Question poco x3 pro brightness keeps popping under sun (auto brightness is off) - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

is this a software bug? even though my auto brightness and sunlight mode is off, whenever my screen is under sun, the brightness pops a bit. then the moment its not exposed to sun, or i turn the phone left or right, that bright pop is gone. in doors the brightness is always stable, is this a software based bug or is it normal?

[Q] Auto backlight customization

Is there any way to customize the auto backlight levels in mango? The screen is always too bright indoors and too dim outdoors.
tht's true, it would be cool to customize, because auto backlight depends on the battery level but nothing about light sensor...
Umm, the automatic backlight is very much based on the phone's light sensor. Battery Saver *might* lower the brightness automatically, but the "Automatic" option under Settings -> Brightness is based on the light level that the phone detects.
wow...shame on me i didn't notice that...
HD7 screen is not really effective when sun is shining outdoor...

G920F Auto-Brightness Issue

Hey!
I have small problem with my phone. I have the automatic screen brightness slider on 1/4. The problem can be seen, when i go outside: the screen brightness increases to a certain level but when i go back home, where it is darker than outside, the screen brightness is not reduced to a level that would suit me, is still mega bright. Only in quick-settings, when i turn off and then again on automatic screen brightness, the brightness of the screen gets adequate to the ambient brightness. Im on edgars xtrestolite 2.4 with unikernel v9.1. What's wrong?

Is it possible your obscuring the light with your hand or fingers causing the phone to constantly adjust to what it thinks is changing light conditions?

its possible, if the sensor is on the bottom bezel. never had this issue w/ my n4,5,5x, or p1 though.
My problem is more that the brightness doesn't adjust itself enough. If I'm on auto-brightness and in a pitch black room, my phone blinds me because it doesn't adjust.
What is everyone else using for display settings? I've enabled 'Adaptive brightness' but it's doesn't adjust very well. I prefer not to have to go to something 3rd party like Lux.
Mine micro adjusts in a dark room it's not terrible but it's enough to be annoying while reading because it grabs your attention. More noticeable on white backgrounds.

Question Adaptive brightness on cover display

Have I missed something or does the adaptive brightness feature in the display options only work on the main display but not the cover display?
I know the cover display can be adjusted manually with a swipe down but if I've been indoors and have it low its then unreadable going outside and too dim to see the screen to turn up the brightness
Pretty sure adaptive brightness relies on the front camera sensors, which are looking into the bottom half of the screen when it's closed.
There is none, but I wish. Even just a manual setting based on time of day would be great.
To see it during the day it's just way to bright at night.
I have spoken to samsung support and it is the case that the brightness of the cover screen is manual adjustment only
