Development [Kernel][1.6.2022] Sekiyama 1.3 for Moto G Stylus 5G "osaka" - Moto G Stylus 5G

Sekiyama-Kernel for Moto G Stylus 5G
The kernel is based on sources from @Electimon which can be found here.
Features:
Main Features:
- Based on kernel sources from Motorola
- New performance based scheduler "dragrace" which prefers max clocks during screen usage.
Your battery milage will vary. With heavy usage I average about 10% for every 3 hours of background playback while still maintaining overall battery life when I forgo usage.
- Exfat support for external SD Cards
- Disabled ZRam
To improve memory latency
- Updated to 5.4.147 (stock is 5.4.61) thanks @Electimon
- This kernel is non-modular! All vendor modules are baked into the kernel. This includes sensors, audio, networking, and display.
- Use bbr as default TCP congestion algorithm (fastest algo according to this excellent research from @kdrag0n found here )
- Removed ALL debug config options and disabled printk
- Wireguard Support
- Magisk Stub integrated

Seems to be failing safetynet. I should have a solution by next release.

Hi everyone, on my device (XT2131-1, Spectrum Mobile), this kernel causes some stuttering, especially when entering the password to unlock. Is this a known issue?
Thanks in advance.

Next release should fix your issues!

New update released. This brings many changes such as disabling Zram to improve system latency, new cpu scheduler "dragrace" as default (prefers higher clocks while screen is active), and fixes to SD Cards. Also, I improved support for those of you who installed the TWRP ramdisk. Enjoy!

Can confirm the update fixes the stuttering issues, at least for me. Thanks for the work!

Working well and no noticeable stutter now. Also the flag at UI start is resolved. Here is a twrp recovery log.

Works on Android 12 Pixel rom gsi...
only thing is i dont see the new scheduler dragrace you mentioned in the update.
see pic..
thanks again ,,the data speeds are better than the pure stock boot.img.

My only request would be gpu boost from 650mhz to 750mhz would be awesome...

prioritize audio option to reduce audio latency

How are updates looking? @ArtiicPanda
Edit: Also to go with the GPU boost requested above, a slight CPU overclock would be amazing. This phone gets such good battery life I think it would be worth the tradeoff. Maybe make 2 versions of the kernel -- one normal, and one "performance" with gpu/cpu overclocks and let people choose
Edit2: Also noticing that the "tap to wake" feature gets a little wonky once the device hits (what I assume) is deep sleep. Takes 2 sets of taps to get the screen to come on. Somewhere around 45 seconds to a minute after turning the screen off and leaving the device alone. Any time before that, works exactly as intended. Definitely kernel related as it's the only difference between my unlocked model and the Cricket next to it.
Edit3: Also perhaps enabling the "notification led" on the front?

YAAP is a project founded by Adhitya Mohan (@poad42) and Ido Ben-Hur (@idoybh) with the goal of staying close to AOSP in design goals, offer a clean interface, do as much as original development as possible and avoid becoming a kitchen sink and cherry picked mess.
Bug reporting:
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

good job
A couple of things. ROM won't boot unless you wipe data. The clock isn't centered when center is chosen. Choosing "Advanced Restart" changes nothing on my phone.
Have it up and running and rooted. So far no problems whatsoever. Great job.
Edit: after rooting advanced start is working. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but before that I had to use volume keys to get into bootloader.
Eagerly excited to give this a shot. Been wanting a reason to switch things up on my phone, and this sure is one. Will report back once I flash.
EDIT: Flashed on T-Mobile OP8 once converted to global. I attempted to flash from T-Mobile official, but this bombed out and caused it to boot into crashdump. So far, everything is nearly flawless. I will say that display calibration profiles isn't working, but that is pretty minor. Using the standard color correction works fine. I am going to run it through its paces for the rest of the night and tomorrow. If things go well, looks like this will be daily driver material.
Verizon Op8 unlocked. On A10 as I'm waiting to get updated modem from Verizon. I only have build on one slot _a, not both as msm tool has latest ota from Verizon loaded. Is being on A11 base or having oos on both slots a pre-requisite? Please and thank you beforehand.

I flashed and it seems pretty good. Some issues to note are, when connected, there's no sound with bluetooth devices, sometimes during heavy use the screen will become unresponsive, and when the pop up comes in apps to use the fingerprint scanner, it shows 2 different overlays. I was unable to get logs and I flashed back to stock, but hopefully this helps

I also came back to post the bluetooth audio bug. Can also confirm that it happens with wired headsets as well, either using the adapter or using USB-C headphones.
I also have no bluetooth audio and display calibration profiles not working.

Just curious if any headway was made on the Bluetooth audio bug. If logs are needed, let me know and I can capture them.

