My mom has a Zenfone 6 and the Bluetooth never stays connects anymore, the phone ALWAYS requires a reboot for the Bluetooth to stay connected so she can listen to Spotify. Happens with her JBL speakers as well as wireless earbuds. I think its only been becoming an issue recently. I tried a factory wipe to no avail. The devices work fine on my ASUS ROG 1 and my dad's MOTO G Power.
Wondering if anyone thinks having a different ROM installed would work. I have had good experience with LOS in the past. Kinda sucks there is none for the ROG 1. Just don't want to do it with her phone if people think it will not work.
Almost a year and nobody else has this issue?

i've seen this being discussed a few times but with no resolve.I bought 4 oneplus one phones altogether. The first two were for me and my daughter bought a week apart.
These have worked flawlesly and both have been rooted both connect to the bluetooth in the car with no problems.
I then ordered one for the wife and the brother (family thing going here) they both arrived at the same time and both failed to pick up any signal...
I updated them through wifi then the phone aquired a signal with no problems. But here is the problem, both of that phones will not connect to the cars bluetooth..
everything on all the phones match up from the android version to the baseband so i can't get my head around why there is a problem.?
i hear that its a problem with cm ! but why are some working and others not?
are there any roms that are not cm11 based that i can flash and see if it is the software that's causing the fault or should i wait to see if there are any updates to fix this common problem?
It's the brother's phone thats the problem,he was a long time apple user and i convinced him to change to the opo now thats jumped up and kicked me in the butt...
if this is the wrong place to post this question i do appologise, not used to posting on forums.!
thank you
bluetooth problems
well here is an update if anybody is interested.I installed multirom and mahdi rom, bluetooth connects no problem now
I'm having the exact same issue. I had a Chinese OnePlus that connected easy-breezy to both my BMW and Acura cars. I got a new OnePlus just last week which has not been able to connect/pair at all with either car. The phone can not find any BT devices.
This is back breaking here in the anti-cell phone+driving Northeast.
When they do connect, as mine does, can it send/receive text msg's and emails via the car. Mine works for phone calls and music but no msg's. 2014 Toyota Corolla
same here, just got my OPO not quite a wek ago.
64gig-version, rooted, stock FW, latest OTA.
my BT headset connects just fine, just tried it in the car today, but the phone just does not find the alpine CD-headunit (connected fine with my GNEX or N4 before).
im actually thinking about trying ParanoidAndroid-ROM wich i liked very much on my N4.
any leads?
OK then, I just flashed paranoidAndroid .. Ta-Daa: connects to in-car BT Unit.
ParanoidAndroid by the way doesnt come with the OPO-Lockscreen, but the double-tap to wake up. just enough for me.
cheers!
Has anyone experienced issues with Bluetooth devices? I have 2 devices (that are somewhat obscure) that I'm having problems with. First, what does work:
1) Beats Wireless Headphones
2) Bluetooth in my car
3) Unify Roverbeats (For bluetooth via A/V receiver that doesn't have it built-in.
4) Fitbit Surge (Had a little trouble getting it paired initially, but it's been fine since.)
The two items I'm having the trouble with are:
1) Omron 7 Series Wrist (BP654) Blood pressure cuff.
2) Vicks SmartTemp Bluetooth thermometer.
I have gotten both to pair, though it seems to be hit and miss. Once I need to actually use them, though, I'm having little to no success in getting the phone to see them. Unfortunately, I have to take both my BP and Temp every 3 hours (due to recently diagnosed, extremely rare immune system disorder.) This would be a deal-break for me, with the Blu Pure XL, it I didn't have 2 other android tablets I can use. However, I'd sure like to have these working on the phone! (BTW, they all worked seamlessly on my LG G4.)
Has anyone else experienced bluetooth issues with the Pure XL?
More Bluetooth problems....
The Bluetooth problems I mentioned earlier have only worsened. My car sometimes will, sometimes won't connect. The surge connects 90% of the time. Everything else is touch and go, with my BP Cuff only connecting once (during the pairing sequence.) Also, when selecting "un-pair" on any device already paired almost never un-pairs it. I usually have to reboot, then try again to actually get it to un-pair.
Aside from the Bluetooth issues, I've not really encountered anything else that is a show-stopper. I'd like to have Android pay, but it's not a necessity. I want root more (which disables Android pay anyway.)

