Unlocked Verizon on Tmobile/GoogleFi works for a few minutes... - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

I have an unlocked Note 20 Ultra 5G from Verizon that I am attempting to use on Tmobile and GoogleFi. Verizon has confirmed the device has been unlocked in their systems multiple times.
On boot with the Tmobile or GoogleFi sim, the phone works just fine: calls, texts and 5G data are all fine for a few minutes. After about 5 minutes from boot, the following is displayed and the cell capabilities are locked out until I reboot and the process starts again:

I used Frija + Odin patched to load on the TMB firmware but it appears Frija downloads the same package for VZW and TMB since the diff is the same.
I tried to use Frija to get the SM-N986U TMB firmware but it seems to be older and the phone is fuse locked
If I boot in Airplane mode the prompt is never displayed until I disable airplane mode.
Any thoughts on what to try next?

Change carrier
Sorry, your device can't be activated on another carrier's network right now. For help, contact Verizon at (800) 922-0204 or (888) 294-6804 (prepaid plans)

I believe the solution to this is to go back to the Verizon / Carrier specific firmware with Odin, factory reset it, and, without a SIM installed, go through the initial setup on WIFI only. Once the initial setup is done and has been on WIFI for 30+ minutes, power down the unit, install the SIM and start it back up. It appears there is something in the carrier specific firmware that needs to present for the carrier unlock to work. I'll update if this is incorrect. Here is an exhaustive list of firmware, I used the latest VZW carrier variant:

LG V50 Verizon Model - Unable to Make Calls

Hello all,
I seem to have an issue with the phone whereas phone calls are not working on the phone (call \receive). I thought it was an issue with the phone not unlocked but it is. I confirmed by looking at the following:
- Phone says Tmobile at the bottom of the screen
- when searching for networks, mentions all - Tmobile, ATT, Verizon, MetroPCS
- manually selected Tmobile as well as Auto Select Network
- texts work on the Tmobile Sim
- Chrome browser loads pages (data not set to roaming)
- factory reset phone and the issue persists
- inserted known working Verizon Sim to test phone ability to make calls \ receive and works ( able to dial out and ring)
- browsed around the Phone app => turned off Assisted Dialing, Video calling
At the moment, I am trying to get the KDZ to possibly flash the firmware to see if the Radios flashover.
Any thoughts?
Nevermind.
I was able to confirm that it is unlocked and able to work with TMobile....sorta. Calls come in when the phone in certain areas where it can switch to a 2G network and switch back to LTE once done.
I also noticed that the 5G UWS icon appeared in some areas. Speed test doesn't show anything 5G like (20mb down, 17 up).
I would hope that cross flash comes out soon. Lol

Hey hi how you unlock your v50 from Verizon

Samsung Galaxy S10e SM-G970N LTE Lock

Hi, i 'm pretty new to android (just made the jump from an iphone)
I got a Samsung Galaxy S10e (korean KTC version), and i noticed that the signal is always on 3G even though my phone supports both lte bands that are used by my carrier (B3 1800 and B20 800)
Digging into setting there is no way to chose preferred network mode but i notice there is a setting called service provider that has an giga lte option but when go to enable it it just says that "giga lte cannot be used while a non-kt USIM is inserted, insert a kt USIM and try again"
So i though is it possible to unlock the lte functionnality by flashing a rom through odin for the korean vertion of the phone but with no carrier lock?
I found this stock korean S10e rom with no carrier lock (screenshot bellow)
Did anyone do it before ?
Does it work?
They have the same model number but not the same CSC file, would it be possible that this works ?

If the phone carrier locked then flashing a rom will not unlock it. You would need a Sim unlock code from the carrier to use a different Sim card. You may me able to carrier unlock it from various websites that an unlock code for purchase. Try a Google search for Sim unlock code. Good luck.

8T with ROMS & Verizon

I'm looking at getting an 8T but my interest in flashing roms is too great. I've read through a few threads about roms not working on Verizon.
Is this still an issue? I need to have phone service (obviously). Would I be happy in being able to use various ROMS while maintaining Verizon service? 5g even?
Anyone could give insight?
5G doesn't work on any ROM with VZW even though the phone supports the 5G nsa Low bands. I've even tried forcing the phone into 5G via the programming menu. Verizon simply won't allow it for non certified phones. The phone tries over and over and eventually loses all service until you reset the radios.

Verizon 5G does work on this device, following this guide here. Source: My carrier is Verizon. But I as well have tried ROMs, and Verizon does not work on any I have tested. Quite disappointing.
EDIT: Verizon does work on the latest LineageOS and HavocOS versions.

Is this normal?

The phone is AT&T asurion replacement and as far as I know it hasn't been rooted or anything. I figured maybe it was an Asurion proprietary thing...but I'd love to know for certain.
Thanks

Are you asking if the update toggle is normal? All of my At&t devices have the update toggle that is how you get ota. You can disable it with Titanium backup if rooted or with ADB commands. I know JRkruse AIO firmware has it removed..but you can only use AIO if you're rooted.

The icon is noticeably different than other samsung phones
That is the way my update toggle looks on all my At&t phones. I had unlocked device it looked different. If you have At&t sim the firmware provisions to the sim you have in your device and will reflect that.

My baseband version doesn't match what the number is supposed to be though. The phone is just off. The whole reason I went with this model was because it offered a mid range price without galaxy s21 prices
Its nothing to worry about, its normal
You can go to Samfw and download the firmware for your device and flash with Odin. Looks like you on bootloader 5..so download firmware with bit 5 bootloader and flash BL..CP..AP..CSC. just heads up CSC will wipe device..HOME_CSC will not wipe

Hello!
First of all i would check that you have VoLTE enabled both in settings and in EngineerMode menu.
Also check that network type set to smth like NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA and reboot phone.
If after reboot volte and 5G still don't work for you, you'll have to use QPST and PDC, to check what carrier profile is active in your phone now. It happens sometimes, that after firmware update, it resets to default or that, which not fully supported in your country.
As of your screenshot, it clearly says you have Telefonica_UK_Commercial profile active on both slots (sims).
If it is not the right profile for your current country/carrier, you'll need to deactivate it by choosing deactivate on sub0/sub1
and then choose the right profile for your carrier from the list, choose activate it on sub0/sub1, press activate button at the bottom of screenshot, swith off and switch on your phone (not reboot, because sometimes settings and not applied on reboots).
P.S: If you don't happen to find your carrier on the list, it's not a big issue. You can choose and enable the one that is available in your country with VoLTE (and 5G services), in many cases it will work too.
Where do I learn how to use this PDC tool. Does it require root? I have rooted and can do ADB.
