Question ID FYT HU by appearance? Antutu #? - FYT Android Head Units

Is it possible to ID an FYT UIS7862 by appearance?
Just wondering if this is an FYT unit (the 3G and higher). https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10000399588630.html
Will the difference between 3G and 4G RAM be noticeable?
Also gadgetversus says antutu benchmark # is 87k, but I saw an aliexpress ad (didn't make note of where) that says UIS7862 benchmarks 181k. Which is correct?

Those do look like FYT units as described by the seller.
get 4G RAM for future proofing, also because you double the storage to 64GB (for more apps).
I wouldn't trust AliExpress ads as far as I can ship them (from China).

I am not sure whether this is a FYT. Some screens lok like it. Others not at all.
Ask the reseller

I responded based on this chart:

According to seller, they are.
I don't really think I'll need a lot of apps on it. Probably just a navigation app (was thinking Google Maps) and alternate music app if the built-in one doesn't have any nice visualizations. I just don't want it to feel laggy and sluggish. I don't drive but maybe 500-miles a year since I work from home and have reserved a new vehicle, so I don't feel like I need anything really nice since this is just to tide me over (which might be a year or two).
How would a UIS7862 with 3GB RAM compare to a PX6 with 4GB? They're close in price.

Good idea. The seller sent me a screenshot that shows it's definitely FYT, but it's the 9" or 10" version. I'm actually interested in the 7" version.

If you have bought one of these tabs and are as unhappy about it as I was then read on.
THESE ARE IN NO WAY 'FLYTOUCH 10' MODELS!
I know what it says in the about page but anyone can spoof a model name in build.prop. These are in fact SuperPad 10s http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/10-RK3188-quad-core-android-4_1622115746.html Look familiar?
TabTronics lie about the spec of these devices (NO GPS and only 1.4ghz NOT 1.6)! I got mine for free because they wanted me to keep my mouth shut about their false advertising. Just shows how dodgy some people can be.
Anyway, I now have a FREE rk3188 tab to play with. First off spec. The parts inside this tab seem to be a mix of rk3066 and rk3188 gear (Notice the Flytouch 9 is the same form factor and an rk3066?).
Ive seen 2 versions of this firmware now. the one it came with (which was a mix of an M8Pro and a TV stick firmware) and the one on their site (the better one).
Ive built a basic version of the firmware on the site and it runs well!
spec:
2Gb Internal storage (More games/apps) at the cost of external storage (12Gb Free)
De-Bloated
De-Odexed
init.d support
CWM Touch Recovery v6.0.3
Cant remember if its fully rooted but I can show you how if it isnt
Antutu score is around 18k depending on what im doing. Boot time seems to get longer and longer, not sure if its the apps im running or an issue with the firmware (more testing needed). I usually get above the Samsung S3 so that keeps me happy
I fully intend to develop this rom and maybe at some point expand it to other platforms. If anyone is interested in helping me with this project then please pm me
Anyway, here is the link, use batchtool and do a restore (may need to format the internal card on first boot), takes about 10 mins to do the initial setup so dont worry, it hasnt stalled

I hope this helps someone somewhere get the best out of this device. Feel free to comment, good or bad

Wich android-tv box is good ???

Hello all,
I hope one of you can help me out here.
Because this is an android board.
My question is:
What is great smart-tv-box ? (set-top-box)?
I have searched for serval boxes, but its difficuilt to choose one.
Here are the choosen boxes:
Bluetimes MX5 (dual core 1GB ram)
MK888(K R42/CS918) [quad-core 2gb ram)
TRONSMART VEGA S89 (quad-core 2gb ram)
MINIX NEO X8-H (quad-core 2gb ram)
UGOOS UT2 (quad-core 2gb ram)
rPI (is a nice alternative, but realy slow own experience)
Recommandations:
1. Must be quik surfing on the smart-tv box
2. Must have support (OTA for fixing bugs etc)
I am gona use it for http://www.bosnatv.com , the standard tv-box they are selling i think ther must be a better one.
On the main-page you can see wich they are selling.
idk which model is the best but you dont need to get an expensive one, for 50$ and less you can have a very nice one, for the remote i've bought the air mouse Rii i25 a beautifull remote and good quality!! look much better than the ones usually bundled with hdmikeys like the TRONSMART VEGA S89
there 2 models one with Mic and jack for headphones and one without those 2 options, be sure to take the good model, not like me :s usefull for google now

Right now almost every box is ****ty in one area or another. It depends on what you want. If you just want to stream 1080p (more or less flawlessly) so far your best bet is the minix x8 (no H needed imho)
If you want to use several addons and streaming almost every box has problems with streaming with one or another add-on. Here your best bet is an HTPC for example the Zotac AQ01
Disclaimer: I own one awesome box! No trouble!
MINIX has the best customer support and most likely the largest community behind it. You can't go wrong with it. The X7 (RK3188) is a proven warhorse. The X8 (AML) is newer but there are already custom ROMs for it as well (e.g. Finless).