I've only paired a Metawatch so far but no issues. I keep forgetting to sync it to my car. I'd say the connection with the XL is better than with my M9, which dropped/reconnected randomly.
So far it seems to work fine with my car but when I use it with moto x sol deck it starts breaking up after 15-20 minutes. The only way to fix it is to turn on and off bluetooth.
Pure XL bluetooth serious problem
I have a Pure XL also, originally i only had problems occasionally with playing media through my LG Tone+ headphones. then i also tried connecting my Fitbit Charge HR it would shut down the bluetooth and lock the bluetooth off. i tried uninstalling the fitbit app and only running the headphones and the bluetooth ended up locking up. when i go to the bluetooth settings it shows it as constantly turning off and turning on. i cant stop it. tried rebooting. and also tried turning off and leaving off for awhile and still when i turn it back on it is still locked up.
Issues with jawbone up3, screwed up bad
Also having issues maintaining a sync without a reboot. In my wild attempts to fix this issue I ended up uninstalling Bluetooth Share.... Would any of you fine gentlemen be kind enough to post a copy of the apk from /system/bluetooth for me?
edit: found it github*com/acheron1502/android_vendor_BLU_BLU_PURE_XL/tree/master/proprietary/system/app/Bluetooth
thanks to acheron1502!
I only use Bluetooth for me FM transmitter in my car.... I never seem to have any problems at all as far as connection and playing music/sounds.... But the hands-free doesn't seem to work.... I can hear them but they can't really hear me very well.... I just put it off to the mic on the FM transmitter....
Just got my blu pure xl today and Bluetooth sucks, its not much better than my blu vivo air. Signal cuts off only being like 5 feet from the phone using my brand new jbl reflect mini Bluetooth earbuds. Hooked to my 4 year old kindle fire hd left on my second floor I was still getting reception in my basement. I'm so pissed I thought that this specked out phone would have good Bluetooth reception but nope ****ty. Blu/gionee needs to start putting way better Bluetooth transmitters in there phones.
I've got to reboot my phone several times a day to keep synced with my runtastic orbit. definitely the phone, had no issues with my LG. Its a nuisance, not a major issue.
Bluetooth woes followed by total meltdown!
After all of my initial issues with Bluetooth on my pure XL, I put a Samsung 200 GB MicroSD card in. It worked for a while, but I think I somehow damaged the card moving it in and out of the phone. Finally, I left the phone charging with card inserted. After an hour or two I came back to get it and it was fire hot...so hot that the plastic back cover had started to melt right below the memory card slot. After it cooled down I removed the SD card. The went on to work half the time, but eventually completely died. I contacted BLU and they sent me an RMA, so I sent the phone to them. I figured they would come back and say the phone was not covered anymore because I had the TWRP recovery and root installed. However, after they received the phone, I got an email with tracking number on the return to me. They ended up sending a completely new phone (off the shelf with all the goodies included.)
Since the new one has been back, and I got the march update, I haven't had any Bluetooth issues save 1: it won't connect to my Denon AVR receiver's Bluetooth mode. Everything else that I listed at the start of the thread is all working correctly now. Every once in a while I have to do a reboot to reset it, but it's way better than it had been!
BLUETOOTH CLICKING NOISE (handsfree)
Is anyone having issues with when using their BLU Pure XL in the car when using handsfree? I have an issue when about 1 minute into the phone call, the person I am talking to hears a loud click every 2 seconds and will not stop until I turn off the bluetooth or put on speaker. If i switch back to bluetooth, same thing happens. The longest I've gone on a call is probably 4 minutes before it started to happen. If i hang up and call the person back on bluetooth, same thing happens.
Anyone has a solution with this as its so bad that I am considering buying a new phone because of this issue!
Thanks
Since android 7.1 I can't use my bluetooth earphones with my Nexus 5X. I'm this close to selling up for a different phone.
I can pair my Nexus 5X to my Anker earbuds, but the sound drops out so much it's unusable, stuttering several times a second.
The weirdest thing though; the problem is worse when my phone is near my earphones, like when I hold my phone up to see the screen. When the phone in my pocket or across the room, it works OK.
The problem is also worse when the screen is on than when it's switched off.
Can anyone help solve this? The fact that distance helps makes me think it's maybe a weird bug related how 7.1 manages bluetooth power and interference? A Bluetooth LE thing?
For reference;
It's a Nexus 5X, currently running stock 7.1.2 beta. This problem began exactly after the 7.1 update.
I'm using Anker Soundbuds Sport earphones. It's not the earphones, I've tried another identical pair. They also work fine with other phones.
Bluetooth works fine with other devices; my soundbar, bluetooth speaker.
I've tried rebooting, full factory image flash, every wipe possible.
I've tried Lineage OS, including flashing that aptX mod.
Let me know if you want any more info.
Ever since Android 10 hit my device using my Galaxy watch and some headphones has been a pain. My watch disconnects constantly and my headphones do too but not as often. Using my watch is also painful, even while connected certain things won't reach it so i end up missing notifications even though the watch never really disconnects.
Is there anything i can do? I don't want to wipe my device to downgrade just so i can use basic functions of what my phone should be able to do. Would rather not settle with Android 9 so that my Bluetooth works.
Bump
No issues with my watch or headphones, both Bluetooth. However I did have issues with audio consistency on my car and found that resetting my head unit mostly fixed my problem. Maybe doing a reset on your watch may help. Headphones I'm not sure.
Switch back to ?

Yeah reset my watch a million times. It's not the watch. I was running other phones off and on and only the 7 pro does this...
bump again still
I, too, face audio connectivity issues on my OP7P after the Android 10 upgrade on OOS. I paired my OnePlus bullets 2 to my Nexus 6 running AICP pie and didn't experience any connectivity issues. I also have it paired with an aftermarket head unit in my car and that doesn't have any connectivity issues. I've cleared the storage data for Bluetooth and reset networks through the system menu. To no avail. I'm highly annoyed with something so trivial that got past OnePlus Android devs. The connectivity issues happen in a cycle. Upon 1st connection, it'll happen within 5-10mins. After that, it happens every 15-20mins. It sounds like interference or the data being sent from the phone to the bullets2 isn't complete/is corrupted. The audio gets chopped up like when you have poor cell signal on a phone call.
ok so i bought another g8 plus, just to see how it was different from mine (that its bricked) and "oh surprise" it doesn't work properly too, the sound doesn't work, neither moto sound app, it doesn't even open, and i cant seem to find why, but i cannot listen anything throughout the speakers nor headphones, nor Bluetooth devices, i think mic does not work too, i talked with the last owner of this device and he told me that this issues has been happening since he updated to android 10, it cant be a hardware problem since if it was a problem with physical speakers i should still be able to plug my headphones and listen, or to play sound with a bluetooth device, i'm more than disappointed with this topic, as i said before i had never bought a motorola, and to be the first time this is really stressful and frustrating, and yeah i've already did a factory reset, i just bought it like 3 hours ago, if somebody could help me i would be more than thankful

I doubt it's a software issue, despite your evidence (which makes sense). I am also using stock A10 on the G8 plus, having used OTA to update from A9; never had any issues of this nature.
