Question Is there a easy way to change the color palette? - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Is there a easier way to change the color palette that affects the button colors and stuff besides randomly testing wallpapers to see what it chooses for you, that you can't seem to edit? Or is picking wallpapers and seeing what comes up the only way?

I use the high contrast theme on my N10+'s.
Then a custom icon pack and last set the wallpaper.
The Goodlock family of apps, Quickstar will give you control of the pull down screen colors.
Theme Park may be helpful although I avoid using it.

My lockscreen wallpaper gave me buttons with a color I like so I'll keep that, I use a custom launcher and icon packs anyway, so it was just the pulldown and phone buttons that I wanted changed from default blue (cause my home wallpaper is red, so it recommended all these pink palettes and i was like nope, no pink buttons...)

Pink? Jeeesze... the SK's are a bit insane.
Just look at their graffiti
Custom launchers are generally not as capable, stable or efficient as the native one. A 3rd party launcher is one app that can boot loop a Samsung with little or no warning. Take any signs of instability or lagging seriously... been there, done that.

it just doesn't make sense why they offer you 4 color pallets when you change the wallpaper but wont let you ALTER *ANY* of them or change them anywhere in the settings.
Might as well lock it down to apple level lol

Samsung's been screwing up since the N10+ in many different ways some of them major.
Like abandoning the power user and the SD card slot.
Some beyond reasoning.
Samsung never recaptured the clean, thoughtful form factor of the N10+. Sticking the spen on the left was tarded. Samsung claimed that most hold the phone with their right hand. A world of lefties? Land of the giants? Damn they be inept... and haven't learned the definition of insanity as they keep repeating the same mistakes

Ahh, I miss the days of the s3-6 where you could unlock the bootloader from the store and be happily on your way within a hour of purchase. now it's like the world, lock it down and do as they say

Download Samsung's Theme Park and you can change the colors yourself.
I use #Hex Installer. It requires some time and ADB computer knowledge to setup, but allows you to change any color element you want, even with full on themes.

i have read some comments about boot loops with hex installer and oneui4. have you had any problems? did you use wireless adb?

I've had no issues whatsoever. That said, I don't theme apps that regularly update.

Polar Clock is not broken

Polar Clock works, but the dynamic color palettes force crash. Here's how to fix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xAOehuxsYQ
sorry it's so blurry, had to film it on my old G1. Shouldn't be a problem henceforth
Does anyone know why the dynamic palletes FC it?
Unfortunately we can only guess as to the problem (and fix it) until the source for 2.1 is released. According to the logs, it fails with an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException, which says to me it happened because of a quick source code change that didn't get tested well enough.
Although I am curious to see what's so fancy about the dynamic polar clocks.
Edit: Fun! I'm sure I'm spending way too much time with this, but I'm enjoying myself, so nyah! Anyway, it will work fine next month. All the way up until January 2011. Which I was expecting, with the Array OOB Exception, in the getMonthColor class...
Anyway, the rings change color depending on the date. So the second (minute/60) ring changes color as it walks around the outside of the ring, as does the minute and so on. Although the second ring is more obvious, because it moves faster! Polar Bear has bright colors with a white background, and Black Hole has dark colors with a black background.
So next month your dynamic polar clock shall be working very nicely for you! Although one would hope that they release the source code before then, and that this silly bug is fixed in the official source at that time.
Ohh! If you want to see it, go into settings and turn off the automatic date & time settings, then change the date to sometime not in January. I also had to turn on Airplane Mode, or it would keep changing back to the actual date.
Nice. I want to see what they look like, but don't feel like fiddling with the time/date just to see it.... lol. Guess I'll just wait.

I didn't have to alter my time/date at all. I simply changed the colour palette to iron and left it. Thus far, 2 hours into doing so, polar clock has not crashed yet.
Well, technically is it broken where the dyanmic colors don't work. I wouldn't mind seeing the polar white on my screen than that crazy fruit color! LOL I sort of the like the grass personally...as the day changes so does it...nice!
iron polar clock looks great with the black bar theme, so the limitation isn't a big deal to me.
Nice to have the polar clock finally running, but I would love to see the dynamic palattes. I'll just wait for now though.

