need help for battery issue of Note Edge Korean version N915S - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First, sorry for my bad English.
But i am very very need your help now.
I've just buy a Note Edge (Korean version SM-N915S) from ebay.
Everything seems okay except an issue which made me sick for 2 weeks ago:
- My battery works well with over 5 hours of SCREEN-ON-TIME but:
- When my battery ran out to 0%, after phone turned-off, I remove the battery to remove the simcard.
- Then I just plugged-in my battery back, and connect the phone to the charger.
- I charge my phone in OFF-STATE for about 20~30 % of battery (oftenly is 35%), and then disconnect the charger, then I remove the battery again to plug my simcard in to the phone.
- After plugged-in simcard & battery, I connect my phone again to the charger, and what the hell ??? It say my phone got 4x% of battery (oftenly 48%).
- I turn my phone on, tried to turn it on-off, connect and disconnect the charger for a while but nothing changed, it is still 48%.
- I've heard about the "wrong/virtual battery issue on Android" before, so I start to use this phone to track the battery's working status, but no problem, my battery works normally like it have 48% instead of 35% (as I known, if it's a virtual/wrong battery, the battery will drain as fast as 35% instead of 48%, or the phone will turn-off suddenly while the battery still 10~15% remaining).
- The question is: What's the exact problem ? If 13% more of battery is real battery, so the phone have the ability to charge 13% in 1 minute ?? If it's wrong/virtual battery, why doesn't it work wrong ?
Just tested on many ROMs: both stock firmware & custom ROM, both KitKat & Lollipop, I did every thing I can: clear the batterystats.bin, calibrate the battery, factory reset, full wipe, stock charger, QC 2.0 and none-QC 2.0 charger, replace battery...etc... but it still happen at any firmware, any charger, any batterya I installed.
- I'm very sad for 2 weeks recently just for re-test this procedure again and again, because this phone cost me a lot, I very love Note Edge but I dont have too much money so i have to buy a secondhanded phone Biểu tượng cảm xúc frown
And in my country, the Note Edge have the limited-sell method, there're only 1000 phones over the country, so I can't find anyone else who also own it to compare, or find that their phone have this issue or not, to take a sure that it is or it isn't the hardware problem of my phone (if every Note Edge have this issue too).
So please help me, XDA members Biểu tượng cảm xúc frown I need you to do a same procedure to compare with me, thanks in advance.

Perhaps flashing my SkyHigh TW LL kernel will help...... and then install Synapse app.
I have implemented Battery Scaling Calibration in the BATTERY section. Just follow the instructions in thread to flash and within Synapse itself.

battery drain problem on my SPVC600

I have 2 SPVC600 phones and one is not even 24 hours in standby before the battery goes empty, whereas the other phone is in standby several days. I tried several different "virgin" ROMs on both phones, several different batteries, still the same problem, one phone just sucks the energy out of the battery like crazy.
Anybody knows where the problem is and how it could be fixed?
Thanks

Same Here...
Hi, i know that this is a old thread, but... the same issue here, i have a T-mobile SDA, replace the original battery that come with the phone 2 years ago, this battery die and ebay a fresh battery again, but... nothing, goes empty in less than 13 hours with the fresh and new battery (with the old one at least 4 hours before die under nitrogen´s wm6 rom), any suggestion? (i clean the phone of programs, change roms, downgrade to original WM5 but... nothing, only 12 to 14 hours and empty ), the new battery is a "OEM ST26" from sanyo...
Until this day, my tornado was the more reliable and trust phone that i´ve had
Can you recommend me any procedure for test the phone... do you think that is a usb connection Issue, i read in a lot of threads that this could be Rom upgrade... ´coz the new drivers, componets, etc.... any help ir really appreciated
Greetings from Colombia...
Usually the original batteries are the best you can get. Even the (now very old) original ones (Sanyo ST26-C) still have their original capacity and I have not seen a single battery of these that has failed until now.
If you see such a drain from the device you could possibly disassemble the device and clean it. If that does not help - sad :-(
Does it make difference if you charge the battery on the device being off or while OS is running?
If you have volt-meter: what is th battery-voltage when empty/fully loaded?
Hi Tobbie, thanks for the reply, yeah, i follow all procedures for battery maintance, i try charge with the phone off, phone on (with radio turned on and off, really i only see a difference of only 1 1/2 hours...), this night i try clean with isopropilic alcohol the contacs between battery an phone and i see... i noted something peculiar:sometimes when i plug the AC Adapter or connecting to my desktop, the led indicator (in this case orange), dont turn on, sometime this led appars and dissapear passing 20 seconds but full charge the phone (i see this in seetings=> energy configuration => 100%)... other times this light is hold until this change to green (fully charged), but ever the same result, lees than 12 Hours... this happen with both batteries (old one and fresh buyed from a reliable seller 15 days ago...)
I download awhile the service manual for tornado but... Scare... i really love this phone, really i have now a LG Incite, but this phone is my "backup", coz all time buy and sell phones, but this since 2005 "sleep with me...", if after clean contacts i dont see any change or fix... No mercy with tornado´s LOL...
and i want with all neighborhoods a voltimeter, can you tell me about the standar values for this battery (my knowlodgement about electronics are limited a lot), i post my results here after my test...)
Thanks a lot, i hope that you can help me later (and sorry for my ugly english)

