I want to limit Instagram application to use a proxy server on my Android phone. - The server is mine, not some global VPN one.
I know it can be done from the WIFI settings, But I also know that INSTAGRAM CAN CHOOSE NOT TO USE THE PROXY but the WIFI connection directly, more over there is the WEBRTC issues that can leak the IP.
I tried Drony / College Proxy apps, they set a VPN for the connection to the proxy, but I am not sure it is safe enogth.
My Question is: what is the best practice to hide my real IP address and show the proxy?
DNS leak/ Webrtc / proxy avoidance ?

I am using my work wifi and it is peap authenticated and no phase 2 authentication.
All we have to do is use the domain id/password and then we can browse the web but the problem is other than the stock applications and google apps i cannot run any other app using wifi .
I cannot download anything from android market as well.
Kindly help me.
I dont want to waste such a good bandwidth
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I have been using Bubble Server for audio streaming.
My problem is the proxy media foobar server binds to hamachi virtual IP4 network address. I have the notebook at the other side of the tunnnel with standard win7 network services running.
I think it doesn't matter when accessing my server from outside via https but it messes my local network up ( behind NAT ). Sony Bravia is getting confused and I can not play my audio streams anymore on my kitchen TV.
I am sorry, maybe it's very easy but I just can not do it. I didn't find anything in the ini/cfg files and standard www interface doesn't allow to set it either.
If anyone knows the solution please let me know. I can provide more detailed description with logs etc if necessary but I hope it's a simple answer and I am just blind.
Hi,
You can follow this tutorial on the subject,
> General discussion > Networking > [HOWTO] Use VPN with your Android & Home Router
And if that doesn't help, you could ask for help in the thread, or ask here...
> General discussion > Networking
Good luck!

That is something for the beginning.
I should probably start with searching and reading not writing anyway.
I appreciate the quick response time
But your question can go in my second link. That's the appropriate place. ?
Thank you. Thread closed.
Hi Guys,
A issue about proxy in my Company, if we want to connect internet, need to set up credential & proxy in WiFi configuration. And boss feedback when they open the browser (android phone/Lollipop), credential window pop-up to ask enter again! Why?
Some app such as "Google Play" can't pop-up the window so that they can't access and download from the store.
Anyone can give me a hint to resolve the issue?

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist and since you didn't mention which device you use I can't even direct you towards a device-specific area. However, your trouble seems to be related to how your work proxy is configured and not so much about Android issues. You could try asking for other members' opinions in the general discussion forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general but whoever configured your work proxy might be able to best advise you.
Good luck!
Hi, I'm an old Perl guy, who understands scripts and sockets, but I cannot quite understand what is RESTful API. I'm trying to make a whiteboard work, locally connected thru a nearby wifi-router. The app https://f-droid.org/en/packages/pro.oblivioncoding.fluffy_board/ says it can do it, but when I try to change from a Cloud connection to a local wifi network it asks for 2 addresses A Restful api url and websocket url. I guess from basics thyat those urls are one, for writing, the other for receiving? And the protocol is HTTP GET strings?
How do I setup such a thing on Android. I'm using Lineage OS 18.1 on a pair of old reliable Nexus 7's.
My motivation is that something recently caused me to mumble, and talking to friends is impossible. I wanted a realtime whiteboard shared with whomver I'm dealing with. I could just go with an acrylic story board, but I don't like the messy ink.

Why did you mention @Raiz ?
You'll have to be more specific. Are you trying to do this on a phone, PC, or router? What "security control" do you mean?
I'm trying to do that on a phone
