I've replaced battery, but still the tablet shows the old capacity! - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, there
tablet : galaxy note pro p-901 / android 5.0.1 / 9500mAh battery
I've replaced the battery twice, but seems it still stayed on 2100mAh!
Could U pls tell me What should I do, now?
Cheers

Try clearing the system cache.
Discharge until auto shutdown.
Charge to 100%, repeat 2 more times.
Make sure your SOT reflect what the new battery capacity should be.

I did it several times, but doesn't fix the problem at all
Goddamn Galaxy note pro

Where do you check battery capacity?

My tablet is reporting too battery capacity as 2100mAh in phone info app for Samsung.
What is wrong here?

Sorry I'm off-subject but where did you find a battery?
Mine runs flat within 3 hours and although I got a S8 ultra I still love my Note pro

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note I Battery Dead?

Hello.
I have Samsung Galaxy Note I GT-N7000 I have problem... serious. I was watching Netflix and recharging my phone. Then i got warning of low battery and it turned off after 5 minutes and it was "charging" Well then i leaved and next day, i but it to charge. Battery image appeared to screen and was there about 10 seconds. After 2 hours of waiting i tried to start the phone but it didn't. Now i tested the voltage of the battery and how ever (-0.00 V) No life in whole battery Then my dad told me to take out the battery from phone and leave it to table for an hour and check does it work.
Does anyone else have/had problem where Battery has died?
Can it be fix'd?
I tried cleaning Micro-USB port!
Thanks.

How long have you had the battery? They don't have a very long lifespan and die quite dramatically. If you put it on a flat surface can you see its bloated and spins easily? If so it's definitely gone and needs replacing.

[Q] Battery problem

Hey guys I am a long time Android enthusiast. I have one of the most popular Samsung devices which is the Samsung Galaxy fit. The problem with my Samsung Galaxy Fit is the battery. Earlier before any tweaking battery used to be normal. After I installed CM7(official build). My battery started draining randomly. At first it was ignorable but then the problem became severe. From 100% it would drop to 88% in just 2 mins use and then from 88% it wud drop to 70% in another 5 mins and the entire phone would be dead in just 3 hours at best. When I would charge the phone again the battery will also be charged randomly going from 5% to 20% and then 20% to 40% all this in just 10 mins. In no less than 20 mins would my phone be 100% charged but that's fake as the battery would drain from 100% to 0% in three hours.
Following are the solutions are tried
Changed the batter, used a brand new original battery(FAIL - DID NOT WORK)
Flashed stock Rom (FAIL - PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS)
Changed Charger (FAIL)
Recharged battery on a different phone and then inserted the battery in fit (FAIL)
If anyone has any solution please let me know. I AM ALSO WILLING TO DONATE IF PROBLEM GETS SOLVED.

Hope this will help you..
1. after flashing custom ROMS, back to recovery or CWM then wipe the battery stats.
2. calibrate the battery while device is on, i ussually use Mugen Power app (install app, choose the standard battery, charge until 100% then click calibrate, after that use the device until the phone is dead then charge until 100% again while device is off).
other Calibration apps ussually have the same steps like the steps i mentioned above, so just use one app..
3. if you still having the battery drain, maybe you should go check the hardware in some technician, coz it could be the hardware that has the problems.

need help for battery issue of Note Edge Korean version N915S

First, sorry for my bad English.
But i am very very need your help now.
I've just buy a Note Edge (Korean version SM-N915S) from ebay.
Everything seems okay except an issue which made me sick for 2 weeks ago:
- My battery works well with over 5 hours of SCREEN-ON-TIME but:
- When my battery ran out to 0%, after phone turned-off, I remove the battery to remove the simcard.
- Then I just plugged-in my battery back, and connect the phone to the charger.
- I charge my phone in OFF-STATE for about 20~30 % of battery (oftenly is 35%), and then disconnect the charger, then I remove the battery again to plug my simcard in to the phone.
- After plugged-in simcard & battery, I connect my phone again to the charger, and what the hell ??? It say my phone got 4x% of battery (oftenly 48%).
- I turn my phone on, tried to turn it on-off, connect and disconnect the charger for a while but nothing changed, it is still 48%.
- I've heard about the "wrong/virtual battery issue on Android" before, so I start to use this phone to track the battery's working status, but no problem, my battery works normally like it have 48% instead of 35% (as I known, if it's a virtual/wrong battery, the battery will drain as fast as 35% instead of 48%, or the phone will turn-off suddenly while the battery still 10~15% remaining).
- The question is: What's the exact problem ? If 13% more of battery is real battery, so the phone have the ability to charge 13% in 1 minute ?? If it's wrong/virtual battery, why doesn't it work wrong ?
Just tested on many ROMs: both stock firmware & custom ROM, both KitKat & Lollipop, I did every thing I can: clear the batterystats.bin, calibrate the battery, factory reset, full wipe, stock charger, QC 2.0 and none-QC 2.0 charger, replace battery...etc... but it still happen at any firmware, any charger, any batterya I installed.
- I'm very sad for 2 weeks recently just for re-test this procedure again and again, because this phone cost me a lot, I very love Note Edge but I dont have too much money so i have to buy a secondhanded phone Biểu tượng cảm xúc frown
And in my country, the Note Edge have the limited-sell method, there're only 1000 phones over the country, so I can't find anyone else who also own it to compare, or find that their phone have this issue or not, to take a sure that it is or it isn't the hardware problem of my phone (if every Note Edge have this issue too).
So please help me, XDA members Biểu tượng cảm xúc frown I need you to do a same procedure to compare with me, thanks in advance.
Perhaps flashing my SkyHigh TW LL kernel will help...... and then install Synapse app.
I have implemented Battery Scaling Calibration in the BATTERY section. Just follow the instructions in thread to flash and within Synapse itself.