Yeah, that's pretty much a deal-breaker. Looking at this guy's account it seems he's got a few irons in the fire when it comes to crDroid. Given this thread has like five posters seems not much interest from OP8 users. I'd guess that would leave us sucking hind tit. And it's hard to find fault. I'm sure this is really time consuming work and people have lives.
a new build is up, please don't use the internal installer but download it from our website and follow the install script
thanks everyone for the feedback, it's appreciated
Updated. Fixed the bluethooth issue. Haven't checked the other stuff yet.
A question. Updating as you do breaks root. Could a person extract the boot.img from your package, patch it with magisk, rename it boot.img, put it into the installer package, then update and retain root? Or would this cause the update process to fail?

This kernel is (just barely a little) experimental. Use at your own risk.
Feel free to skip past the first 5 pages when reading over this thread.
This kernel assumes a few things about you, the user:
1. You have a ROG Phone 5
2. You have read all warnings and instructions
3. You are rooted (implying an unlocked bootloader)
4. You have an installation method
5. You have a backup boot image
6. You have disabled Always-on Panel
Releases will be labeled with the commit hash of their source. The newest firmware is recommended for this kernel, but not necessarily required. I am not responsible for any issues or damage caused by installing this kernel, so have a backup ready before proceeding.

Umbrella Core [WIP] / Raccoon City
Optimization from Kirisakura / StarKissed
raccoon_city (originally written for the Shield Tablet) is a new take on "interactive" by using a combination of low latency timers and the kernel scheduler to scale more aggressively (or less, if configured that way) based on workload, in addition to capping the max inactive frequency. The purpose is to provide a balance between good battery life and performance without handicapping the device.
umbrella_core (originally written for the Note 4 and ported to hundreds of other devices) takes raccoon_city a step further with automation. In addition to the full array of user settings, this governor features a smart mode that will adjust the base values within a set range to further optimize battery and performance.
The difference between these governors and the batterysaver implementation (also available) is the lack of arbitrary caps on max values during normal use. By controlling the workload, this allows better control over when the next frequency is reached, instead of whether it is available at all.
The default configuration idles at a max of about 800 mHz, but can be configured for each cluster, much like most settings.

As it stands, the V18.0830.2101.86 kernel will cause a bootloop on the newest firmware, bot older firmware is untested. This is not to say the kernel will not function on the corresponding firmware, which is why it is being released.
This kernel assumes a few things about you, the user:
1. You have a ROG Phone 5
2. You are capable of reading
3. You are rooted (implying an unlocked bootloader)
4. You have an installation method
5. You have a backup boot image
If anyone is still on V18.0830.2101.86 and knows what they are doing, the package is attached to test out. Again, you should have a backup boot image handy.
Note: A patched WW-18.0840.2103.26 boot image has been attached in case of emergency. It was made with a Tencent device, so results may vary.
Should it be determined that the build works on older firmware, we know we are waiting on source updates from Asus and I can start pressuring them to publish it.
Should the kernel also fail on older builds, then I will know I need to take another look at the build process and see where it went wrong.

Hallo
Flashed your kernel and after restart my devices get into reboot wich I could not come out of. When I try flash my saved boot.img my device not connect to adb command like before (sound from pc confirm connection).
Checked and found a dive is missing but QUALcom USB 1.1 is drives installed. Any advice?
Thanks for kernel, but after installed the kernel I come into a boot loop. So I went into fastboot mode for flashing my saved patched boot.img.
But my Rog did not connect to my PC in fastboot mode. I can see that an Android drive missing (attached file) and installed QC drives but still no connection. Solution?
Before I installed kernel there was no problem with ADB/USB connection my Rog.

I better checked my system version and it`s V18.0840.2103.26 and tried to install the kernel via EX-kernelmanager with no success. BootLoop.
Sent in a support ticket casually reminding Asus of the GPL for the kernel. Hopefully it doesn't take too much longer to publish updated source.

Check in the “fastbootimages” folder, an OTA package should be up soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Tried via fastboot, with fastboot erase user data and without...failure of not enough space. Tried via recovery with and without erase data....same results. After every fail redid flash of factory image first too.
Appreciate your work, appears a partition space issue? Here's the screenshots of either approach, same fail.

Interesting, I flashed the fastboot update package here and it seems to be fine here. Also for erasing userdata, I'd recommend you use "fastboot -w". I am assuming you are flashing the package from the actual fastboot mode and then it should reboot to fastbootd and do it's thing.
Just tried... Used fastboot -w (old memory of old syntax) sorry.
And yep goes into fastbootd and flash via recovery automatically. Still same results. I had tried the flash boot, reboot fastboot, fastbootd then to lineage recovery and both erase or not ...same results (that was my first methods)
Wow thank you for the fast help!!.
Edit1... Thought maybe my adb tools was old. Was prev one so updated to current. Still same results. Darn

YAY! Good to know
Use the fastboot method installation, not recovery method, rom zip or recovery img on how partitions are incorrect, works but not many customizations also rom has some buggy issues, can you please also share on how you built the rom, made a thread in pixel 4a guides section