This sounds weird, but the only reasonable source of evil is that also your other battery (equally aged, but unused probably) is chemically dead. It hardly ever happens that the charge-electronics is going mad somehow. With the many Tornado that I had on my desk, not a single one had problems with this part. For some devices I have seen that the batteries were stone dead - and these behave as you describe it.
It looks as if the battery has lost its capacity. A fully charged battery has a capacity of roughly 1100 mAh. With a drain of ~75mA (for the fully lit display) this will last 14h and 40 minutes. So a similar power drain would have to suck the juice off the battery - which I doubt that anything will do. If you switched off all radio parts (GSM, WLAN + BT) there is nothing left that drains the battery like this.
You could try to check how long the batteries will last when you have the display light draining the battery additionally. For this part it is well known how much it drains (see above) - and if you see that the battery lasts half the time of what you said before - then the battery is ok and the device has some mysterious power drain. If however the battery only lasts a few minutes with this defined load - then it is surely dead.
Check the battery capacity link in my signature to get the tooling for measuring this easily.
Voltages should be measured with a digital Voltmeter if you have access to one. They are for dead batteries not much different to good ones if you do not apply load, but a fully charged LiIon has around 4,2 V and discharged in a Tornado around 3,55 V.
The Tornado will shut off at around 3,55 V but if the Voltage is much higher when removing the battery and measuring the Voltage - another hint for a dead battery.
Good luck

Moto Maxx never going below 15% battery

My Moto Maxx is never going below 15% battery for quite some time.
I was running CM 12.1 before and I am running the CM 13.0 preview now.
The problem now seems much worse.
This could be my battery dying?
Wait its not going below 15% or above 15%? Also, did you flash the ROM with a clean wipe (no dirty flash)?
Another thing to note is that the CM 13.0 Build is a "PREVIEW" which means that there are a TON of bugs in there. I would advise you go back to CM 12.1 for the time being.
It is never going below 15%.
On CM12.1 it also happened.
When it reaches 15% percent, the phone shuts down and needs to be charged.
After sometime charging, it displays the battery as above 15% and I can turn it on again.
Mine had always done that at 5 percent. Here lately it's closer to 7 percent.
I'm on original 5.0.2 and also facing that issue... I've heard onde it's related to the use of non original chargers, or even QI chargers... Never got rid of it, even after a full wipe/factory reset...
I've had this problem too and made a post over in the Droid Turbo forums but no one ever replied..
At least I'm not the only one that has this problem.
Yeah I've always had this issue between 5-8% on my three Turbos. Stock Rom and other flavors. They all shut the phone down around there.
Solved the problem with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newagetools.batdoc&hl=pt_BR
Now my battery goes down to 1% again, yahoo!!!!
how can that app fix it?? i would think its a placebo effect as i see dificult for an app to read or fix battery info...
maybe it locks out the bad parts (like an old chkdsk on a HD)
anyway i will tryit if i see it tries to go rogue with the Ads it Dies..
Batteries in laptops and phones have a file that keeps track of battery life. They use this to estimate percentage.

still having this issue
I have the same problem. It started as shutting down at %5, then %7, now it's %15 shuts down.
The same thing on my XT1254. It shuts down near 5%, I will try to charge it with my old i9505 charger, it could be a problem related to TurboCharger.
Hello guys,
My girlfriend's phone had this issue some months ago, what I did in order to fix this issue was:
1) Let the battery drain until phone shutdown. (try to turn on again until you cannot)
2) Fully charge with an original Motorola charger (phone turned off)
3) When it reached 100%, turn on the phone but enter in the fastboot mode and wipe caches
4) Uses the phone normally and let reaches 0%.
Making these steps, the battery back to have a "normal" behaviour

I´ll perform these steps, thank you
Although you see the battery as percentage, the operating system does not see it that way. It uses lower limit voltage of the battery to shut down the device in order to extend battery life. Batteries do not like to get and stay deep discharged (below low level voltage)...if you do this frequently, you will severely hamper your battery's life.

