[CLOSED]Fluffy_board newbie needs guidance - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi, I'm an old Perl guy, who understands scripts and sockets, but I cannot quite understand what is RESTful API. I'm trying to make a whiteboard work, locally connected thru a nearby wifi-router. The app https://f-droid.org/en/packages/pro.oblivioncoding.fluffy_board/ says it can do it, but when I try to change from a Cloud connection to a local wifi network it asks for 2 addresses A Restful api url and websocket url. I guess from basics thyat those urls are one, for writing, the other for receiving? And the protocol is HTTP GET strings?
How do I setup such a thing on Android. I'm using Lineage OS 18.1 on a pair of old reliable Nexus 7's.
My motivation is that something recently caused me to mumble, and talking to friends is impossible. I wanted a realtime whiteboard shared with whomver I'm dealing with. I could just go with an acrylic story board, but I don't like the messy ink.

AOSP, Eclipse, Vendor tress, system dumps and me

OK, I hope this isn't breaking any forum rules ;-) System dumps aren't considered warez are they?
I'm just now moving from developing applications on android to working on the system itself, but I need a little bit of help. I've never been much into hacking (well... we could go back to college days but lets not ;-)
I've developed a few android applications for my business; which is very exciting - they should be launching within the next few months, but I want to work on my own Android roms and ports and I have a complete newbie question.
I've got my development environment set up - I've got the AOSP 2.1 (android-2.1_r2 to be specific) source, GIT, REPO and everything I need from HTC's Kernel lists, I know how to sign a package, etc, etc, but I've run into a problem I can't seem to fix with Google search (HONOES!)
What the hell do I do with a system dump from another device? Whats the typical process most developers use to get these dumps up and running? Am I missing something blatantly obvious? (Don't flame me, I've been stuck in javascript, PHP and C# for nearly 4 years, I'm rusty :-( )
You don't have to write me a book, but a link to a guide would be helpful.

App Devs: Mangler Needs help with their Open Source Ventrilo App for Android

Mangler (the ventrilo client for linux) its self is open source, and their work so far on the android version is also open source.
They've gotten their libraries and major dependencies compiled in the NDK, but they don't have any java programmers to write the app. If you or anyone you know could help out please feel free to do so.
I don't know much java myself. However I would love to have Ventrilo on my Android phone.
SVN for android version here: http://svn.mangler.org/mangler/branches/android/
IRC is irc.freenode.net in #mangler you can usually catch the mangler devs there.
Glad to see someone bring this forward to our awesome devs! I was looking all over for a ventrilo client for Android as I play WoW on my laptop and it all chokes when I try to use ventrilo as well.
I volunteer myself for any and all testing purposes as I can't contribute codewise
Will be watching this thread closely...
I'd be interested in this too. It has 'cool factor' written all over it. In a geeky kinda way of course.
Useless post...helps to read everything..sorry
Thread moved to Android General since you are simply requesting something and it isn't something that is device specific.

Ah, I actually posted another thread in that forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679717&highlight=ventrilo
So you might want to remove it
I probably got a little overzealous

Job Posting Share: Android Developer

I found this listing while applying for a position in the consulting and finance industries and it looked like something one of the Devs here might be interested in.
I don't know if I'm allowed to do this, so if a MOD could set me a pm if not, I'll happily remove this posting so you don't have to.
ANDROID DEVELOPER needed for the development of interfaces with Web Services using Android API. The term of the project will be long term if the candidate performs well.
The rest of the posting can be found in the zip file below. There is a pdf of the posting at the University of Rochester Career search site, as well as the posting's original listing at Dice.com, which I find easier to read.

Syncing contacts, calendar without Google's involvement

Hey all. First time posting here. To get the technical data out of the way, I'm currently running an AT&T-flavored Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-i777 (not sky) with the Cyanogenmod root @ ICS ver 4.0.4. The Cy mod is 9.1.0-i777.
Before I dive into the deep-end of developing a solution, I wanted to ensure a project doesn't already exist to address what I (IMHO) consider to be an issue - privacy and general Google distrust. Please don't take offense if you're a Google fanboy and please don't tell me Google is my only option.
While I realize I can choose to merge [or not] contacts and other data with Google, has someone GA'ed an open source (or otherwise) method to use one's own server or personally-controlled cloud-based option for synchronizing personal information? Perhaps somehow tying in an existing IMAP account (like a Horde API for lack of a better similarity explanation) with an rsync engine at the server for push/pull abilities?
I researched SyncML, but it seems that I would only be able to incorporate its code into a more top-level coded solution for alternative syncing methods.
Thanks for any/all feedback.
Regards.
No one?
So I'm guessing either no one else has thought about a third-party handling your information and doing something about it or just plain apathy?

Citaq H10-2

A while ago I reset a H10-2 that had a RK3386 Rockchip. I did this by means of the restore button on the motherboard. In doing so I'm having trouble finding a working print driver for the Seiko serial printer that is imbedded in the unit.
After some research I found a print proxy driver but it no longer works. After installing the app, it requests registration in order to use the print proxy. Now that's fine, but it does look like it has been abandoned and I can't register the app.
I have found an app on the stock image called POSFactory. This is basically a test software to run for engineers. Things like audio test, display test and so on. However, it also has print test and does some comprehensive print tests to the thermal printer, including a self test print.
I'm looking to get this printer working for the android system and wondered if anyone could advise me how to do this please.
Platform RK3368 (Octa-core 8)
Ram 2gb
Android 5.1.1
