Too little, too late for me. 7.2 was my first and last Nokia phone.

Agree in 100%. Support and communication is terrible. Software is full of bugs, also lot of problems with hardware. They also promise fast updates (Android One program), but there is too many delays and defective updates.
Update to 11 is tragic, problem with charging and a lot of more. Phone with nice potential but... I have hope that there is some developers who will save this phone and give us cool software versions and finnaly bootloader unlock method which working in 100%. Croosing fingers.
Regards

Is there a way to downgrade Nokia 7.2 back to Android 10?
I was too eager to upgrade, and now the battery is not charging without a reboot...

Nice, thank you, I will try that!!!

It worked! Nokia 7.2 is back to life now

14th of December and still no Android 11 here in Australia, haven't even got the November security update!
What an absolute joke!

Honestly man. You should not be eager for Android 11. We're in the update zone of Android 11 Nokia7.2. Actually, i need to tell you it's disaster. So many error in the Nokia android 11.
Seriuosly, the phone no charge, very fast battery drain, software compatible.
Do you know, everytime i charge, i need to shutdown/restart my Nokia 7.2 phone? i often go to office with a 15% battery, although i spent 1 night charge (no charge error in the anddroid 11 update/upgrade).
Man, just wait, wait and wait. You can check the Nokia support commnunity, users are shouting at nokia for their responsibility. It has been a month after bad update without any patches. Totally disaster/disappointed. This is the honest thing that i can tell all of you, that's a disaster upgrade.

Portugal has not yet received Android Marshmallow, why?

Hey guys, so like many of you ive been waiting for an official release of marshmallow for the galaxy s6, because as anyone who is at least a semi curious photographer knows that the camera api 2 manual controls are completely broken in android lolipop and the stock camera cant do half the setting that camera api 2 offers....
Anyways ive been reading that the camera api 2 in android M has been fixed and even the stock camera ap has got new manual settings which is the main reason i am so interested in android M.
However.... I see that Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and UK which are all around Portugal got the update and yet Portugal (which is 1 of the most advanced countries in the world internet wise speaking) is still waiting for how many more weeks?
What kind of parameters are used to choose the Country update priority?
Best Regards.
Nobody knows priority or parameters that samsung uses ...
For s6 i guess france and vodafone providers have priority...

They cant really be that random because since the days of Galaxy S2, Portugal has got the middle finger in the update priority, i was hoping that would change with Galaxy S6 but apparently it didnt....
It's really bad, the update policy of Samsung. How random can you be? Country for country, why not whole Europe at once
Join the club. I've not seen any MM update here in Norway either.
Because they take isocell on first priority lol

Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is already displayed in Portugal at the typical stores for a few days already, with the price of 999€ (1000€) for the gold galaxy s7 128GB, that proves that Portugal isnt insignificant for Samsung.
Maybe they confused software update with hardware update and instead of releasing us Marshmallow for Galaxy S6 they released Galaxy S7
still waiting on EE UK also

Lol i guess times changed, back in the days having an unlocked phone meant that we were the first to get the updates and carriers would either follow the boat or simply refuse to do so.
Now it semms that there might be some dirty tactics of time exclusivity, as in, Carriers like Vodafone paying up for beying the first to release a new version of the software so everyone who dont want to wait long might consider in the future to choose Vodafone instead of a carrier free phone, i dont find that surprising if true... because it makes 0 sense for a brand to release an update sooner than unbranded, since Samsung provides the software already ready to compile and ready to run and Vodafone has to waste extra time to add their junk in the phones.
Do consumers care that much about updates delayed for a few weeks to sway their buying decision towards buying from a network carrier rather than unlocked? I mean, we in this forum surely care about that kind of thing, but Average Joe out there, I don't know

I think its safe to say that it will have the opposite effect, instead of wanting the newest galaxy model they will simply feel betrayed and move on to another brand alltogether, then give bad reviews to that Corporation for their friends, collegues and possibly even on the internet if some are geek enough.
Look at Rise of Tomb raider, Microsoft paid millions to have that game exclusive to XboxOne and yet everyone boycotted the crap out of that game because of such dirty tactic.
But greedy companies will never get it, they will always try it again and again to boost their sales, even if it actually hurts them instead.

