Hello everyone,
Guys, I need help to find out witch 5g bands are supported in my device (OnePlus 8 IN2013) Does anyone know ?
My software version is: 11.0.9.9.IN21AA
If my phone is the NA version, I think that I am in a very bad situation, because my country started the implementation of the EU bands (n1, n3, n5, n7, n28, n40, n77, n78).
If my phone dont have these bands, the 5g will not work. So I really want to know if my version (IN2013) is supported. I really appreciate any help. Thanks

Hello friends,
I have an FDD-LTE MI4 and I live in Brazil.
I realized that the MI4 only works in the bands 1 and 3 of LTE, whereas in Brazil using the band 7, is there any way to unlock the other bands in MI4? I saw that this procedure is possible in other cells, but found nothing about the MI4.
I await response, and now thanks.

Pity no one has idea about this one. More xiaomi are vailable now throw sellers but it seems the LTE bands will not satisfy much countries.
I am in France and as you, if I buy I will not benefit from LTE...
I heard non-mtk models do support other bands but are locked because of licenses, don't know if true
There's a thread going on over in the OP Community where they reckon that O2, even though that has 5G, won't support 5G on the OP8.
This is weird to me because the OP8 is advertised as being '5G ready'. One reason I bought this is that I live in the UK which is rolling out 5G. I have a vodafone contract (SIM only) which includes 5G and I now have a 5G compatible SIM. So, I would expect that, when this lockdown is over, I can go into Manchester (near me and which has 5G) and my phone would start to use it.
But am I wrong in this assumption? If so, what is reality? What do I need to look for and who do I ask? If this is not going to work, I need to send it back before my 30 days are up.
Cheers
Alan
So u buy 5G to go to a 5G area to use 5G?
Vodafone use 5G NR n78 (3500MHz), like o2, EE and Three.
OnePlus 8 Pro (EU version) support only N78 for now and will get N1, N3, N7 and N28 with next updates.
The chinese version of the OnePlus 8 Pro support NR N41, N78 and N79, will also get N1 and N3 with next updates.
The US version (from oneplus dot com) N2, N5, N41, N66 and N71.

Ah, so if I've had the update which supports Three (which I have), then it will also support Vodafone. True?

Hi team,
It seems OnePlus is showing different frequencies on the 5G band for phones sold in China (IN2010) and Europe (IN2013).
IN2010: Bands 41, 78 & 79
IN2013: Bands 1, 3, 7, 28, 78.
Does anyone who if a Chinese phone originally intended for IN2010 bands are flashed the international ROM IN21BA, are the other bands accessible in Europe . Other bands being, 1,3,7,28 ect.
Or is there a hardware lock?
It's technically programmed into NVRAM, but the publicly found version of QPST doesn't support this device, so I don't know of a way to modify the bands.
1,3,7,28 and 20 are 4g LTE bands in France, so Europe. It's not 5g bands
These bands are presents on the IN2010 model too

Shame, when Europe starts using band 28 on 5G, the Chinese imported phone won't support this band then.
Also i recommend compare 4G and 5G Combinations between China and Europe variant:

Europe: https://cacombos.com/device?model=IN2013

In France B28 used for 4G LTE for now but i think they will transfer it to 5G like other countries. That will be low band 5G for many countries to build coverage.
I'm wondering if we can unlock additional LTE bands in k30 Pro chinese variant for people who bought the Zoom version. I read it can be done on old devices and bands are not removed by hardware, only locked. Here you can read some examples:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-note-pro/how-to-unlock-lte-frequency-bands-mi-t3215880
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/guide-how-to-unlock-additional-lte-bands-on-chinese-us-variants-of-oneplus-3.479445/
I hope an expert can throw some light about this and if it can be done on modern devices.
Not having band 20 on vodafone or virgin makes no difference in the U.K. This was an issue years ago as Europe only used band 20, Europe also use band 1,3 and 7 so really isn't a problem anymore. Please search what bands your country uses, it will more than likely use 20 still but the others will also be available. I'm using the zoom model.

Well, if you're living in Germany band 20 is essential. Otherwise you won't have signal on the countryside.
So I'm also quite curious about unlocking different lte bands especially on the k30 pro zoom edition.

Same applies for Netherlands unfortunately. I might just go for the global Poco F2 Pro but I kinda want the Zoom edition lol.
@dhaern
Some info how 5G bands were unlocked on other phones (tools involved QXDM, QPST, com.qtrun.QuickTest)

X55 spec wise should is able to handle two sim 5G
How many times will this come up? Seriously it can't be done.

the above link was posted 5 years ago, I'm not an expert but I tried every means possible on the OnePlus 3t, I was also told by people that knew more about it than me that it couldn't be done.
I tried on my old galaxy S4 never been successful
Looks like it's impossible on our phones - QPST sees the phone, but can't do anything with modem memory. Maybe because it's encrypted.
I don't really need band 20, but LTE-A band 7+7 or 7+3 is very needed. In Chinese 2020 models Xiaomi cuts off CA 7+7 support for some reason. My Redmi K20 holds LTE-A CA 7+7 easily.
Hello,
I am looking to buy an unlocked S21+ from Samsung Canada store (SM-G996W) and I checked here :
S21+ Differences that the following 5G bands: n2, n41, n66, n71 are the ones supported by the Candian model so my question is:
Is it possible to change the supported bands? For example, if I travel to a country where the used 5G band is the n28, will the S21+ support this band. If so, how please?
Btw, I have seen some users changing Network bands on Samsung devices without root so I want to make sure that it works with the 5G bands especially from someone who have a S21+ please?
Here is the link of the short tutorial: Un/Locking LTE Bands on Samsung I am talking about.
Thanks for your help

AFAIK this 5G bands are hardware related, not software related. So no "unlocking" in this case.
