The phone is AT&T asurion replacement and as far as I know it hasn't been rooted or anything. I figured maybe it was an Asurion proprietary thing...but I'd love to know for certain.
Thanks

Are you asking if the update toggle is normal? All of my At&t devices have the update toggle that is how you get ota. You can disable it with Titanium backup if rooted or with ADB commands. I know JRkruse AIO firmware has it removed..but you can only use AIO if you're rooted.

The icon is noticeably different than other samsung phones
That is the way my update toggle looks on all my At&t phones. I had unlocked device it looked different. If you have At&t sim the firmware provisions to the sim you have in your device and will reflect that.

My baseband version doesn't match what the number is supposed to be though. The phone is just off. The whole reason I went with this model was because it offered a mid range price without galaxy s21 prices
Its nothing to worry about, its normal
You can go to Samfw and download the firmware for your device and flash with Odin. Looks like you on bootloader 5..so download firmware with bit 5 bootloader and flash BL..CP..AP..CSC. just heads up CSC will wipe device..HOME_CSC will not wipe

Now i know that my phone started out as a G920v and was rooted and modified to make it look like the international G920F

I think it's G920V. Download Phone INFO Samsung, and look for the model in it.
yes it is the g920v i've been scammed im so angry right now! any solutions guys?
I am on the same boat. ..I bought this phone in Australia from eBay and they gave me 920v instead of 920f. I did bit Google and read somewhere that you need to use custom ROM for your model only. Though you can use ROM of different baseband.
My baseband ends in BOK7 and it seems they don't have updates available. I m stuck on 5.1.1 I just don't know if I flash ROM would it relock to Verizon?
Hi,
I have a Sprint HTC U11 WHL Device With UHL Japan ROM installed on it. Bought it on eBay for a great price and thought it might work for me. But I'm running into an issue:
1. Official HTC WHL Sprint RUU executables always fail with ID mismatch error (as the installed ROM is 2PZC2000 (wrong ROM) and I'm attempting to flash 2PZC5000 ROM (to set it straight)). All versions checked via MD5 hash.
2. .ZIP RUUs always fail using htc_fastboot, with a "data size too large" error.
My questions are:
1. How can I get the .exe to disregard the Model ID?
2. Why are the .zip RUUs failing with such a ridiculous error?
3. Is this a situation that "S-OFF" can remedy?
Thanks!

I have a Sprint HTC U11 WHL Device (manufactured specifically for Sprint, for sale in the US) which has a UHL Japan firmware installed on it. I am trying to flash the US Sprint device with the original firmware that was installed on it at the factory, or any later update to that firmware.
I have an unlocked Note 20 Ultra 5G from Verizon that I am attempting to use on Tmobile and GoogleFi. Verizon has confirmed the device has been unlocked in their systems multiple times.
On boot with the Tmobile or GoogleFi sim, the phone works just fine: calls, texts and 5G data are all fine for a few minutes. After about 5 minutes from boot, the following is displayed and the cell capabilities are locked out until I reboot and the process starts again:

I used Frija + Odin patched to load on the TMB firmware but it appears Frija downloads the same package for VZW and TMB since the diff is the same.
I tried to use Frija to get the SM-N986U TMB firmware but it seems to be older and the phone is fuse locked
If I boot in Airplane mode the prompt is never displayed until I disable airplane mode.
Any thoughts on what to try next?

Change carrier
Sorry, your device can't be activated on another carrier's network right now. For help, contact Verizon at (800) 922-0204 or (888) 294-6804 (prepaid plans)
I believe the solution to this is to go back to the Verizon / Carrier specific firmware with Odin, factory reset it, and, without a SIM installed, go through the initial setup on WIFI only. Once the initial setup is done and has been on WIFI for 30+ minutes, power down the unit, install the SIM and start it back up. It appears there is something in the carrier specific firmware that needs to present for the carrier unlock to work. I'll update if this is incorrect. Here is an exhaustive list of firmware, I used the latest VZW carrier variant:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/ota-and-non-ota-firmware-for-n986u-and-n986u1.4143833/
I recently posted about getting duped into buying a Verizon locked phone. I found this page outlining how to use Odin to flash a new modem file to carrier unlock it. None of the links on his/her site work properly though. And that particular page is not the same version as mine.
Any ideas where to find the modem file for A536V? Or maybe the "V" is for Verizon and I need a different, but compatible version?
Looks like the modem is Shannon 5308?
Any ideas where to find a file for this?

They don't have A536V, they have all the others. Can I get the modem from a one of the other variants? (I would think that since they all have the same modem and it should work)
Also, not sure which one of these to use

Have you tried following the guides?
Safely convert regions (includes T-Mobile) as well as restore the ability to use OOS12 after using Indian MSM to recover from a brick (Windows only)
It seems lots of us have had to use the India 9 Pro MSM to recover our devices and in the process, we lose the ability to go back to OOS12 or ROMs based on that firmware because the touchscreen stops working and also trying to convert T-Mobile...

Oh my God. This got interesting.
What the hell is going on here?!!!
Its clearly a stolen phone.
I wonder how though. Why did the OP use the 2nd guy's photo from Facebook, and how did the 2nd guy come to know about it? Looks to me they were both looking for the same solution for the same phone.
Its probably the same person. Zgenumem is also a brand new member.
Hey OP you cant unlock it without running out your tmobile contract, but since you dont have tmobile that doesnt matter.
You can convert it to global A11, but there is zero way you can get it sim unlocked without tmo.
