I am using Poco X3 Pro. Global version. I think I flashed the ROM incorrectly. Resulted in my phone forever in fastboot. Can be detected by PC in the platform-tools CMD, by typing fastboot devices.
However I cannot get into recovery mode by pressing vol up and power buttons. I tried ”fastboot reboot recovery”, my phone reboot into fastboot again.
What should I do now?
Is there a proper guide step by step?
I unlock bootloader and want to install magisk to root my phone as I require root access. However it seemed difficult to me to root the phone.

Yesterday i also stuck on fastboot it also not rebooting in recovery.
So i did this i downloaded a stock fastboot rom from xiaomifirmware updater.com after that i use Mi flash tool and tried to install the fastboot rom but after 5-10 min it automatically failed but i came out of the fastboot mode after this i just do the same thing which we do when we flash recovery in command prompt and after this i am able to reboot into recovery and then i flashed other rom and now i use that rom.

SUMMARY OF PROBLEM WHAT HAPPENED:
1.Flashed an miui 8 stable rom from xiaomi.eu not official rom so it shouldn't lock bootloader.
2.Cant boot into any recovery i just get miui boot up logo then then it turns off.
3.Cant root via kingroot and other root apps ect to flash twrp via flashify.
4. Cant manually enter fastboot due to damaged volume down button not working *(The plastic film. On the button ripped off)*
5.Don't know other way to enter fast boot please help!
:crying:
Fix your volume button first
By flashing MIUI you most likely updated your bootloader to nougat, which removed TWRP. You need to apply for xiaomi permission to unlock bootloader and then reflash TWRP in fastboot. If you can't go into fastboot you should be able to use ADB commands or a terminal app.
Edit: Terminal app requires root to reboot so that's not an option. I can't try adb because I don't have access to PC right now.
hi, im new in this android arena and this is my first time using smartphone so please forgive my noobness.
i want to root my phone Xiaomi Redmi 5A and i follow some tutorial on youtube where he told to use Minimal ADB & fastboot, TWRP, lazyflasher noverity and lastly Magisk.
im flashing my phone using this command on ADB:
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
i guess this is it so im rebooting my phone to get into twrp recovery mode by pressing volume up+power but it showed xiaomi stock recovery instead not twrp recovery.
so what i do wrong that i cannot get into twrp recovery menu?
please help me

Is the TWRP flash successful?
Ensure that your mobile drivers are installed properly on your pc and that you've enabled USB debugging.
Now after connecting your device to the computer :
1)open adb
2)type adb devices, if it shows a serial number then proceed
3)adb reboot bootloader
4)fastboot flash recovery xxxx.img
After this, remove the USB and reboot to recovery by Holding the appropriate combination of keys.
If you reboot your device first, and then power off and reboot to recovery, you will still get stock recovery.

Hi guys, I need some help. I flashed 1.6 in edl EU firmware with MiFlash. Now when I load the phone it comes up saying that the bootloader is unlocked and press power to continue. This stops me from holding down power and volume to get into fastboot. I have also tried going into recovery and reboot into bootloader but still no fastboot. Just bootloader is unlocked and press power to continue as I have mentioned before.
Please help! ? As need fast boot to install recovery!

Plug in your phone to your cable to your PC. Reboot the phone and soon as it turns off, hit the sound up & sound down button along with the power button. Hold these down until your PC sounds and verifies you are in EDL mode. Once in EDL, start the app on PC using admin privileges. Once the program has started, run unlock bootloader (option 4) again. Once it's complete, reboot the phone to the OS. Reboot holding power & volume up. This will take you to recovery. Now go to reboot to bootloader. When in fastboot follow the directions to install TWRP. Do not skip any steps! Apparently, steps are being skipped.

I said you need to follow directions. In the directions to run <fastboot boot TWRP.img>, not flash. Then flash the installer if you wish to make it permanent, but I wouldn't recommend making it permanent to allow OTAs to work properly.
Sorry I'm not sure where I've gone wrong here I followed your instructions but when I run the axon edl tool it managed to unlock the bootloader and give me back fast boot with out any stop's on boot up but when I run the axon edl tool I got the error at the end which I posted in the picture so then after that didn't work I put it into fastboot and tried to flash the recovery myself and That didn't work either that's why I posted a photo of that as well

Go into fastboot, connect to your PC and run <fastboot boot TWRP.img> then flash Magisk. Do not flash the recovery. Boot TWRP using the above command. Flashing the recovery will not work. If you read the directions, it tells you that. I have told you everything step by step. If you can access fastboot, you are done with the EDL tool, just go into fastboot and boot TWRP using the ADB command <fastboot boot TWRP. img>

If you read the directions, it tells you that. BTW, I don't think you read the directions. Go back and look at my previous post. You only use the EDL tool to unlock the bootloader. After you have unlocked reboot to the stock recovery and select reboot to fastboot. Then boot TWRP.

