Question Battery replacement car. Android head unit problem - FYT Android Head Units

Hi,
I replaced my battery. Now I can’t access in my android 10 head unit the NGT mode ( Mercedes Benz old radio interface ). Furthermore my back camera doesn’t work and I have no sound at all.
What can I do now ?
I think because I lost the connection to my Mercedes Benz interface is the reason. I guess because of that the AUX set as before -> no sound now and because it’s not connected to the old interface I don’t have my back camera. How do it connect it again ?
Please help.

If you yourself replaced the battery then what did you change in the connections/wiring?
If your garage changed it, then ask them what they changed in the connections/wiring.

My accessory: a BMW

OK, this may not be the correct place to post the request but i do.
I am planning to buy a BMW. THis car offers a bluetooth kit to connect your phone to the car, you know this stuff to use your phone while in the car without actually touching it and talking via the car audio system bla bla bla..
Anyway, i wonder if these kind of car bt kits are able to play music from my trinity, too? if not, what other ways are there to listen to music in the car via my trinity?
anybody made any experiences yet?

I know here are some devices that connect to the audio out jack and emit a low intensity fm signal that can be captured on the car's radio.
I had that for my wizard and magician. But the quality is poor. Besides you would have to buy a mini usb to audio jack converter plus you can not use the mic anymore plus it looks like a nerd had had some time to frickle some cables together...

in BMW you can hide too the mic under the case of the original mic location
ah, by the way, it's mooooore cheaper than the original BMW one!
The BMW bluetooth kit is not that great, most stock car options like that aren't, even the dealer will tell you that and probably tell you it's only really meant (TESTED) with Motorola phones. If you do get a BMW with a Bluetooth Kit, you're going to need this as far as phone functionality is concerned when it comes to Bluetooth on the BMW, you're going to need Jetware's Bluetooth Extension found here.

The bigger question is why would you bother, it's not like you have that much storage on your Trinity to play audio for music. A better option instead of investing in 3rd party bluetooth options is to get the IPOD option with the kit, this way you have stereo controls and the IPOD sits in your glove compartment so no wires or anything. Not to mention you could always just burn a CD full of MP3, even my stock BMW radio can play MP3's burned onto a CD.
Trinity and BMW
I have a Trinity with the Dopod Test GPS ROM. It pairs perfectly with the BMW system on my E90 320D with Pro Sat Nav, and all the contacts are visible on the Sat Nav screen...most of the time. Last night I could only find those on the SIM Card, but after driving off this morning they are all there again (580 of them). I haven't tried Jetware but it doesn't seem to need it to work.
The Beemer has a 3.5mm audio jack in the console. Get a USB headphone splitter/adapter for your phone and plug your Trinity into this. It will then play through the BMW system.

My friend you are good... BMW comes with the Ipod connector and you want ot lisiten to muzic from a PDA... i bought Lexus GS300 and it do not have an iPod connector i have to pay few hunderd $ to get it fixed...
life is a ***** you will never get what you want and you will never be satisfied with what you have...
just for your info Lexus GS has the bluetooth phone hands free built in with there mark levinson audio system but its not stereo so i am not sure if the muzic u play from your PDA will be good quality, i tried the FM transsmitter for the iPod but in the end i have to move to cable connection as the sound quality was bad from time to time and i was not doing justice to the 14 speaker Mark levinson system...
BMW bluetooth in E91 320d works!
All,
Bluetooth connection works with my BMW 320 Touring (Model E91 from 11/2006) with BMW stock Bluetooth (Feature SA644) and my P3600 (in fact I have a Vodafone VPA Compact GPS running WM5).
The SIM Access profile is enabled using the HTC-provided application "SAP Einstellungen" (probably in English SAP Settings) on the P3600. The P3600 can be operated using the Steering wheel keys (Volume, Receive/Hang up call, show numbers in SIM on the iDrive screen, browse and call numbers and dial numbers using the speech-to-text function of the BMW iDrive). I have the "basic" iDrive system "BMW Business" without the full maps on the iDrive screen, but the Bluetooth feature is the same for both iDrive systems.
BMW has a phone compatibility list and in that list only the MDA Compact III (that is HTC Artemis/P3300) is listed, but all modern HTC phones using BT 2.0 and the SIM Access profile should do. T-Mobile confirmed to me that this also applies to the T-Mobile Vario II (equals HTC TyTN).
Speech quality is like with my old Nokia 6310i, the only catch is that BMW does not offer a charge cradle for extUSB connectors, but a Car-to-USB charger will do. Also, the BMW has a 3,5" Stereo socket in the Console / Phone cradle area to which I connect the P3600 using a 1-to-3 extUSB to 3,5" adapter, then music can be played back using the built-in BMW iDrive stereo system.

[Q] WP7 BT issue

I m having issue of my Focus's BT not working. Whenever i turn on the BT is goes into searching mode and doesn't come out of that.