There is no update for unbranded Hungarian firmawares.
Only Vodafone.
Samu is just starting releasing for t-mobile also, BUT WHY NOT for THE UNBRANDED ONES are the first?
that take less work than customize operator releated Firmwares...
I bought an unbranded because of faster updates......
ps: I have got the 6.0.1 upate today ( XEH)
Because most other nations on the planet also haven't received the update.
Seems we can't visit this place without a constant whiney noise emanating from every other thread. Calm the hell down, all of you.

What is actual Security Patch Level 617 and 401?

Hi,
I consider to change my wife's CID from original 111 TMO to at least 401 or may 617 (contains 617 ROM for the A9 German as language? On my old M9 it does not). Reason is that it stucks in 7.0 security patch Level December 2016 -unbelievable!
There are so much Patches missing, Bluetooth, WPA2...
So what are the latest Patchlevel for 401 and 617, please?
Best regards
I have tried some things by myself.
Changed MID & CID for .617 BS_US001, but have NOT German Language (wife punished in my face ) and habe Patchlevel 08/2017
So I have flashed .401 HTC__001 after changing MID back and CID to HTC__001, I have Patchlevel 2/2017
Not really better, Bluetooth and WPA2 krack not solved! And THIS is a HTC One?
Why to buy a premium Mobile if it does not getting updates? So I can buy a mobile in China for some Bucks which is also not updated.... :-/
I go for Lineage OS for that reason (security patch). And phone work better ! (i simply re-install HTC camera)
For software numer 2.18.617.41, the Android Security Patch Level is August 1, 2017 which seems to be latest as of today; version is still Android 7.0.
2.18.617.56 was released a few days ago with November Security Patch

https://www.engadget.com/2016/08/25/htc-one-a9-android-update-promise/
When HTC launched the One A9, it promised to roll out new versions of Android "within 15 days" of their release. Pretty sweet, right? Well, it would be -- but that's not happening with Android 7.0. In a tweet, HTC said the new software will be hitting the HTC 10 in the fourth quarter of 2016, followed by the unlocked One M9, the unlocked One A9 and their carrier counterparts. The timeline suggests that the company will be breaking its promise with the One A9 -- Google released Nougat on August 22nd, meaning the phone would need to receive it by September 6th.
We reached out to HTC, and a spokesperson told us: "With the excitement around Android Nougat, we're aligning engineering resources around our most popular flagship products where the most customers will benefit." It's a shame, because the One A9 is a decent little phone. Admittedly, it's not a top-tier powerhouse like the HTC 10, but it's still capable.

That was when they broke their promise with quick updates. So basically HTC did not sell enough A9 phones and now they don't even bother.
Just the Flagships get some update attention from them. Situation is even worse now since Google bought all capable developers out of HTC.
Very sad about this -the A9 is a very good phone, but gets unlikely with such a bad support. And it was not the first time HTC dissapointed customer. And wondering later why so much people buy from other companys. I really like the phones, ideas and inventions -but if they are "old" after a couple of weeks.....
A man - a word! Why not a company - a word!? Get reliable again, please!

When LG will release global android P update for LG G7thinq.