This part of the guide is part of the tutorial made by @Arin59 at https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-3/how-to/method-to-unlock-bootloader-nokia-3-pie-t4012285
First of all convert your serial number (should look like NE1*************) to MD5 Hash and enable OEM Unlock in developer options.
Then reboot to fastboot and type
Code:
fastboot oem key {HASH}
then type
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
.
To reboot to Android, run fastboot reboot.
Installing TWRP
Code:
This will delete your user data, but it should be already deleted.
You can use any TWRP image made for this device but I had the most success with https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-3/development/twrp-teamwin-recovery-nokia-3-t3762512 .
Flash your TWRP Image chosen with
Code:
fastboot flash recovery your-recovery-image.img
and then reboot to recovery.
In TWRP go to Wipe and then Format Data and type yes.
Install Magisk
Install Magisk normally.
< waiting for device >
I put the phone in fastboot mode and ran fastboot with the oem key md5 hash command but it just said "< waiting for device >". I think it might be because I forgot to install the Nokia 3 USB drivers. I'm using a linux computer, do I need to find OS specific drivers?
edit: And now my phone is stuck in fastboot mode and for some reason will not shutdown no matter how long I hold down the power button for.

If you're using a linux computer, you should try running the command with sudo.
If it doesn't work, try with another cable (or computer if it doesn't work) and try again.

Thanks. I've since got it working. For some reason I had to use the -i argument (the interface argument) along with the code for the device (0x2e04) "fastboot -i 0x2e04 <command>".
However, I've recently bypassed the "NO COMMAND" screen and gained access to TWRP custom recovery but in trying to shut down the phone, it shuts down fine but only boots up in fastboot mode. Even using the fastboot reboot command from adb tools boots it up in fastboot mode. This is a problem as I need to boot it in its normal mode so I can download the magisk.zip file required for installing magisk but I seem to be unable to do so.

Thanks, it worked.
Though I tried wiping, but it didn't solve the booting issue. Unsure how to proceed at this point. I feel like I've tried everything. Actually, I just checked my /boot folder and it's empty...is that why it's always booting into fastboot?
I tried using adb to sideload the magisk.zip file but then the phone rebooted into stock recovery??
Any and all guides on this say to download the magisk.apk either into the SD card or internal storage, but I don't have a micro SD card and I can't access the normal mode of the phone to download anything.
What can I do?
I've flashed TWRP successfully but forgot to download the magisk.apk. Now whenever I boot up my phone, it boots into stock recovery mode automatically, even if I tell TWRP to reboot into system it reboots into Stock Android recovery. I can still access TWRP by holding down the up + power buttons on boot though, but I can't access the normal mode of the phone anymore.
I tried using TWRP's sideload feature with ADB tools to sideload Magisk.zip and it said it succeeded but in using TWRP's install feature to find the zip file, it wasn't in /sideload/ or /storage/ as both were empty.
How can I temporarily restore normal functionality so I can simply download the Magisk manager.apk?

I did the adb and fastboot steps in flashing twrp.img (twrp is correct for my phone)
Adb devices
Adb reboot bootloader
Fastboot devices
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot boot twrp.img
Here are the images (attached in post)
First, twrp logo screen appears
Then, it asks for password
Then, touchscreen doesn't work (3rd image is locked twrp)
I turned phone off.
Then power + volume up button goes to Mi-Recovery 3.0 (not twrp screen) which only shows 3 options
Reboot
Wipe Data
Connect with MIAssistant
Touch works when I boot phone normally (no touch working in only twrp)
How do I fix this?

Flashing TWRP requires phone's bootloader is unlocked, whereas booting into TWRP doesn't require phone's bootloader is unlocked.
Wondering why you flashed TWRP and booted into it at the same time?

Oh? I tried flashing again
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot reboot
It rebooted into normal android
I turned phone off then holdpressed power and volume up buttons. It went to Mi-Recovery 3.0 not twrp. The cmd said twrp was flashed successfully.
Why is it like this?
I have 3 issues:
1. Twrp asks for decryption password
2. Touchscreen not working
3. Can't go to twrp using power and volume up button
edit: bootloader already unlocked before I'm doing all these twrp steps

Thanks. But it wasn't dm-verity. It says it's not enabled.
It was a kernel issue.
Good thing I have a usb hub and otg cable so I used mouse and flash drive to work through twrp.
I'm semi-noob at these things because the last and only time I dabbled in flashing was way back (samsung galaxy note 2) so I'm good as complete newbie in a way.
Thanks to everyone who replied here. Appreciated.
edit:
The faulty twrp was the source of the "touchscreen not working" issue
