Greetings. Had issues with reception on Pixel 6 so went with my prior Pixel 5a. Pixel 5a updated then decided to gobble up battery. Like 20% in a few hours of doing nothing. Battery app said google fi was offending app.
Changed to Pixel 4a and so far behaving well. Thank goodness
Utilizing dual sim with Fi eSim and Verizon mvno for hard sim. Was getting 5G but not available with 4a.
My question: is 5G driver issue with this update? 4A has, since pulled, Dec patch installed and no issues.
Not going to change anything right now just being curious.
TIA for your input.

Pixel 2 XL WiFi is not stable, my router just sits next to my bedroom. But since I got Pixel 2 XL I often got the issue disconnected to WiFi and quickly connect again which is quite annoying. It's not because of too far from the router and still 3/4 bars of WiFi signal. There is no problem with my original Pixel XL and other phones.
Even I reset the network it's still having the same problem.
Not sure it's hardware or software problem. But Google please fix it.
Wrong forums...this is for the Pixel 2, not the Pixel 2 XL...also you need to post on the Google Forums or reach out through the support chat on the phone to get help.

My HTC built Pixel 2 does this as well.
So this may be more of a Fi question but it also relates to the 4a. Since getting my 4a I've seen a couple of articles talking about setting up the eSim on Fi in addition to the physical sim (also Fi) to improve reception which I find to be a bit worse than the Pixel 4. Has anyone heard of this and or done it? Did it improve anything?
Ever since I purchased this phone back in September I've constantly had issues with my data connection.
Some days are worse than others, but days like today I have to cycle airplane mode every few minutes just to get connected again.
Technical support initially thought it was my SIM so I got the R5 sim but the issue wasn't resolved. I also did the reset of all network connections as well to no avail.
These issues make the phone downright infuriating to use many times a day. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction for a solution
Ive had every note since the 8 and one plus since they offered them on TMobile. I also have the Xperia 1 ii and pixel 4s.
Every single phone beats the Samsung's in signal. It's a Samsung thing.
Don't think it's a Samsung thing! I've had Samsung and Notes since the Note 2 and live in the country quite away from any towers. Still getting 80Mbps on 5G just the same as my OnePlus 7 Pro. Have you checked with T-Mobile and made sure the correct APN is assigned?
Lately I noticed that my data drops when I'm calling with my Pixel 4a. Does anyone knows how to fix this? I've reset the network settings, deleted APN settings, reboot etc but nothing works do far. I've called Google but they only give me the "fixes" I've just mentioned.
Nobody?
Still nothing but did some tests :
I've put my sim in my friends Samsung S20 and it works fine.
I've put my friends sim in my Pixel 4a and have the same problem.
My girlfriend has also a Pixel 4a and has the same problem.
Conclusion so far : The problem is with the Pixel 4a, not with the sim
Today I've putted another sim in my Pixel 4a (different provider) and this time I had no data drop when calling.
New conclusion : My provider's sim and the Pixel 4a don't like each other
Depending on carrier, If it switches to 3G that means that the carrier's network does not have sufficient capacity for VoLTE and LTE is only for data.
Mine provider does this and i see it switching before a call.
Well it doesn't make sense to me at all. My carrier's sim does work flawless in a Samsung.
I have a new 6a and use the googlefi network. I migrated the data from my 4a to the 6a with a cable. Everything looked fine but today I see that my phone call logs did not migrate. I chatted with Google support and they said use 3rd party app. I migrated my wife's 3a to a 6a and the call logs came through. Any help???
