I don't know if you remember how we did use the torch in kitkat versions of CM, there was an app called torch, and we were able to enable or not the full brighness of the flashlight.
Since lollipop, the torch function is implemented in AOSP, so the torch app was removed.
In todays versions of cyanogenmod, the torch brightness is limited, and I never found a way to get full brightness again.
The only way was to switch to sultanxda's rom, but I would like to go back to official CM nightlies.
Do you know if there is a way to "fix" this problem ?

Do you have gravitybox working in full?? I mean, the most of the features?
Well, as you said, most of the functions work. Being on stock 21s, means that the 6.0.1 is heavily modified by LeEco and gravitybox is operational (I guess fully) on AOSP ROMs, that's why you won't have all features working. I use hardware keys mod like double tap on home button - previous app, reorient vol keys when landscape, fingerprint launcher is working, some more but I don't use due to the fear of conflict with other things.
As an example I am missing the ambient display from CM13 and I searched for something similar. Almost impossible to find something. Finally I installed ScreenWakeUp from play store and I have my screen woken up whenever I wave or take the phone out of the pocket. Tried some other apps but they have bugs on EUI.
Actually i ised gravity for the touch buttons function for double tap and long press, but as you said there are many conflicts and the most of the things dont make any work.

Hello guys.
With the new wave of Android Oreo AOSP roms unfortunately we loose some cool sony stuffes. Currently i missing alot the native double tap to wake up. I need to press the pwer button to wake up the device.
Searching in the web I found some apps that make this effect, but seeing in the scream in a dark place i have noticed that the backlight is always on. This don't occurs at sony stock firmware.
Someone knows an app to bring back this feature like stock does?

It's impossible hence it breaks lots of service rn, so when stock Oreo will be out, all of that will be fixed
you mean official aosp stock rom or official sony stock rom? The currently Oreo roms seams to use the beta code. I think that official Oreo version bring the cracker instead the octopus in easter egg. I don't wanna use the Sony rom. One day sony will stop support the XZ and the only alternative is use the custom roms. Thx for answer me.
I have the Resurrection Remix GSI installed and it's great for both features and battery life. However I am unable to get two things working.
1) The hardware button doesn't do anything when I press it and I don't see any options in the RR section of the Settings app.
- Is there a way that I can enable this for something like, opening a specific camera app (GCam, or maybe Google Assistant)?
2) It also doesn't have double tap to wait either
- Now, I remember there being a mod in some old Pixel Experience GSI thread in this forum to enable this feature. Sadly, but the mod itself has been removed since the developer ended up modding the feature into the ROM. So I was curious if anyone remembered how to enable this feature on a vanilla GSI.

I was wondering if there was any Android 12 ROM that has the option to use the old power menu (home controls, wallet etc.) I know about the app to bring the old menu back on Android 12 but it's a bit clanky in my opinion.

I think you could try this it has a bit of hesitation but it works on any rom... Not a app but magisk module. Idk know how to cut down the delay time but it works pretty fast.