Not exactly, but in my opinion WP's Bluetooth software is just horrible.
It has two options - on and off. You can't change your phones BT name, you can't be invisible with bluetooh on, you can't transfer files. My sister can't sync her WP with her car, whereas I (on Android) just turn BT on and it syncs instantly.
I hoped Mango would fix that, but it didn't. It's just crap.
bluetooth isn't the best part of wp7 for sure...but it sync easy with an headset or a car stereo...
reading some threads about it i found that samsung devices have the worst wp7 BT hadware...
still, i'm alright to say that files transfers should be enabled
hmmm....my focus synced with my car stereo once....but recently it has started go into "Searching" mode and doesnt sync with car stereo
I only use Bluetooth in my cars and all my previous phones worked perfectly (iPhone, iPhone3G, iPhone4, Lg Quantum, Samsung Focus).
The HTC Titan on the other hand sucks. My two vehicles handle things different.
The Challenger (factory BT) will hold onto the call even if the car is off and the door open. The call will switch back to my old phones when out of range (basically in the house) or i manually shut off bluetooth.
The Jeep (aftermarket radio) once you open the door with the car off the call goes back to the phone.
The Titan has a problem were 1/2 of the time when the call is transferred back to the phone either manually, because the car turned off, or im out of range. The mic will not engage. I can hear the person but they cannot hear me.
Haven't had a problem with my Trophy... previous car was a Lexus IS220d and it synced and worked fine.
Currently driving a Jeep Wrangler and only once I've had the "searching for device" issue.
Bluetooth on Wp7 is quite poor. You can not select, which service an adapter shall support (handsfree and A2DP). It always use both services.
Windows Phone's Bluetooth support is abysmal, but you know what's worse: Samsung's support for Bluetooth on Windows Phone. Their last firmware update for the AT&T-branded Samsung Focus reduced out-of-call Bluetooth volume so that it's way too soft and text-to-speech is impossible to use because you can't hear it. If you turn up your Bluetooth headset or car volume to compensate, then in-call volume is way too loud. There is no fix or solution, except to restore the old firmware through Zune's backup. I've been running 2103.11.3.3 instead of 2103.11.8.1 for about 5 months now. I couldn't be more furious about Samsung and AT&T's lack of urgency to fix, or even acknowledge this. I'd even deal with the disappearing keyboard (as I have anyway) if it means keeping Bluetooth working. Regardless, after this experience I will never buy a Samsung phone again.
WP7 lacks rSAP, and for many of us with European cars are SOL. Wish Microsoft would listen as many of us have complained about needing rSAP.

Question NaviFly 7862 steering wheel controls not working

I have purchased an Android HeadUnit for my Renault Megane 2 (2007) from AliExpress. Every function works except the steering wheel controls. The unit has the UIS7862 CPU @1.8Ghz, 6gb Ram and 128gb storage. I have installed the CanBox correctly and tried many CanBox settings in factory menu, but I cannot get the control app to enter learning mode. Does anyone have any idea? Maybe the built in key map application is at fault (com.syu.steer).
Did you find a solution to your problem yet?
I'm stuck at the exact same scenario, same unit. The support over at AliExpress mention to me to select "XP" for canbox settings. However, my canbus module is by Raise, hence I should be using the "RZC"
Also, my reverse cam doesnt work too.

I got the steering wheel keys to work with a custom controller made by an engineer in my country specifically for my car and my HeadUnit. The controller is connected directly to the wheel controls and the "key" wire on my HeadUnit. I had to disassembly the steering wheel base and route the cable around the original one. Now I can map every key to an action in the Key Learning app. For the backup camera, because I used a wireless kit, I couldn't use the "back" camera wire to trigger the HeadUnit to switch to it. The kit came with a receiver which only had power wires and a yellow RCA cable. I wired the receiver's power cables to the ACC power so that the receiver only powers on when the engine is running and I managed to map a button on the steering wheel to switch to the RCA input. Now when I want to use back up camera, I just need to press a button to see the image. The camera's transmitter is wired to the license plate bulb and I managed to fit it in the rear bumper.
This wasn't a "plug and play" experience that the Chinese seller promised, but overall I can say I am pretty happy with the end result. The audio quality is wayyy better than the stock HeadUnit. I didn't know that my stock speakers could get that loud and have so much bass. The DSP chip does it's job wonderfully. Also the radio reception is better than with the stock unit. The Android HeadUnit is fast and snappy. Apps open almost instantly and those 6gb of ram really help. I could compare the overall user experience with my OnePlus 7 phone. The unit also cold boots very quickly. The wifi reception is pretty poor. The unit shows 75% signal when my phone is in the car. It doesn't bother me because I put a Sim card in the unit and the mobile reception is as good as on my phone.

I managed to get my steering controls working finally. Got the correct canbus setting and corrected a connection.
Now, I'm stull stuck with the reverse cam issue. The +12V does energize when I am in reverse gear - I tested this when I connected my cam to DV-in and cam turns on only when in reverse.
But I just don't understand why the Android won't switch to Cam in during reverse gear.
Will continue to seek help from the manufacturer. Otherwise, it's a great HU as you said. Awesome speed!

You connected the reverse wire?
Maybe this triggers the camera view of it doesn't work via the canbus.
Well, it does work via canbus, just doesnt switch to cam input automatically. Perhaps its some software settings.

Not all canbus provide the reverse signal. So maybe you have to provide the reverse signal on the separate input.

