Hi,
Am i the only one with consistent ping spikes while connected to the Wifi? I first noticed it when I was playing games, it would constantly load during gameplay, and ping will spike every 10 seconds in Wild Rift. At first I thought it was only when I'm playing games because there's no buffers when streaming videos, but I tried using a ping app from the play store, and I saw the constant spikes of ping every few seconds. After that, I noticed that the streams on twitch stutter/buffer for a few seconds too. I hope it gets fixed on the next update because i already had this phone for 1 month. I don't think I can return it anymore. For the mobile data, I lose connection every now and then. These problems don't happen on my oneplus phone, my brother's samsung phone, and my laptop.
I have a Black S22 Ultra 512gb Snapdragon
I've noticed ping spikes on wildrift when on mobile data, I narrowed it down to it being on 5g, turned it off and it was stable. No issues on wifi at all.
Yep was wondering why my note9 seemed faster. About a week ago I switched to lte instead of 5g and it's so much better.

Overall I am loving this phone. I have never had an Android phone this fast. I can't find a hint of lag on this thing.
I am, sadly, having a couple of other issues and want to get other peoples thoughts on things before I do anything "Drastic".
1) I heard somewhere they boosted the sound by 25%? If I have mine at full... I am hearing static and popping... like it is too much for the speakers. This is when I get a text/ringtone, or when I am playing a game (Robot Unicorn Attack for instance... don't judge).
2) Wifi.... I am getting weird "lag" when I am on wifi. Websites take longer to connect to and load... same with apps and the Playstore. Speed test I am only able to pull down 15MB/s. Low ping... but it takes forever (6-10 seconds) to connect to start the test. Have tried three different routers, same results (Netgear,an E3200, and a D-Link). Everything looks normal under settings. Full strength (in the room of the router... gets worse when I am downstairs). I unchecked the Wifi Optimization. Also it is doing this on 5 and 2.4 GHz.
3) GPS Lag - It seems to be taking longer than normal. I am going on a trip this weekend, and I will really get to test this then... but wanted to know if this is normal for an HTC device now a days (last one I owned was the Thunderbolt.... shivers, and GPS was always wonky).
Any help appreciated. Thanks!
1 - In my experience so far, the speakers are definitely louder, but I haven't found any distortion besides audio files that I artificially increased the volume on for previous devices.
2 - I haven't seen any WiFi lag yet. But I'm on vacation currently and the internet here is only 12mbps, instead of my 65mbps at home.
3 - The Engadget review noted some wonky GPS issues.

If you could... when loading up a web page or something... see if it is taking longer than normal to connect to a web page initially. Mine is acting like there is no internet... then all the sudden it loads up fine.
I am also noticing MMS is taking longer than normal to send (I had an S4 before this and it didnt take half as long... maybe it was compressing it more?)
I have just had radio issues in the past with HTC devices and want to nip them before it is too late.

I've been browsing a good bit on WiFi and LTE in the past 2 days. Haven't noticed any lag prior to pages starting to load, at which point I just blame the slow internet here.

Sadly I am still having this issue. Now that the phone has been out a week, anyone noticed anything?
I am not having issues connecting to the Wifi, I am just having issues connecting to the internet once connected to the Wifi. I have now tried this on 5 different home routers and several public Wifi areas and all the same results: going to a webpage has a delay anywhere up to 15 seconds before the page starts to load, and apps have issues connecting as well (Instagram will tell me unable to refresh, and Facebook will tell me I have no network connection). I have tried everything: Renamed the Device to HTC One, tried switching to 2.4 and 5 Ghz band, Unchecked WiFi Optimization... nothing is fixing this "lag".
Speaker issues - Still hearing a popping and crackling of the speakers, and I am seeing others are having the issue as well.
GPS - Went on my trip, I think I was getting the typical "Chicago GPS" lag before, as I would normally get a lock on with my GPS in 3 seconds or less while out in the middle of no where this past weekend.
I personally do not want to go through 15 phones trying to find one that has working WiFi, as it seems the One series has been having issues with WiFi since 4.3. Anyone have any suggestions?
Just browsing the forums for a WiFi issue my M8 has, to hopefully find a fix. This is what I have, not sure if it fits your symptoms as well:
Speedtest on network and bluetooth 11.39Mbps down / 3.85Mbps up
on network no bluetooth 13.98Mbps down / 3.98Mbps up
Speedtest on WiFi and bluetooth 2.53Mbps down / 5.53Mbps up
on WiFi no bluetooth 20.79Mbps down / 6.67Mbps up
Basically, if I keep my BT off, my speeds are fine and inline with what I expect to get, but if it's on it's at a crawl. Seems like WiFi and BT don't want to work in tandem. I haven't found much information on my issue yet, but I'm hoping to before I either do a a full reset or warranty replacement.

