Title pretty much says it all. Was working fine until I updated to A12. Every time it gets to the 90-95% it hangs and says ''there was an error during the restore process blah blah.."
I've tried the usual suspects like clearing cache, deleting and then re downloading the app. No dice.
Can someone that's on Android 12 and that has this app go to settings- Account- viber backup and see if it works?
Any advice is much appreciated!
backup works here. didn't try to restore though. if restore is issue maybe check viber has all permissions granted

Finally got it to work. I'm thinking Viber did something from their end to fix the hang up since it now completes the backup all the way through. No issues with restoring at all since that worked from the beginning.

Have you tried clearing data from settings and trying again?
yes, i thought that implied when i said I renamed the apk and rebooted, meaning reinstalling it. I did clear data and cache several times before I reinstalled it however.
This is still going on man? i would flash back to stock and see if it still does it.

Go to settings 》application settings and try clearing the data for the application

try and uninstall it and re-install if you are able.. something could have gotten screwy ... also.. a lot of the google apps tend to sometimes have issues after updates.. you could just try and uinstall the most recent update and see if it still occurs..

I cannot uninstall the app. there is no such option. i uninstalled update and this error message shows up non-stop.
keep having the problem the entire day. what can I do? thanks
I uninstalled updates and the error shows up like craxy. Then, I went to playstore to reinstall update. Still get the error shown on the topic. Is there anything that I could do besides a factory reset?

are you rooted?if you are, you can use Titanium Backup to uninstall the app (think you might have to buy the pro if you dont have in order to mess with system apps, but if you dont own and are rooted, 1 of the few apps very worth buying).
if you do this, then you can go and reinstall from playstore as a fresh install..
if those don't work, then factory reset/odin back to stock may be needed..
also, if rooted you could try using a rom and flash that as an option..
My device is not rooted. Is there a way to solve the problem without rooting?
Only other thing I'd try prior to a factory reset would be to remove your google account information and then add it back in (settings - general - accounts). This may reset GAPPS (google apps) to the point where maps works again.
Did you by any chance delete or deactivate several Google processes? Like Google Services?
Hello, I'm getting a message "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" when I miss a phone call and the same when I swipe the missed called notification.
But it's fine if I answer calls and make calls, it only happens when I get a missed call...
Any ideas what's wrong?

Dont know what is wrong but there is three solution to solve this
#1:- By clearing the data
Surfing internet we could find that many people recommend to do a data clear to resolve this issue. In your android smartphone, it is very easy to clear data. For clearing data,
Go to Settings
Application Manager
Choose All Application
Below Contacts Storage choose “Clear all data”.
Now Restart your device
The above steps have slight changes from mobile to mobile. Try to find out the similar steps in your mobile yourself.
#2:- Resetting your device
You can also try a factory reset of your mobile phone to resolve this. Do factory reset only if the first method didn’t worked for you. For performing a factory reset,
Go to Settings
Backup & reset
factory Reset
Doing a factory reset will delete all of your data and applications. So be careful to do a backup if you are proceeding with this step.
#3: Changing the OS
This is recommended to those are facing Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped message after updating their device or changing the static os to a custom version.

Thanks...went through all those options already + more , nothing could fix it, even the few recovery backups that I had...so a reset was the only solution...
So I decided to start from scratch and go down the long way, flashed .93 rom then root and working my way back up from there manually as I can't restore any backups otherwise the error reappears...
This kinda sucks but that's the only way right now...unless somebody got a better insight of the situation, I still would like to know how to fix it without a reset
At least I got a clean backup now without the error
[SOLVED]
EDIT:
OK found the cause of the problem, at least in this case...I did freeze Xperia Home with Titanium Backup at some point since I used a different launcher ( something I didn't do at the beginning when I switched launcher)...this was the root of my problem getting com.android.phone has stopped when getting a missed call, so a simple defrosting of the app worked

Thank you, it's working.. Having my rom heavily modified, and the cause just simple as defrosting..
I have two problems with my lg g3 att rooted phone.
1st Problem - I have tried to get rid of the android.process.acore error but have had no luck THIS time. (Last time part of the fix was completely uninstalling the facebook app from my phone). This time (and last time) I cleared caches, stopped them, deleted my contacts and the contacts storage, unclicked the app sync button.... I can't really remember what else I did to restore it to normal.
2nd problem - So I clicked on update software from ATT and a TWRP v.2.8.6.0 screen comes up. I don't know what to do with it. Do I click install, restore, reboot, backup? Can I just undo this and try and find some other way to remove the android.process.acore error message without losing all my data with a factory reset? If this twrp is complicated I would prefer to just undo what I just did. I really need some help as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

I am having the same problem and not sure what to do about it. I restart my phone, and it seems to be ok for a while, but then it starts popping up again. I have an AT&T LG G3 (LG - D850), not rooted phone. I have tried to reset all app preferences, but that didn't seem to do anything really. Could really use some help! Thanks!

I flashed another rom and it didn't work.. I don't know what happened but after a lot of upgrades of the application passed in system, I decided to unistall it from Link2SD and magically now works. I'll try on stock soon..