MTCD Device Identify

Hi Guys and Girls,
So I've just bought a 2010 Ford Focus and purchased a radio from the good old gumtree out of a salvage motor, mondeo I believe as it came with a mondeo labeled canbus decoder.
The radio is brilliant just a tad slow as it only has 1GB of RAM im guessing.
I've attached a few pictures of the unit and it's specs and software versions from the about page and wondered if anyone could fully identify it and point me in the direction of any custom ROMS or updates that might enhance the performance/sound of the device?
Many thanks!
Dan

Its a px3 device. Maybe the best you could do is change the coreboard for a px5 or px30 if possible. 1gb ram is really limiting and the px3 is maybe 5 years old and not that powerful.
You can try roms for px3, but don't expect miracles.
Would it be as simple as just ordering a px5 or px30 board and it working after installing it?(I've looked this up before) also should I opt for one with android 9 installed as I don't want Bluetooth compatibility issues which I've read are with android 10 if i remember correctly?
@pythoner Could you also please point me to where I could find a suitable coreboard for my device as a lot of them on aliexpress state that some will not support the current bluetooth or WiFi device I have installed?
Many thanks!
@pythoner
I have also discovered my device has the MD725 Bluetooth module installed and would this work or could I find a PX5 coreboard and downgrade its android version to say 7 for it to work again as I don't want to lose this functionality.
Thanks
Depends what type of MD725 it is and what Android version you use.
I'm unsure as to which version it is as it's current installed in my car? Would I have to take it out and open it up to find out? Also the android version is 7. Many thanks @typos1
Yes, I know you have Android 7. No opening required - install a terminal and type : getprop bt.md725.type and press return/enter, if its type 1 it works with Android 8 and 9, if its type 2 it wont.
Its very rare to have a 1Gb RAM version of a Nougat RK3188/PX3 SoM, someone may have even installed Nougat on an old RK3188/PX3 Lollipop 1Gb RAM SoM, but the usual 2Gb RAM Nougat RK3188/PX3 SoMs are not slow (theyre not exactly really fast but theyre perfectly useable), so if you can get hold of one of them its worth considering.

Aliexpress has px30 and px5 coreboards. But if you consider that, please open the unit before buying something to make sure that it fits.

Question Joying Bluetooth connection problems?

Hi, I have a Joying 10.1" SKU JY-UQS10N4G-H which is running android 12, my problem is certain Bluetooth devices just won't connect to it, there are obviously some restrictions made by Joying, would any of you knowledgeable people here know why this is and any way to make the connection?
Are there any workarounds for this model? Is there an app that would allow me to create a widget for system Bluetooth settings?
Wrong forum apparently, so mods can you please delete this one, thanks!

Read the thread "Does Bluetooth only reconnect to the last device used?"
It will give you the info you want.
Well, it seems I can't do right, first I post in the Android general head unit section, then I am told that it's the wrong section, so I am pointed here so made the posts here, and I also asked if a mod could delete the old posts, as I couldn't see a way? But nobody has, and now I am wrong to do this!
Having read through the "Does Bluetooth only reconnect to the last device used?" I can't see anything that relates to the Joying units, they are known to cripple Bluetooth, so only selected devices are recognised, my unit runs the latest firmware and I have now been able to change any BT setting with apps that are supposed to give access?
Thank you!

Then you should read more . All Joying, Mekede/NaviFly, T'eyes , Atoto (some) and many more units are FYT units. They all behave the same. So yes, it also relate to the Joying units.
What about topway ts10 model, is that FYT?

Nope.
Topway/TS are other manufacturers of similar units with the exact same ums512 7862 SoC.
They use very different firmware to FYT and are not compatible at all.

General Mekede/MLOVELIN M6 MAX 1920*1200 QLED 13 Inch Review

I purchased this new unit, but I haven't seen any reviews about it. From the specs it looks high end. I got the 8gb/128gb model.
M6 MAX_Shenzhen Mekede Technology Co., Ltd.
I got it from MLOVELIN's AliExpress store. For $693.55 NZD, it's not cheap. The shipping was fast but it arrived missing the power cable and metal brackets. I'll post my experience with the unit and the sellers here once I power it up. I'm curious to see if the seller will send the missing parts or not.
Have you seen this unit in the wild? What's your opinion about it?
I'll edit this post with more info as we discover more about this unit
Here's what I got in the mail today

Not necessarily.....FSD is 100% operational according to eLon
I assume the original poster has a tEsla cause buying any other car would be foolish. Tesla owners make an extra $30,000 a year by having their cars serve as taxis while they sleep!!
you can save the system software and share it with us

I heard they had spontaneous combustion issues due to a bug in the rapid unscheduled disassembly error handling routine.
