Anyone else have their flash led always dimly lit? Even when the phone is off my camera flash is dimly lit.
This is most likely the heart rate monitor. There is currently an issue with Google Fit and the S6 which causes the heart rate monitor to stay on. The only solution st this point is to uninstall Google Fit until Google releases an update that fixes the app.

I'm not sure Google Fit is the only possible source for this problem.
I have the same problem as OP. I got my S6 (non-edge, 32GB) about 24 hours ago and last night noticed the faint yellow glow on the back of the unit. I haven't been impressed by the battery life (admittedly a very limited time with it so far) - but this could explain the less than stellar battery life so far.
I don't have Google Fit installed (in fact if I go to the play store, I get a message saying that it's not compatible with this version"). S-Health is disabled too.
One other thing, when I use the flashlight feature, I notice that the light isn't nearly as bright as on the S3 - not sure if this is relevant, it is the same LED.
I rebooted the system, and even turned it off, the faint light stays on. If the unit wasn't sealed I'd pull out the battery just to confirm this light can go out :-/
I have this issue on mine as well. I first noticed it when I went to charge my phone over night next to my bed. I lay the phone on its face so the LED notification doesn't show. I noticed a slight glow from the flash diode. I thought at first it only happened when I was charging my phone. Today, while at work, I powered down my phone and again noticed the light. For me, its always on. I just got off the phone with T-Mobile and they are going to over night me a replacement. I mention this thread to the T-Mobile support rep and she looked it up while I was on the phone with her. My friend's S6 does not have this issue, so not all of them are having this. I encourage everyone to go into a dark room and check your flash diode.

Just dropping into say I also have the issue . 32GB, Standard S6, T-Mobile. I will call them and get a new one overnighted as well.
Sorry to mention this and I don't mean any disrespect but there is a small plastic cover over the camera fnt rhw rate monitor did u peal it off ?? It should be OK now

No disrespect taken, man those are hard to get off (thanks for confirming this, it looked like there were).
However, that might explain the flashlight function being a bit dimmer than on the S3, but it wouldn't explain the constant light source itself.
How can we possibly check this in store where there is substantial amount of light anywhere. I'd definitely check my S6 in store for this.
Mine doesn't have this dim light at all I checked and I closed all the lights to make sure nothing is coming out . I don't know I wish I can help

I think it would be difficult to see unless you ask them to let you into a dark storage room without windows That's how I can verify mine is still doing that during the day, though at night when I wake up with the phone next to me, the glow is comparatively quite substantial.
Plus, you'll have to wait about a week before you can see them in the store.
I have two S6's and can confirm both of mine has this dim lit light only noticeable in the very dark.
The problem with us getting the device early is we don't know if this is hardware or software problem., that might get noticed and fixed with an update. Many say after the actual launch Samsung/Tmobile pushes an update. We can assume they at least will to fix the cell standby draining battery with VOLTE issue. Plus how many will we have to get shipped to us before we get one that doesn't do this, very different than being able to have the associate check it in the back office with lights off.
Can anyone that did get a replacement comment on this.

Mine is doing it too. If it is indeed the case that not all GS6s are doing this, that does make me concerned that somehow my unit is defective. I'm wondering if I should just hold onto it hoping that Samsung will fix it with a software update or if I should try yo exchange it.

I spoke with a tmobile rep. He said online orders get 20 days return exchange from the day of delivery not purchase. He also said there should be an update on a day or two after the official April 10th launch. I told him to document my account that I called about this issue. He said I could get another (two) overnight to me, but there's no way to guarantee if the new ones won't have this.
How come more people are not jumping in here to say theirs is doing it too. If its just us few maybe we do have a problem. But giving it's only noticeable in the dark maybe they haven't seen it on theirs?

I think you are right, unless you have the phone next to you at night you probably won't notice it., still odd, I would have expected others to notice it too. And, even as dim it is, it can't help with battery life. I hope it's a software issue and can be easily patched that way.
Edit: just noticed tonight that my phone does in fact have the LED issue. It's odd because I spent some time yesterday in the dark looking for the problem and it was no where to be found. Been laying in bed messing with my phone while it's charging, decided to flip it over and low and behold, dimly lit flash on :/.