No, flash from fastboot with the fastboot update command. Similar to flashing a factory image
July update is here!
Download: https://downloads.statixos.com/11-OFFICIAL/sunfish/fastbootimages/
General changelog: https://downloads.statixos.com/changelog/11/
Device-specific changelog:
• Massive updates to the kernel; it's much more power efficient now as we use optimized frequencies and EAS costs obtained from Freqbench: a benchmark script made by Danny Lin. This improves jitter, overall system smoothness all while actually saving power when your device is not in use (or is being used lightly).
• Debloat qcacld-3.0 config and kill IPAv3 wake lock thus, significantly improving idle drain when connected Wi-Fi (especially 5GHz)
• Suppress various drivers from spamming the logcat and dmesg. Less lines printed per second by the logging services help conserve energy.
• Enable a tick haptic effect as present in stock when revealing the non-expanded QS.
• Boost the GPU when EXPENSIVE_RENDERING (Blur in this case) hints are parsed by the surfaceflinger
Please use the fastboot package and not the OTA package. Thanks for using StatiXOS!

PixelOS is an AOSP based ROM, with Google apps included and all Pixel goodies (launcher, wallpapers, themed icons, google sans fonts, Monet color based system wide theming, boot animation), a fork of OG Pixel Experience with improvements on the top of it. Huge respect to Pixel Experience team for their work, thanks to them for making this ROM possible.
In short a fully functional Pixel Experience with just the right amount of essentials.
Code:
/* Your warranty is now void.

* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

I have a custom rom installed on my realme C3 device, Can I directly install pixelos on it ,or should i revert back to rmui ?
Everything fine..
How much storage will the system memory take?
How's the battery life in comparison to stock? I keep going back from cfw to stock since the battery life is so much better. Thanks
I actually installed this, and my phone does not reboot after I set it up after first boot, so I messed up for my first custom ROM on my phone. Used another android 12 custom rom (arrow OS) just to boot up my phone. So for me to got back into pixel os without any error in reflashing it, by flashing arrow OS first, clear caches, and then flash pixel os. And the error doesn't appear as the flashing goes on. And so far, no issues whatsoever. The rom itself is optimized, even when I force adopt my sd card, it goes so well. Big thank you for this.
Ps. I rooted pixel os just by installing the apk, patching the boot.img of pixel os, flash it to recovery, reboot and direct install of magisk

You need to revert back to rmui1.0 first before you proceed flashing pixel os
Hi, I have an AU prepaid ( optus ) c3 OV, can I install this on the phone?
For those who have a problems in excessive heating during charging after using otg, disable the otg at realme settings of this rom. This should fix the overheating of the phone. Since the otg in pixel os doesn't have a mechanism to turn off itself, you should manually disable it once you used this feature
This ROM is simply awesome. Thanks @sarthakroy2002 for this, this has literally transformed this phone into something actually useful. Question: what's the cabc display option about?

CABC is a stock realme feature... It means Content based battery consumption... It is very useful.

Thanks for the explanation, I'm assuming leaving it enabled is for the best, then. Any plans on building Lineage 19.1 with your trees? Thanks again for the awesome work, rom working perfectly so far.
How can i turn off the phone by double tapping home screen? btw nice rom this is good i can use this as daily driver but sometimes when i use the switch button (3 navigation) its automatically switching app, it's also stuttering when scrolling in some apps but thats ok because i only have 3gb ram. Performance issues in youtube and is some cases.
@sarthakroy2002, There seems to be some inconsistency between this little script that comes in the packages called dynamic_partition_op_list. The system_ext in the ArrowOS 12.1 package is resized to a much larger size, actually almost double what the PixelOS system_ext is resized to, even though the compressed package is much smaller than PixelOS'.
The other thing is that apparently the wakelocks in the roms seem to stem from this stp_dump process, apparently mediatek related (logger ?) getting a permission denied that keeps going forever. Seems to be at a system level? Is that something that can be addressed through SEPolicy?
Thanks again for the great work,

Just use my latest TWRP released in TG channel... Also the stp_dump isnt granted permission to work.... I will look into the logspams soon
Sorry for my ignorance, man, what telegram channel are we talking about? Pixeloschat? Cause I couldn't find anything there. Ok, just found your sourceforge repo, I'm assuming it's that twrp you meant before. Yeah, it sure about the permissions themselves but the binary is running, killing it simply restarts the process so I couldn't test if that's the real root of the wakelock, but everything points to it. Thanks again,
will banking apps and Netflix work?
@Radheykalra As long as you don't root it, yes. Some apps don't work even with magiskhide. Netflix always works rooted or not, you just need to sideload it. Obviously no Widevine L1 so no FHD.
@sarthakroy2002, some interesting findings: the wakelock ratio which during normal idle times is 55/45 (deep sleep / awake with the screen off)goes down to 95/5 when the battery is below 15%. No battery saver turned on at all, no change on the system itself, exact same usage. Some internal process is triggering that change in behavior with the 15% thresold. Hope that helps fixing it. By the way, I changed to your build of Lineage to double check and the behavior is exactly the same.
