Custom icon in AOD display - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi all, i'm a noob
I was thinking in a way to add the messenger icon (you know, the little bubble (facebook thing)) and with the number of "message" (like the message and missed calls), there is a way to add this icon without rooting my device? I want to know how to add this icon by myself, and if I need to root my device for that, I will do it.
Sorry for my poor english.

Nova launcher has an unread count badge that you can add to mail/text and other apps, but i believe its in the paid version only.

Think he's talking about a custom Facebook icon for always on display rather than a launcher icon.

Looks really great, i installed it and tried several of the skins. Only downside for me is that it takes up a lot of ram, and ram is precious
lol went to reply and hit thanks instead (welcome..)
but what I wanted to say is, how can you justify the permissions of that app?
They give no explanation at all, and has access to your SMS, Phone ID, Contacts, etc.

That is easy to answer it needs access to sms to display unread sms, to phone to display missed calls, to contacts to show to name in the missed call....

[Q] Is there any app like that? (slide to view notification)

So I was wondering if there is some sorth of an app that allows you to slide to view notification like one on iPhone.(I hate iOS but it is only thing i can see it's good)
You can go directly trough your notifications.
I'm just curious and would be thankfull for help if you would like to share it with me.
Thanks.
P.S. Phone: Google (Samsung) Nexus S
Android: 4.0.4 version
sliding down the notification bar isnt good enough for you???
I don't own an iPhone so I'm not sure how to picture it.
Is it like the webOS way of viewing notifications?
Android has had slide to view notifications since day 1

I recommend nova launcher, you can customise just about anything. If you have a folder with app shortcuts in it, it will display a notification as in the screenshot below I have a new Gmail message. I'm using nova prime (paid version), it has the notification customizations and is well worth it. You may be able to do it with other custom launchers but I haven't tried.

Not sure what the notifications on top of a file are, can you elaborate?

I guess what they are trying to say (in their own way) is that no you cannot move the launcher button on the Samsung stock launcher. I thought this was odd too but I guess thats the way it is.

That depends on the App. If you click the emoji icon from the keyboard you'll get the samsung (or google if using GBOARD) emoji... Apps like Whatsapp use their emoji for compatibility.
Just checked this out on the Signal App. What you input is what you get.
Must be a Whats App thing.
Yes it's a whatsapp thing... strange

Depending on the App.
The Samsung (or Google if using GBOARD) emoji is available by clicking the emoji symbol on the keyboard. Applications like WhatsApp use emoji to match users.