This is making me think some S6s just have this defect where the LED never turns off and some don't. I think it might be best just to return my S6 and repurchase the phone after its official release date. I think these earlier phones might be more prone to defects. My gut feeling is that this is something that won't be fixed via software. I don't think exchanging the phone for a new one will help too much given that so many other S6s also have the issue, you have a good chance that the new phone you get will also be defective.

My guess is it's a hardware issue (perhaps they used a different supplier/component for this part) since all of the phones are presumably running the same software (some with the OTA update that was waiting from T-Mobile - like myself, others perhaps without it). If it can be patched with software is another issue.
Actually, perhaps it would be useful to know if those experiencing the problem have applied the OTA update and those without haven't. My hunch is it won't be a factor, but curious, so people reporting should state their situation.
For my non-edge S6 (black 32 GB) I have the OTA and my flash stays on dimly all the time.
I noticed this last night and I thought it could have just been some sort of burn in from using the flashlight. (64gb regular tmo S6)
It's basically impossible to tell with any sort light around whether or not this is happening, even just with residual light, but mine does seem to be dimly lit in a pitch black room.
Could it have something to do with the selfie feature on the camera? Using the heart rate monitor as a picture button, that is.
I have a 64 GB T mobile regular GS6 with the OTA and I do have the issue.

I wasn't able to find any threads related to this in the S6 forums but I wanted to see if anyone else has this. When I open my camera app, sometimes the camera takes 1-2 seconds to initially focus and during that time it makes a loud buzzing sound. It sounds like a focus motor or something in the camera and the camera output on screen flutters while it focuses. Once it focuses, everything is normal and it doesn't make any more noise to refocus. This also doesn't happen every time I open the camera app, seems mostly random. Has anyone else experienced this? I am already on my 2nd S6 since the first was defective for different reasons and I'm starting to get very disappointed with Samsung quality control.

going to bumps this too because after having the phone for a month this problem has just started to show its face.
I've first noticed a small buzzing just after a boot for 3/4 times and than I had a long one opening the camera. After that it's gone...
I have it also! Started a couple of days ago. I have dropped my phone a couple of times. What about you?
Had this happen for the first time today also. Had hdr off, switched back on and it went away. Coincidence? Phone never dropped.

Try to clean up your camera lens.
Did your device take some damage in the past?
Did you take it underwater? (The S6 isn't waterproof anymore...)

Otherways, you can't record videos properly, because the microphone records those sounds.

Same problem here since last week.[emoji26]
I tried hard reset and another camera app (Google photo), nothing work.
I think it's a hardware problem, it occurs after shaking the phone and launching the camera.
I feel that the OIS makes more noise when app is off.

This started happening with my S6 today. I think it's the OIS that poops out. I can make this happen with a light tap with my finger on the backside of the phone with the camera open and using the rear camera. And this happens with all camera apps: Samsung's bundled camera, Snap Camera and Camera FV-5.
Update: ..and just as sudden this started happening, it went away again. I hope it's a bug - with a fix in 5.1.1.
Update 2: No, it didn't go away. It comes and goes. I may need to take the phone to the service centre.
Mine has gotten worse. Almost every time I open the camera now, I have the buzzing.
Just checking in to say that mine started doing this, too, about four weeks after getting it. It does it randomly when I open Snapchat, too.
I am having this problem too on the Sprint version sometimes it is pretty loud. I'm planning on taking to service center I think.
I also get the waves before it focuses. I read on another forum that someone said they went to a Samsung service center and Samsung replaced their OIS sensor so I'm guessing this may not be something that is simply part of the design.
*Update #1*
I just got off the phone with Samsung customer service. The representative actually heard the buzzing from my phone over the phone while I was talking to her. Since the phone is still under factory warranty they are emailing me a shipping label to send the phone back for repair.
I also have Asurion insurance through Sprint but do not want a refurb for a phone that is less than a month old with no damage caused by me.
Unfortunately the turn around time from Samsung is about a 5 business days and that was after they told me 9-11 days in which I said I couldn't be without a phone that long.
So, I plan on going to Sprint to see if they will swap out my phone for a brand new one. I think if it is a manufacturer defect they will replace the phone without going through insurance for a refurb but I am not positive. It they won't swap it out for a new one I will go through Samsung.

