Hi dear community!
Got a problem with the power button of my a510. Sometimes when the device is in standby and I want to switch it on by pressing the power button nothing happens and rest totally unresponsive. I have to push it like 10-20 times and even connect the charger to get reaction. Once the device is switched on the power button works normal. I suppose its some kind of freezing of the device in standby mode that blocks the power button. Is it a common problem and what can I do? Thanks in advance for advise!
First thing I would try is to reboot it (press power button for a few second and let it shut down, then restart it). If this is not helping I would hardreset it (reset hole left to power/usb-connector).
And if not this is making it better make a factory reset (from the settings). Keep in mind that you will loose all data and have to start from scratch with your tablet.
Thanks! One question though, do the hardreset from the hole left to power/usb-connector do the same thing as factory reset from the settings - loosing all the data?

Nope. The pinhole reset thingee is similar to the reset button on a CPU. It simply hard reboots the system (supposedly used when the device freezes, since we can't "pull the battery" like what we do with phones).
Reading through your OP though, I actually recommend sending the tablet back to the shop. I don't have that, nor have I heard of that issue.
I don't have this problem, you'd better send it to service.
I think I found the problem wnen seeing the log from the device. It's a freezing situation. The device become unresponsive and that's why the power button doesnt work when pressed. After second long press it reboots the device. So the button works.
In one of those freezings console says: Unsafe JavaScript attenmp to access frame with URL.. So I disabled java in the stock browser and will keep reading log for further freezes.
hi i was getting that issue.
a factory reset stopped it but recently it came back.
im overseas for 2 months asking acer the immeditaely said to return device for repair.
have to wait now.
Also jist the other day i got three freezes screen went pink completely.
once it went yellow.
i would sugest talk to acer as i know mine now is def faulty after the screen issue.

so I realized that a couple of days after buying the thing I disabled some of the apps that comes with it in order to save some RAM, but maybe disabling them causes other apps to misbehave. And thats why sometimes device freezes compleatly. Now I'm checking this theory. Sorry for my English.
What did you use to disable them?
From settings - > apps, then choose a system app and there is a option to disable it.
Another thing. So I'm playing a lot and when some game suddenly stop responding I force closing it. Even this game is already closed after like 10-15min. the device freezes and only rebooting it saves the situation.

I disabled alot of stock apps as well. My tab is running fine though. You can maybe list down what you've disabled and I'll confirm if they're disabled on mine too?
Couple of days observation lead me to the conclusion that the freezing is due to unresponding processes left in the memory most likely a high demanding 3d games such Dead trigger, Asphalt 7 or Dark knight.

It might be a bad freezing flash player mostly used through stock browser.
i tried this way too..but it freezes also when it's fresh from a hard reset
i don't know if it's an app issue...or whatever.
but i just got a new a510 as replacement of my old one that kept freezing...and also this replacement keeps freezing
i didn0t disable any native app...nor installed any new app. just got it...and freezes the same.
When watching flash video in stock browser and when exit watching, the browser sometimes freezes and needs to be force closed to function again. When left whitout force closing it eventually after some time causes general freeze. That's happening also when a game crashes and left in memory that way. Needs to force close everything that crashes. For example when watching HD Cams in Earthcam.com often browser crashes when closing it or when I play Tower Defense game crashes a lot. Afterwards the whole system freezes.
That's my assumption as above all monitoring I've done.
Let's hope Acer will have fix in Jelly Bean update.
in the newer firmwares are freezes still found? i noticed that all my italian friends stuck with 1044 experience them...maybe later ones solve it?
There is no new firmware, but will be most likely.
there are lots of ota after 1.044 ww.
germany is at 1.099 stock....

I've a funny problem with my tablet that is a Mediacom Smartpad 722i based on AML8726-M3.
When it is doing nothing, sometimes when i wakeup it, it remains locked on a black screen and i've to wait that it's battery is discharged or i've to put the charge connector and it wakeup.
When it wakeup and is unlocked or at the next reboot, the system data is on 02/01/1970 O.O and for 1-2 minutes it was very slowly.
I noticed that when it is on black screen, on the side of the touchscreen where is the CPU, the screen is hot and from the speakers the tablet put out some noice.
For this, i think when it is locked on black screen, it is doing something and for this the side of CPU is hot.
I think it is a problem of the stock ROM, the stock ROM is a 4.0.4 ICS.
Other users of other tablets resolved this problem with Clocksync, but in this case it was useless.
What do you think? How i can solve this problem?
The stock rom on the tablet is the last update from Mediacom.

This happens sometimes with all devices it is either an app or the system freezing wile the cpu is under a heavy load. When you press your power button dose the screen come on with a black glow or stay completely off. I would suggest doing a factory reset and check for any updates, or even better custom rom. I would suggest you dont use any restore features after your reset as this could restore the cause of the problem. I would suggest going on your computer to the play store installing all the apps you want remotely. Its faster atleast for me to scroll threw the website and set all my favorite apps to install then trying to scroll threw the store on my phone wile its slow from downloading apps.
I dont have your device but I have had a few tabs. There may be a reset button some where or try holding all the buttons for 15 seconds to restart your tab when it is frozen like this.

Hi all I've owned my kestrel for a little over 2 weeks. I have noticed a problem with my handset however, it seems if I record a video in 720p with the flash on sometimes the video fails to save and other times it saves the video but if I lock the screen and then try to unlock 10 seconds later nothing happens sometimes the soft keys light up but the screen does not power on. I have to hold the power button to force the device to reset before it is functional again.
I'm wondering if any other kestrel owners have noticed this and if there is a fix? (Would prefer to not have to restore factory settings)

I wish you having a nice day, here i come with an issue that im facing... The thing is that my Xperia XZ Premium freezes from time to time, sometimes when i unlock it i cant interact with the screen at all, it just show me the last screen i was in then nothing happens besides i click or swipe anything, sometimes im able to use the power botton and lock-unlock the phone and i can use it after that, sometimes it pops ''system ui stopped or not responding'' so press close it and then keep using the mobile and on other occasions i cant even use the power botton, it remains freezed and reboots 1 or 2 minutes later. The other inconvenience is that it just reboots sometimes, it can be in my desk just sitting and it reboots with no apperently reason.
Right now im running completly stock Android 9 with compilation number 47.2.A.10.80, didnt root it or made changes at all besides unistalling some bloatware, i tried software repair with xperia companion twice but it didnt help.
Hello, about week ago i have updated my OP 7 pro to beta 12 version, after that i have screen unlock problem (known bug for this version) and sudden black screen freezes
it happenes randomly while i want to launch some app, when i push on icon screen goes black and nothing happenes, after that i must push power button and volume up for force restarting my phone
who elese has the same problem? can debloating cause this problem? (i have deleted only deleted netflix and duo)