Battery Issues Continued

Okay I have N915A (AT&T) and been having battery issues for about a year. I figured I'd wait to see if Marshmallow fixed the problem and it did not. I have bought 3 "OEM" batteries from 3 different sources and all result in similar outcomes. Initially my phone would die as early as 70% and reboot with ~2% battery life and die again. After replacing the battery, it improved to around 30-40% until same result. The third battery (current), it happens anywhere between 10-30%.
Anyone else having these issues?
Battery stats are attached for today's usage.
I have had a similar issue with the original battery and now with the replacement. Whenever I have 15% left or less, it will immediately shut down.

Mine always died during 15%, did a cache delete, it did solve for a while, now shut down at 12%, it is said that it's a mm issue, not flashing the battery status well.

I went through the same thing with the battery issue. I came from KitKat, upgraded to Lollipop. I was fine for couple months and got hit with the battery drain. Downgraded to KitKat and waited for Marshmallow upgrade while dealing with huge battery drain. Marshmallow came and was excited. Upgrade to Marshmallow and a month into it, battery drain showed up again. Did a complete factory reset and back to KitKat again and still dealing with battery drain, but not as bad before. I can still manage to get it drain to 15% before it starts rebooting/boot loop. This is the best I can get without buying a new battery.
And I was eagerly waiting for the Note 7 exploding fiasco to be fixed so that I can upgrade to a new safe Note 7, but that too ended quickly. There is no new phone I am that excited other than the LG V20.
I'll just keep the Note EDGE for the meantime and deal with the battery drain. I have a huge Anker 26800 Powerbank I purchased to keep the Note Edge chugging along on the road.
before I lose mine previous note 3, kit kat was great, never had any battery issue, on note edge one thing I noticed the was last 15% to 0% is quite weak like it doesn't hold any charge or something
The batteries for this phone are absolute trash. I had 2 from day one and within a year neither would hold a charge more than a few hours. I replaced both and the new ones lasted fine for a month or so, but then they started having the same issue. They discharge very quickly, and anytime the battery drops below 35% charge, it could shut down at any time. Thought the Note 7 would fix this, but now I'm back on the Edge until I can bail to something else.
Can confirm. OEM battery died in 8 months. Bought used OEM batteries, have no problems with the phone switching off as such, but very poor battery life (dies in 6 hours of little usage) and overheating. The best I could do since Samsung refuses to manufacture these batteries anymore and the cheap ripoffs are horrible. I should have stuck with my entry level Asus zenfone, a third of the price and much much much more reliable.

Did you guys check the date of manufacturing? Gonna give anker brand battery a try when mine show signs of weakness

What is the Battery Health % shown in Phone Info(Samsung) app

Hi all! Today I have received my Note 10 and did transfer data from my S10e. All went well as usual. Played with the phone for an hour or so. I then launched Phone Info app and Personal tab showed my phone's battery health at 99.4% and discharge cycle is 0(never charged phone yet). I thought strange... I plugged the phone in as the battery % was at 31. While phone was charging, I kept checking battery health through Phone info app and it went down to 97.5%.
As an example: I have S10e which I owned for 2+ months and battery health is shown as 100% and discharge cycle is 19, which is about right.
Could it be that the phone is new and was never charged to let the battery calibrate itself and system to realize that?
Link to app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
If this app is correct, I may need to exchange/return device. Can anyone check their Note 10 or maybe Note 10+ for the battery health info?
I tried to factory reset device couple of times, but the battery health is around 98%. Other Samsung phone that I had, showed 100% especially when new.
I think that software is unreliable I think you should just enjoy your phone.

I would have to agree, I installed the app last night and it said my battery health was like 40%.
I've had this app for awhile didn't realize the battery health section. Mine is saying 40% as well. I wouldnt worry about it
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
My 10+ also shows 40. My SOT is ~9.5hrs. Go figure.
Same as me. I installed phone info and show health 40%
My Note 10+ shows 40.1%, and I do think you need a rooted device to make that app reliable.
A brand new battery often shows 94 - 97% health on a rooted device.
The battery gets better and better after several charge/discharge cycles done the right way, up until a point where it starts to drop from the charging cycles.
If you always let you phone die or go under 20% and then charge to 100% it will degrade faster.
I have tried this on both S8 and S9 with root.
