After upgrading, if I try to share a photo from the photo gallery it crashes and doesn't work. I can share from a 3rd party app but not the inbuilt one. "Android system keeps stoppig"

OK, problem solved. I had Samsung Smart Suggestions disabled. I guess this is needed for some reason. Wasn't an issue before the software upgrade though.

Tried to do this today. Was in the grocery store trying to explain an item and figured I'd just take a picture of it to send. Got this message about Camera cannot be activated while using the phone. Are you serious? Why not? I used this feature all the time on my former OS(Symbian). Is there a workaround to this?
I can't say this for a fact, but try using a third party camera application. Samsung's captivate camera app seems to have some odd limitations on it.
third party apps work fine
Hi Comrades,
I have some concerns with Camera Zoom FX app, I purchased it from store to avail its futures but noticed that it completely override stock camera app in my Androids, Nexus S and Nexus 4.
I uninstalled the app, but I couldn't find stock camera app anywhere, not even under disabled apps. It is completely gone! on either devices.
More over, when I installed the FX I realized that it doesn't have the capabilities to capture Video nor the stock app is visible to capture. I am little frustrated. I wasn't able to find any solution for this anywhere, I do know the last resort being to flash the ROM or do a recovery. I am not considering them as my options due to volume of data I have on these devices.
I want to remove this crap FX camera app and get my stock camera app. FX might have tons of features but its no good for my limited requirements.
Kindly help...
Thanks in advance.

Try turning off Photos Sync, Picasa Sync and auto upload by Google +, Facebook and so on.
Turn off any photo syncing and after that make sure you delete the gallery cache.
Unfortunately, everything was already turned off. I turned it on then off again thinking that it was bugged, but nope. Folders are still there. When i delete them and quit the gallery app, they just come back again.

MediaScanner is not running correctly , thanks @It_ler for the hint. :highfive:
On some devices, connecting/disconnecting of the USB cable triggers the MediaScanner.
Here Rescan Media app from Play store to simply call the system's MediaScanner process.
If you don't want that the Gallery to show pics from special folders you can try to place a file called ".nomedia" into the folder(s).
Then trigger the media scanner again.
Thanks for your help but the app doesn't work (Crash right on startup), i tried other apps doing the same thing and all of them crash on startup or when i press the scan button. I'm not at home right now so i can't say much about the .nomedia trick. I think my root is just really ****ed up... I should unroot and start on a clean device. If you have any other possible solution feel free to post it!

I recently got the XZ Premium and noticed that my DropBox app is not uploading photos as it is supposed to. I have found out that disabling camera upload and enabling it again will make the phone upload again. I tried just opening the DropBox app to see if it will allow it upload but it did not work. Anybody else having this issue? Is it a problem with Sony killing background apps?

I have the same issue but I thought it's the problem with app itself (or Android version) not the phone.
Just to clarify, the app is uploading the photos but with a huge delay, I guess someone else with different phone on Oreo should comment on that issue.

I have another phone that is running Android 6.0.1 and DropBox runs fine on that without requiring me to disable / enable camera uploads so I don't think it's the app. It can either be Android 8.0 or Sony but I'm suspecting that it's Sony's battery management software. I have tried putting DropBox in the "Power-saving exceptions" in the "Apps & notifications" menu but that didn't seem to work either.
I tried that for 1st time on WhatsApp & then I noticed some battery drain. I uninstalled the cloned app, but in Apps, I still see cloned apps created automatically by the service such as Android system webview & Google play services with no uninstall/disable buttons.
Is there a way to get rid of these please?

hello has anyone heard of a solution for this issue or if one was already provided in this comment's original thread, can a lick be provided for it? i think I'm having the same issue from the context of this comment. Maybe the only difference is that my phone is not rooted which im sure will end up being a factor in whether there is anyway to resolve this or not. samsung galaxy j7 pro j7271 wth it has too many names out there lol. meteopcs 2017 variant if that helps. nonrooted 8.1 and trying to stay that way if possible as this is my only phone. thanks for your time!

Try clearing data of Dual Messenger in Settings - Apps & then disable/freeze it. I don't remember how I fixed it but since I'm using custom roms, I think I wiped data in twrp after backing up me apps & reinstalling the rom.
On stock rom if disabling the app doesn't work, u may have to reset.

Thanks! For some reason, I'm cannot disable it. I'll give resetting a try and post back whether that works or not. I had considered resetting, but was being stubborn trying to figure out another way.
Success Uninstalling Shadow Services
I have a Samsung S8 and was facing the same issue when I searched for "Uninstall Dual Messenger" and found this thread. I resolved the issue and decided to return here and say what I did to get them all uninstalled. I didn't have a "Secure Folder" also, I already opened the "Dual Messenger" setting and disabled the available options. The missing step for me was to go to Apps > ANT+ and click Force Stop and Disable. I had already uninstalled "Copy Of Messenger" when I discovered that it doesn't remove the copy of play services and everything else. Removing the ANT+ App removed about five or six "Copy Of.." Apps as well. I hope this is enlightening. After removing all of your Dual Apps, Copy Of.. Apps & Secure Folder, Remove the ANT+ App. On Galaxy S8 With The Latest Updates As Of 6/9/20 I alas successfully removed the remnant shadow service copies that were associated with Dual Messenger.

Hey so I dont have the App ANT+ installed. I checked with other Apps that list all system Apps as well but there's no ANT+ App. Any idea how to do it?