No problems here with simultaneous bluetooth and WiFi. I am using a 5GHz router.

I'm loving my z3 but for the life of me I cannot get a tidy wifi connection.it doesn't drop the actually connection but just freezes or slows down to an unusable amount.it's not my wifi as I have tested my note 3 on the same connection and it's the same on other networks.does anyone else have this problem or a solution

I am struggling with Wifi speeds on mine. I am having to switch to 4g regularly.
I am not too worried yet as I have 8gb data, but eventually i'll be worried as it runs out lol/
The speed tests show a good speed and ping, but it disconnects or slows down/freezes a lot.
I'm waiting on updates.
Thanks for the reply.I get data fine over 4G too.the chappy wifi is annoying as I have wifi everywhere I go...but no 4G signal at home

Confirmed, same experienced here.
Didn't the z1 have this problem
That may depend on the router or its settings. Had the same "freeze" issue when connected to my AVM 7490 router set to use channel 100 for 5GHz. Ever since I changed it to channel 48 no more such problems so far.
My bluetooth is similarly awful, in both range and functionality.
WiFi constantly drops and freezes, always has a weak connection compared to my other devices.
Sony have always cheaped out on wireless chips for any of its hardware products, especially things like playstation products (PS4 wifi is the worst I've ever seen), but I didn't expect it for a £500 smartphone!
Ditto. Great 4G on a 10GB cap.
But shocking wifi. It won't connect to I my router half the time, and the other half drops the connection after 10 minutes.
Out of various devices it's the only one, and I've had more devices on.
I'll change the chanel, clear dhcp allocations and usual stuff and see if there is any difference

Mine seems to have sorted itself out.had excellent wifi at home and up the parents.
Yeah for all their positives sony do pass on some crud wifi chips. Ps4 good example.

I seem to of narrowed my problems down to the router at work so Yaay lol.
As for Ps4, I think they're getting some unfair stick. I have mine connected to crappy BT home hub and the wifi connection is excellent.

Swapped it for another router (I got a random duplicate from my isp, glad I kept it) and the problems gone. Mostly. still drops from time to time. but usable

It seems to be random. My mate has a launch day model like me, and his WiFi is excellent to his 6 year old Sky wireless G router.
I have the newest homehub, one of the best rated routers on the market right now, and the connection from my PS4 to it is incredibly unstable. Every online game lags horrendously, especially BF4. Plus on my 80mb connection it allows for 3MB/s downloads at most. With an wired connection, no lag at all, and the download speed hits max every time.
The same thing seems to apply to the Z3. So its a sony thing. My first Z3 the wifi and BT were unusable. 3rd Z3, and wifi is the best I've ever used on a mobile device, and I havent even connected to my AC network yet to try. Bluetooth I've yet to try though.