I feel that the HU knows when I am referring (CANBUS might be working here), because the 12V turns on when Im in reverse. The only issue is the HU doesnt switch to the cam automatically. Looks to me like a SW issue. Still awaiting reply from manufacturer.
Also, I realised my backward/forward buttons are swapped. Why is it I can't re-learn them?
It may not be the same for the Navifly, but on my unit, G5 must get the proper voltage to "detect" the car has been put in reverse. I'm re-using my factory rear view camera and it's a 6.5V camera. However, I had to up the voltage to 8.6V so that G5 go that voltage...then the rear image showed up. I reused the car wiring and that's why I had to do this.
Check the voltage that G5 is getting. With a canbus module, I believe there is a wire from the canbus going to G5. If no voltage, make sure the pins are in properly.
FYI, if you are using a canbus and the steering wheel controls go through the canbus, then I believe that you cannot remap the keys.
The 12 V from the reverse wire are coming from your car (or in some cases from the canbox if the information gets transmitted from car to the box via canbus).
My suggestion is:
There is a separate reverse connection (usually a brown wire) on the head unit which triggers the radio to open the app which shows the image of the reverse cam.
You could even connect ACC or B+ to the reverse connection for testing purposes.

My "cam12V" wire is from the HU and it turns on when I am in reverse. Does this mean that this signal might be coming from my canbus? If so, is there another input back to the HU to trigger the screen to display the video feed? Only other wires I see are AMP related

Yes! It took me a while to figure this out.. mainly because I'll have to cut the wire (wasn't very confident in that)
and also.. the wires at Pin2 didn't make sense! They were more like Battery12V. I did cut and tested that.
So.. it turns out its a pink wire at pin3!
I realized this as I looked at my old Dasaita wires from the canbus connector. Since canbus is a standard, they should be comparable. That reverse wire went into Pin3.
I'm really surprised that Mekede and Navifly has this pin layout printed in all their listings.. but it's just wrong.

Yes it works now. Check out the images. The Pin2 (red) is probably ACC or batt 12V as there was no power when cut. I then cut the wire opposite it (pin10) in case I was looking at the connector wrongly. That turned out to be the headlight sensor.
After tracing the wire and comparing to my old Daisata, it turns out Pin3 (pink) is the reverse IN.

That means it makes sense to get the wiring diagram from the old radio of the car and compare it with the description of the new head unit.
In my case I had to completely rewire the harness (just if someone is interested):

I bought the Junsun V1 head unit but my Kia Ceed JD had a OEM nav unit which isn't directly compatible to Junsun V1. So I re-wired the wiring harness based on the pins description of my original OEM navigation unit. I'm only modifying the wiring...

The only thing that I could compare to (between old and new HUs) is the canbus connectors. Rest cannot be compared as they're all different.

Anyways, the current Mekede I have has Radio chip NX6686. My old Dasaita PX5 also has a NX6686. However, the radio reception is absolutely trash in the new one. I dont listen to radio that often (I can resort to streaming radio) but my dad takes the car occasionally and he's already complained about it
Your experience on the harness rewiring is pretty intense!
Update: Turns out my Antenna connector was a tad loose and I had to do a re-connect. The radio reception is all good now

So you found correct canbus settings and connections .. i cant find anything about you sharing them

Auto switching to Bluetooth input.

I have two cars, both have android head unit in them (android 9 and 10)
With both the head unit switches automatically from radio to the phone Bluetooth on incoming phone call. And switch back to the original source when the call ends.
But none of then will automatically switch from radio to Bluetooth on any other sound input from the phone.
I could not find an option to allow auto switching to Bluetooth input.
For example:
While in my car I usually connects the phone to the head unit using Bluetooth.
I then hear radio from the head unit and run Waze on my phone (I don’t run it in the head unit as I better see the phone without lowering my eyes from the road).
When Waze say something, I don’t hear it, as the sound go to the head unit and it will not switch from the radio.
Another situation is I would like the head unit to switch from radio to Bluetooth when I start a podcast on the phone.
Can this be done on android head unit?

Car Build: Giant Touchscreen + Phone? or Tablet + Headunit Reloaded?

I'm restoring a classic truck and doing some fabrication for a modern DIY headunit. Should I...
A) Mount a Galaxy Tab S8+, with a big beautiful screen, on my dash and connect to it with my phone via Headunit Reloaded?
-or-
B) Mount a big beautiful AMOLED touchscreen with similar specs on my dash and connect to it directly via HDMI out from the phone?
HR on a tablet seems great but there is some added complexity of HR not being supported in the future or Google bricking it with an update. Also I'd worry about leaving a LiPo in my truck. It would be idle potentially for over a week if I don't drive it, which could drain the tablet's battery, causing it to shut down fully, then requiring long bootup time.
I could get (pretty much) the same screen from aliexpress and mount that to the dash. No battery concerns. I'd just plug in the phone as soon as got in the car and then take the phone with me, running everything directly on the phone - audio out, etc. If I went this route, though, could I configure the resolution of the external monitor? Would driving mode work?
Anyone have experience here? Which approach would you choose? Why?
