That depends on the App. If you click the emoji icon from the keyboard you'll get the samsung (or google if using GBOARD) emoji... Apps like Whatsapp use their emoji for compatibility.

Just checked this out on the Signal App. What you input is what you get.
Must be a Whats App thing.

Yes it's a whatsapp thing... strange

Depending on the App.
The Samsung (or Google if using GBOARD) emoji is available by clicking the emoji symbol on the keyboard. Applications like WhatsApp use emoji to match users.

[Q] Is there any app like that? (slide to view notification)

So I was wondering if there is some sorth of an app that allows you to slide to view notification like one on iPhone.(I hate iOS but it is only thing i can see it's good)
You can go directly trough your notifications.
I'm just curious and would be thankfull for help if you would like to share it with me.
Thanks.
P.S. Phone: Google (Samsung) Nexus S
Android: 4.0.4 version
sliding down the notification bar isnt good enough for you???
I don't own an iPhone so I'm not sure how to picture it.
Is it like the webOS way of viewing notifications?
Android has had slide to view notifications since day 1

No smilies on stock keyboard?

From what I can tell the stock Samsung keyboard doesnt have a smilies button. Am I missing something?

Try some other keyboards. Lots of good ones out there. I use SwiftKey Tablet, but AFAIK it doesn't have them either.

Yes but the Samsung keyboard had the additional functionality like the text recognition etc.

So do others. I have one of them, and others have voice rec, too.
There are emoticons on the stock keyboard. They can be found by pressing the 'SYM' button in the lower left of the keyboard (if not there which it should be by default then check settings) after pressing the SYM button press the page icon to the 2/2 page and they should be along the bottom row.

Lol, that's cool but one has to wonder why they buried something so often used 2 layers deep.
There not buried on the keyboard I mentioned earlier.
Multiling Keyboard is the best for me with EMOJI support....

[MOD] Textra Custom Emoji: EmojiOne (NO ROOT)

Custom Textra Emoji: EmojiOne

This apk replaces the emoji in Textra with the ones from Emoji One. That's about all I can say about this MOD.
For a full preview of the emoji, click here!
Note: this app replaces the official "Textra SMS Twitter Style Emoji" app. To install this, you'll first have to delete the official app from your device!
This also means you can't easily switch between the Twitter emoji and the EmojiOne emoji without removing one or the other.
Installation:
Install the APK (in the attachment)
Go into the Textra settings and choose "Twitter" in the "Emoji Style" setting.
???
Profit!
If you have any problems, please let me know!

This has nothing to do with my mod.
The new emoji (of which the middle finger emoji is an example) aren't yet included in the current version of Textra.
I will update this mod once they are!
EDIT: Welcome to XDA by the way

Custom icon in AOD display

Hi all, i'm a noob
I was thinking in a way to add the messenger icon (you know, the little bubble (facebook thing)) and with the number of "message" (like the message and missed calls), there is a way to add this icon without rooting my device? I want to know how to add this icon by myself, and if I need to root my device for that, I will do it.
Sorry for my poor english.
Nova launcher has an unread count badge that you can add to mail/text and other apps, but i believe its in the paid version only.

Think he's talking about a custom Facebook icon for always on display rather than a launcher icon.