AVM Fritz!Box here, newest model, got it when I moved because I'm on a business contract, even though I didn't want it. Has a multiuser NAS, SmartHome and whatnot, and one app for everything.
But when on WiFi with my MacBook Pro, ping times sometimes go up to over 250 ms, then back down to the usual 12. I have no idea why, it doesn't happen when connected to it via Ethernet. Bandwidth itself never seemed to be an issue though, and the Z3 performs great with it though.
TL;DR: Trying a different router can make a huge difference.
I was having the same wifi issues...my network was saved, I kept re typing my password thinking maybe I entered it in incorrectly but kept getting the "Authentication Failed" message. I was able to get the phone connected to my home wifi buy simply hitting the "Forget" option...then it automatically read the IP address and accessed the network...smh hopefully this helps for Everybody else....or some at least
Excited to be playing around with my new Z3, but two issues have popped up, and I'd love to hear other peoples' experiences to know whether this is just a phone issue, or whether I might have a bad wifi chip.
1) My Z3's wifi connection is literally half as slow as my iPad mini. I do Speedtest after Speedtest with the two of them, sitting right next to one-another, and the Z3 is literally half the speed - whether I test at home, in the office, etc. I also notice that the Z3's connection seems to a) waver in and out much more (much less consistent speed than the iPad mini), and b) it dramatically slows down over time, even just the short duration of a Speedtest.
2) Fired up Remote Play for the first time last night. Or at least, tried to... after several tries, I can get it going - with, of course, the 'warning' signal up top - but the moment I sync up the DS4 controller so that I can actually play, *wham* the signal degrades rapidly until I lost the PS4 connection.
I'm starting to think I may just have a bad wifi chip... would love to hear others' experiences with their Z3...

funny thing... my Z3 has issues with wifi too. Wifi tethering seems to be at about 60% power compared to my Nexus 5's wifi tethering. Also when I use it for miracast, the lag and stuttering is unbearable... Does anyone else have issues with this?
Ok, so I have T-Mobile unlimited data in Las Vegas and for the most part, LTE is very strong here.
I normally use Cox internet but I'm usually late with my payment and right now I'm shut off so I use my phone to tether. It's weird, the signal is strong all around the Las Vegas valley, but specifically at my house it's hit or miss. They said I wasn't being throttled, but I can go up the street and get fast speeds like 15+mbps down.
I haven't been tethering in a while lately (only a week) because I had my home internet on for 4 months, but now it's disconnected again. But tonight for the first time I noticed that when I run a speedtest on my phone, I'm getting fast speeds, like 10Mbps + down. I go to youtube on my phone, and no issues. No buffering.
However, I have wireless tether setup, and have tried tethering via USB. I have an android OS user agent switcher on my browser (though before this made no difference) and for some reason my connection is like dial up. Actually like worse. I can't even run a speedtest on my PC. Pages load, but it's slow as hell.
Why would my phone internet be blazing fast but my tethered PC is slow as a snail? This just started happening tonight

Suspiciously sounds like throttling to me.
Well I guess I'll see if the issue comes back tonight when my internet tends to slow down....but I just had the problem even a few moments ago in the morning hours. I decided to flash another rom, and low and behold, seems to have fixed it. BTW the phone is a Nexus 5 and I can't remember which rom was on there, but I switched to Blisspop and now my tethered internet is blazing fast.
Heeeelp! I dropped my N8000 for the first time and it literally fell less then 13 inches high on a pillow and then hit the ground. But since then, my wi-fi suddenly disconnects. I have modem problems so I reset my modem to fix it but the problem persisted. When I checked my other devices, they're all connecting normally to the modem and the internet. The issue happens when I try any download or watch hd videos. Suddenly it disconnects from my modem and it has to find it again and after 5 to 10 seconds, it works normally. It buffers the video from where it stopped (if the video hasn't crashed) amd resumes the download. If I watch a 40min video for example, it keeps losing connection every 5min of vid. Is it possible that the drop damaged my wi-fi? I mean, that would be soooo unlucky (since this week my sister's dog already ate my money and my iPhone's screen got cracked on an accidental drop even WITH a silicon case AND a short slow drop). I hate my life. I wish I was dead. Anyone has any clue? Tomorrow I'll test my tab on other connections. Can it be malwares? Bad settings? I'm sort of new to Android.
UPDATE: Just found out the problem isn't really the connection, my wi-fi shuts down as if I clicked on the wi-fi icon and I can turn it on right away... wtf... this is getting weirder and weirder.