More in depth description of the problem
I Purchased a NOTE EDGE Used about 2 weeks ago, I was told the problem was a generic battery causing the phone to overheat, I bought A New battery which somewhat solved the overheating problem however upon using the phone even with a new battery I noticed there still is significant battery drain in a short time. Also When the phone is completely off the battery still drains at a fast rate, If plugged in the battery doesn't die but charges extremely slowly even with a rapid charger and rapid charge activated. Another Issue that I have is when I remove the battery the phone will not turn back on once its back inside unless plugged in and when I connect by usb to the computer it shows connected on the phone and on the computer but in programs such as Odin it doesn't show up unless I remove and re install the battery multiple times I've done all I can think of to fix this ( bought a new battery, tried re flashing the firmware, Shut off all unused apps and turned off all data Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, dimmed the screen, battery saver etc.. ) the phone drains regardless even when phone is completely powered down.
@Vatsal
sounds like a PCB having a problem. Maybe the charging circuit

N.m. just googled it
After I updated to 6.0.1 update on my note edge , once the battery reaches 49% it just turns off , it doesn't turn on , while I put it for recharge the battery charge shows 49% and it turns on.
I have done 3 factory resets still the problem arise. I did factory reset to clear cache and to clear any errors in apps. This is my primary phone for work and I need to carry power bank all the time. Please assist
Time to change the battery. It is not about the percentage of the battery. It is more about that the voltage breaking. As it seems the battery can not longer hold its voltage due to battery age. When the voltage breaks, the device will automatically shut down to due low voltage

the only solution i see is to stop buying original battery replacment since it might not be the issue , rather slap a zerolemon 9000 mah battery on , it looks like a tank but at least the battery last lol.
Im still having trouble with mines too, injust dont understand why phone is draining battery while off and fast . You ciuld feel the heat off the phone while off...
Maybe you should try to get an extended battery pack? here's what i tried - so far so good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i70xqUNoYVE

Weird battery drain - 1% per second even when charging

Hi, I decided to post this in a new thread because it's a different behavior from others I've seen in this forum. If the admin says I shouldn't, I can delete it and post it on other thread!
Posted videos of the issue:
https://youtu.be/3Fk4TffxwZM
https://youtu.be/35tlCmMBL8s
My nexus 5 had a custom ROM, unrooted, simple apps (facebook, twitter, etc) and original screen and battery.
After crashing the screen, I bought a new one plus a new battery. Immediately after connecting the new screen plug and the new battery plug, the flat cable started to overheat, and the screen never turned on - ok, something is bogus. I tried again with the old battery and had the same problem. So, the screen must be no good, I just reinstalled the other broken one that still works.
However, since then, the cellphone always is turned on with 100% battery even knowing that it is not fully charged. And, a little while after, it starts to drain, 1% per second, even when I'm charging it, untill it turns off, or - sometimes - get back to 100%.
While on bootloader, it never turn itself off, thou. But if I turn it on, sometimes this happens, sometimes the cell only works untill the lockscreen and immediately turns itself off - even while charging or hours after charging. (pls check the youtube videos)
What i have tried:
Change the charger and cable
Use original charger
Switch back to the old battery (same problem)
Reinstall ROM
Reinstall Original ROM from google
Wipe batterystats.bin (I know, I know, just in case)
Install battery calibration apps
Root and install battery calibration apps
Charge to 100%, let it drain to 20% and recharge (thou it constantly drops)
Charge all night
Wait to drain a lot and charge again
Wait to drain a bit and charge again...
And nothing worked.
I saw no similar issue on this forum, even on the "battery drain while charging" posts, they're not exactly the same issue.
So... is it possible that crappy screen broke my both batteries? Anyone know what else could I try?

Hey, did u ever figure out the reason ? I'm having a similar issue.. maybe we can work together n figure smthn out
sorry bro, I just gave up. It was too much to pay for another screen or new parts; I never discovered what the real problem was =(

Figured out the problem and fixed it. Posting it here in case someone has this issue, so after trying everything from getting a new battery to installing different roms, installing various apps rooted and not to see what's draining my battery. Funny how the phone was never going into deep sleep. Anyway long story short the problem was hardware, I changed the flex cable, the whole strip, some may call it the charging strip. Now it's fixed charges to 100% in 2 hours and battery lasts all day.
