From what I can tell the stock Samsung keyboard doesnt have a smilies button. Am I missing something?

Try some other keyboards. Lots of good ones out there. I use SwiftKey Tablet, but AFAIK it doesn't have them either.

Yes but the Samsung keyboard had the additional functionality like the text recognition etc.

So do others. I have one of them, and others have voice rec, too.
There are emoticons on the stock keyboard. They can be found by pressing the 'SYM' button in the lower left of the keyboard (if not there which it should be by default then check settings) after pressing the SYM button press the page icon to the 2/2 page and they should be along the bottom row.

Lol, that's cool but one has to wonder why they buried something so often used 2 layers deep.
There not buried on the keyboard I mentioned earlier.
Multiling Keyboard is the best for me with EMOJI support....

i just got my fuze yesterday so i'm still kinda new at this flashing thing.
can someone direct me to the stock att virtual keyboard file? i upgraded my att rom to the Energy 1.4 Rom but actually like the virtual keyboard that came stock with my keyboard better. thanks.
also the t9 "auto-complete" annoys me when I type via the physical slide out keyboard. is there a way i can disable it? thanks.
go to T9 options and there should be a check box saying "Enable Auto-correction in ABC Mode" un-tick the box
and then when you're in the hardware keyboard state (landscape), hit the virtual keyboard button, and there should be a little T9 on/off switch.
turn it off and you should be set
thanks. now if only i can get that virtual keyboard i'd be set. the fuze is awesome after all the tweaking.
I don't know what you are talking about. Are you referring to the stock Windows Mobile keyboard... or the 3n1 HTC Keyboard?

awww yes. the three in one HTC keyboard. link for the cab file?
Delete for development reasons.
So you're saying dedicate a small area on the keyboard to work as a trackball/trackpad?
A lot of phones nowadays have those little tabs on screen that you can drag to the area you want to correct, I think it's easier with that than a small area to be used as a trackpad.

Yes, those tabs are to small to do anything for me. That why I'm suggesting this idea.

I have Swiftkey X. If you see in the OP that I don't want arrows for the lack of precision. But thanks anyways.
Hello all,
Is there a way to reduce the size of the on-screen keyboard? When I'm using the tablet horizontal the dang OSK seems to take up almost 50% of the screen realestate.
Thx

You can Pinch the samsung keyboard and choose a different layout. I usually use the Thumb typing keyboard.
There are also some 3rd party keyboards with features to shrink and change it.
This is the wrong forum to post this Questions go in the questions/ help forum
1st - My apologies for posting on the wrong forum. MOD please move to correct forum.
2nd - Thank you so much! That worked. Was able to get the split and floating OSK.

Swiftkey has a nice floating keyboard which is small and can be moved around on the screen... Plus since it's small, you can actually use the swype function usefully on a tablet.
Hello everyone,
Searching all the keyboard mods, made me feel that SwipeSelection is missing in Android. Yes, when you use swipe in the keyboard, it doesn't make sense but what about when you don't? Please watch the video and see how useful it can be for corrections and selections

Is anyone interested in making such thing for Xposed for example?
One of the best iOS tweaks.
I only use the trackpad function, so samsung keyboard or latest google keyboard is sufficient for me.

Yes but it is limited, very limited.
Speed control, selection, etc is still missing.
Also, with such Mod we can have it on all keyboards

That depends on the App. If you click the emoji icon from the keyboard you'll get the samsung (or google if using GBOARD) emoji... Apps like Whatsapp use their emoji for compatibility.
Just checked this out on the Signal App. What you input is what you get.
Must be a Whats App thing.
Yes it's a whatsapp thing... strange

Depending on the App.
The Samsung (or Google if using GBOARD) emoji is available by clicking the emoji symbol on the keyboard. Applications like WhatsApp use emoji to match users.