I tried and initially it doesn't seem to happen when the mega pixels are lowered but I haven't tested extensively.
I went to Sprint today and the technician concluded that he was ordering me another phone so definitely seems hardware related.

Hello everybody.
Had been dealing with camera faulty error message. Did 200 picture a day ago, and in the morning, my camera did not want to focus on a far object but did focus on the close ones.
The selfie camera worked OK.
After a day of unknown. the back main camera stop working fully. Just a black screen and saying faulty error. After the day it just stops working and always says the camera had closed want to send an error report.
After that, even the selfie camera had stopped working, so I got no camera, Tried everything, even went from 8.1 to Android P. But nothing.
Talk to Google, and they said that it is known issue and will replace my phone, But due to not having one single paper for the phone. (long story) Can not get the warranty.
So my only solution is to fix it my self. I bought the new camera for PIXEL 2. and Today I got it.
I removed the screen, when via JerryRIGEverythning. And did the change.
But my luck, the replacement camera is malfunctioning and it is just going left and right. So I'm stuck until I get a new one. The company already sent me a new one.
But now my selfie is working again, but my main camera is working bearly.
For the guys that have the same issue, It appears that all we need is a new camera. The phone then works.

-adhesive for waterproof LCD 5 eur

I noticed a very strange issue when out for a walk today, when taking pictures it seemed like the phone was out of kilter, the horizon wasn't level with the phone, like i was holding the phone slightly off angle, i can take a level picture but the phone is not level.
So i tested this with the sensors multitool app and sure enough the phone thinks it has a 2-3 degree roll when its on the level !

Can someone sense check me here is this a normal issue and anyone any idea if it can be re calibrated easily without me going through the returns saga ?
Update : Just downloaded Real Racing 3 to test and when the phone is level the car drifts to the left... tried a few 'calibration' tools in the playstore and non worked. Really interested to see if anyone else has this

Very cool app. No roll for me though. On what I think is pretty level I'm getting 0.5-0.8 max and not the 2-3 you're seeing.
This has been with google support for 18 days now and i still have a wonky gyroscope! anyone else had experience of this issue or long investigation time?
Sent across numerous video and photographic evidence and all i get back is an update every couple of days saying:
I've checked this further with my specialist and was informed that they are still working on it. However, it looks like it's taking much longer than expected the reason behind this is to provide an accurate and expedient resolution which would avoid the inconvenience for you.
As soon as I've an update from my specialist, I'll follow up with the same information.
For anyone interested, 30 days of internal investigation later and Google support tell me it's a hardware issue.
I have to return the handset and wait 5-10 days for a replacement. needless to say I've complained about this as it's extremely unfair to be without the handset for this time when it's no fault of mine.
Anyone else has this level of disruption?
My Note 20 Ultra (snapdragon) received the ONE UI update and ever since, the pics I take always take longer to process. Says 'refining picture' for nearly all pics and night shots take much longer to process.
Anyone else facing this issue? I've wiped the system cache but don't want to reset the entire phone before confirming....Thanks

No, wrote to Samsung about this and issues with navigation gestures.
They responded by saying navigation swipe error (when in mode without hint enabled) will be fixed with an update....and on my S20 FE it was fixed. Still waiting on Note 20 Ultra though.
About the delayed picture processing, they want more log files, screenshots and videos of the issue. I've got 3 Samsung phones in my home and all of them have these issues, Snapdragon and Exynos. I'm surprised more people have not raised this for Samsung to be aware.

I am also surprised no one noticed this. Portrait mode (background blur) and, especially, night mode picture processing in gallery takes decades. It was much faster in previous updates.
It feels like the phone is 5 years old. Not cool at all!
Did you contact Samsung HK or in your country? I will also contact them to raise the awareness.
I reckon it will take considerably longer for Snapdragon version due to slower updates.
Unless you factory reset after a major OS upgrade you cannot blame the update really, I don't have any delay taking photos in any mode (Exynos) with 3.1 March update, I did a factory reset after the 3.0 update