240 dpi Contacts(Dialer), Touchwiz Calculator and S Planner (Request)

Anyone can try to mod Contacts(Dialer), Touchwiz Calculator and S Planner and even Wall Paper changer to work with 240 dpi or even less dpi on Note?
I second this...
Im using 3rd party dialer, but i wish i can have those native apps in the lower density.

i want this too, ive gone below 240 but 240 seems to be the sweetspot before the battery icon starts to blur. i also use 3rd party dialer i use angel dialer so i never see a problem. but it would be nice to have the native dialer work.
Does S Memo work for any of you when you use anything other than 320dpi? I get thick lines running across my notepad with anything other than 320.
edit: I just found the modded s-memo thread. Now all I need is the rest!
maybe a weird question, but why less dpi?
What changes are needed, just apps?

If you tell the phone that the screen has 240dpi instead of 320, then it starts drawing things smaller. For instance, 12pt fonts are used instead of 16pt, or the icons become 30x30 instead of 50x50.
As the phone uses the pixel density information to calculate how many pixels should a quarter-inch-wide icon should be, coding in a lower dpi value makes all the drawn elements smaller, giving you more room. This way, you can have smaller text and have more on our gargantuan screen.
Most apps deal with this change nicely, as there are devices out there that actually have 240dpi density. A number of apps (google market) need your pixel density to be one of the supported ones (180,240,320) and other arbitrary values break certain app updates. And some apps (mostly samsung-specific ones) have hard-coded scaling factors that break the app when you change your density setting.
All in all, decrease the density value => have everything rendered/drawn smaller => more screen real estate, the caveat being a small number of apps not supporting scaling at all.
awesome explanation, I 'hit the button' .
Thanks.
To be honest I am happy with the space and prefer the 'no hassle' approach .
So apps that do not support scaling would simply not be in fullscreen mode?

It would make sense for the unsupported apps to simply be smaller than fullscreen, and it certainly is the case with samsung's touchwiz dialer, where it sits close to the upper left and has unused room on the right and bottom (contact list, call log and favorites tabs of the phone app scale nicely though).
On the stock launcher (touchwiz, samsung, surprising?), the dock is still at the very bottom of the screen, but there is unused/unusable space between the dock and where your app icons sit. third-party launchers (I tried adw ex) have no problem dealing with scaling.
For the s-memo app, it gets funkier, as the background drawing part of the code seems to have some weird hard-coded scaling, and when you increase your density, the memo-drawing area both shrinks (like the dialer) and also has thick black horizontal lines on it. Looks like an aliasing effect.
So it depends on how the various bits and pieces of the UI elements are coded in each app. If they coded it with multiple densities and scales in mind, it works like a charm. If they ignored it, it depends on where the reference/anchor points of UI elements are, as things can all get scaled and shrunk towards the upper left, or some things may stay at the bottom while others shrink towards the top. If the coders dropped the ball completely (s-memo), things get very ugly.
Hope this thread won't be ignored... Looking forward to some kind fella who would probably get this working

KL7 and beyond dialer is especially dreadful at 240 dpi, since the call button is effectively hidden

How to: Dark navbar in dark themed apps

So as the oneplus missed the bit on dark navbar on dark themed apps:
Small guide for the somewhat skilled xda-members.
Take backups as usual.
Pre req:
1: Deodexed rom
As not there are none so you have to do it yourself
(Fulmics deodex tool is an good start)
I may provide an rom if enough requests.
2: Decompile OPSystemUI.apk
An excellent toll : Advanced+ApkTool
3: Go to: OPSystemUI.apk\res\values\colors.xml
Change to <color name="op_nav_bar_background_light">#ff000000</color>
4: Recompile, and flash
I attach an updater for deodexed roms.
The reason for why it's white is because it's to avoid possible burn ins. And I read somewhere that you can download this app called "navbar app" which can change it to black if you're really wanted too.

Navbar app resets to defaults, eg, not functional on op5T
For me "Navbar Apps" does the trick, you just need to grand accessibility service, you don't even need root. I just disabled the color changing animation.
Any screens?
Navbar apps work but not everytime. Like - It doesn't work perfectly on Nova Launcher and Google App.
For the most apps the navbar app improved the ugly grey navbar. Facebook in App browser for eg forces the grey navbar. I attached chrome screenshots with enabled black navbar and the default grey one. Nova launcher works perfect for me.
I've never been a fan of the black navbar. I've always thought it should match the color of the top status bar.
So far, using the Light theme, the off-white navbar looks pretty good.

I really miss some of the ROMs from the good old days. Where Devs would take stock ROMs deodex them, decompile individual apps make edits like you mentioned above and smali edits. In some cases the end result would be a stock based ROM with all the extra options.
This was all before Xposed.

