore, can anyone help?
Device: 9.1 Evo Wingle WiFi Device, PTCL.
Phone: Samsung S3 Verizon - Running KitKat 4.4 with CustomROM (SUPERLIGHTROM V5) with Safestrap, and rooted phone.
I have the VS835 LG Stylo 2 V, Verizon edition, and as soon as Nougat was available, it was installed, but immediately it caused problems. I have since downgraded back to 6.0.1 (VS83511B)
The problems I experienced with the original, and 2 replacement devices, were bluetooth, wi-fi and SIM.
Bluetooth, would randomly disconnect or not connect to devices.
Wi-fi, would do the same as Bluetooth.
SIM, would randomly say no SIM installed.
To "fix" Bluetooth or wi-fi, either toggle airplane mode or reboot.
To "fix" SIM requires rebooting.
Verizon would always say the Bluetooth and wi-fi devices needed updated, that it wasn't the phone. Even though every other devices connected to the same devices, would work just fine.
Since downgrading, I have not had any issues with anything.
Has anyone else had issues like these with the Nougat updates?