I don't think you need to worry about burn in down there. Better option would be to change the spacing and nav theme more often (like once every few months).

White color only makes it burn in harder.
I have not had any issues with the navbar apps from play store. I set to static black and stays that way. I would not mind a fully deodexed stock ROM though, That would be nice. No other modifications, just deodexed, fixed nav of course why this thread is here, and boom. lol
Am really disappointed ,I never imagine that you can change navbar color /icons /notification background /etc. on samsung s8 /s8+/note without root and in our device it will be so difficult .
Never mind i will live with this .

+1 to this, I would love to see a deodexed stock OOS for our device that has a few modification options. Similar to what Fulmics did with the LG G3 (and other LG devices). He is the author of that deodex tool after all. Probably most of it could be done through modifying this same system APK & flashing on a rooted device, something I'm considering toying around with (but it would be time consuming...). Only problem with solutions like this is when new system updates come out you need to wait for an updated version of this as well in many cases.
Easier just to install Navbar apps from play

No, the *off white* color used with the grey buttons reduces burn-in greatly. A black navbar on an OLED screen simply causes the pixels in the navbar strip to remain deactivated for prolonged periods of time, causing the buttons themselves and every other part of the screen whose pixels remain active more often to degenerate at a much faster rate, causing the burn-in effect. Since the nav-bar isn't completely white, the pixels in that area aren't being driven as hard as they would be, were they stark white, or as white as the display can go. The grey buttons/icons help reduce burn-in as well, as the pixels are still active and "lit" in these areas and are not being driven the hardest possible (stark white on OLED drives the pixels harder than off-white, grey, and most other colors displayed by the phone).

[APP][TESTERS NEEDED] Notch Battery Bar - Live Wallpaper

Use your notch as a battery bar in this live wallpaper.
I need someone to test this app on the Essential Phone. So if you install the trial version on the phone, adjust the size and post a picture(not a screenshot), I will give away pro version codes for the first 3 people.
Trial - Play store link
Paid - customizable - Play store link
Looks pretty awful, since it's designed for wide notches and we only got a "drop" of a notch...
Width: 200
Height: 150
Used settings:
Width: 220
Height: 160
After applying size adjustments to app, nothing happens.. all I see is the wallpaper, and the app wants me to change 5he wallpaper as well?
This is a very creative app; appreciate the ongoing work for this ?
Please give me code too.
210x155
I tried your app with a bunch of different settings to try to get one that works well with this phone.
width 170
height 129
Seems to work best for me.
One issue I have with it is the angle of the slope.
Is there any way you could simply make the highlighting properly follow the curve of the notch for this phone, rather than spread out (thicker) at the top and around the bend (bottom). FYI: I could never see the color band below the notch (as shown in your video for other phones).
Also, there should be a way to visualize any changes you make rather than going pixel by pixel to try to get to the perfect setting for your phone. --> Hit apply. --> Hit back. --> Hit preview. --> Realizing you have to change it again and again. --> Hit back. --> Hit edit. Change #s. --> Repeat.
Simply too many steps.
My guess is that the average user takes 10-15 tries to get to the correct-ish numbers for their specific device.
Suggestion:
I know it's a lot of work with so many phones, but maybe a submission key / option so you can begin to collect preset ranges that people are using for the most common phones.
Question:
Is there any way to implement this so that it overlays when you are using another app. Right now, it only shows on the home screen (wallpaper only).
Because of this, I can't use muzei
If you can do this, I'll happily buy it.
------
Feel free to PM a code if these suggestions are useful.

Yes, we cannot use 2 live wallpapers at the same time. And the wallpaper needs to be live otherwise it wont be able to update itself.

Changing resolution properly (rounded corner, UI scaling etc)

It was supposed to be just an experiment, but now I'm spend.
Basically, I can perfectly well change the resolution on my a22 4g, which was what I wanted, but certain elements, like the rounded corners and notification bar, or what it's called, are not handled. The radius is not scaled, which looks horrible. It can be changed manually, from what I've tried, but the change is not persistent. All it takes is a single rotation of the phone, and we're back to scratch, and besides, the other issues aren't solved, even if it worked.
I've tried numerous helper apps, just for kick, but they don't seem to be able to do a better job than myself, so what's the game here? Is it simply not possible, or am I missing something?

Although interesting, the name rather imply that it is not a general solution, and besides, it basically requires root, which really shouldn't be necessary. I will look into it, however, so thanks for the reply.

IMO to change appearance of some System UI elements you've to use System UI Tuner app