Android P has been released in south korea and they haven't started even global beta for android P. I am more concerned about LG G7thinq update to android P in India. Guys do you have any news ? Or predictions
Sometimes mid or end of March if we are lucky. It might even be rolled out in April judging by how they rolled updates earlier.
It took them more then 3 months to roll out 4k 60 fps support for Indian model.
I wonder how companies like OnePlus can deliver updates quickly.

because they have less in quantity but more motivated stuff of developers, less corruption and bureaucracy than large giants like lg mobile. and yet 1+ has just 2 models, in fact one model per year cycle. it's far easier to update 1 model due to 1 SoC support instead of 4-5 Soc as have LG
I think CEO of LG Mobile still lives in XX century and thinks of smartphones as of like TV sets, which don't need monthly security patches.
OnePlus releases 2 phones a year similar to LG. LG also releases 2 flagship phones a year(not counting entry and budget) with same SOCs. Meanwhile LG didn't even update 1 phone, OnePlus successfully pushed updates to even last year's models. Even Samsung pushed Android pie to flagship's.
I love my G7 but I might buy a pixel 2 as a second phone just to stay in the Android update circle.
Even Samsung has update the s9 and Note 9. The s8 beta is live. There is no excuse for bull**** like that.
And after research I found out that it's the same with their old smartphone.
They have no place selling "flagships" if they are not supported.
Yesterday I saw an update coming I thought it was Pie sadly it was the December security patch. This is unnaceptable.
The bigest problem with LG is that they have so many diffrent firmwares for diffrent regions of the world. Why? Just an international model will be ok. Why so many versions of G7 for example? This fragmentation is the key for Bankruptcy!

Yes correct. Lg chose hardestway to implement software upgrade to smartphone. They don't have community where we can discuss bugs and update related query.
I contacted LG service center India and asked about pie update. They said it will be rolled out after v40 is launched in India. Estimate they gave was March or April.
This is unbelievable, they have update ready and just that they don't want to roll it off before their next phones release. This is straight a rip-off of consumers. LG should stop their carelessness attitude.
Incase if anyone wants to get in touch with LG (1800 315 9999 or 1800 180 9999)

I'm starting to feel the same. It was this or the p20 pro and the Huawei was sold out for two weeks until the end of the sale. I could of gotten a pixel or whatever but I had some bad luck with my last Google phone so yeah.... Idk the phone is good, but like seriously, BTS??? Why sell this in Canada? That "smart"world store is sad. Some of the fonts and stuff are ok, but like, if they put so much effort into regionlocking these phones, they could at least region lock the content in the lg store. Glad that "benefit" is over.
Definitely this is my first and last LG device, I had two options while buying this phone(G7 or op6).Since I was using one plus device for last 4 years I decided to go with LG and the phone is good but they screw us in updates. What makes them slow?. Are they not interested in Indian market.Lets trend this update issue by using #lgg7update #myfirstandlastlgphone.
My two cents is that the next version to get pie will be the EM and I'm highly doubtful it will happen before march/april
I agree that I have a Nexus hangover for quick updates but this doesn't mean that it takes a company more then 6 months to roll updates. It is totally not acceptable for a flagship phone.
I got convinced to buy this phone after watching pocket now review. Guess they get paid by LG for praising the phone.
Sure this phone have a good hardware but software updates are also necessary. Google re engineered Android with People Treble for faster updates, but it's is of no use for LG. Kudos to OnePlus, essential to release updates quickly. Even for Samsung who completely reimagined UI released update before LG.
People who feel the same please tell your friends and family to not to but LG.

This is a great phone for the price. The best audio ever.
So chill, you will have pie. Or you can flash the pie kdz. Or you can root and flash AOSP pie .
You have so many choices and you just wait and blame LG.

You should have been on the stage where LG CEO announced the update center to deliver software updates to tell potential customers like me and others to buy Apple. I spent my money and it's my right to curse LG if they are not delivering.
This post is under Guides, News, and Discussions and it seems like we are not breaking any rules. Also, LG is pretty bad with open source community, so there is nothing to tinker around LG phones and thus we discuss.
You can contribute to the community ...

is Android 10 update out there?

I have recently purchased this phone SIM free in the UK and was under the impression that the new android 10 update was released here for this phone. I have tried to update and it's not yet available for me and I've been unable to find very little on the web about it.
Anyone have it and know how I can upload it?
Try from hi-care app. But I read that in the uk still isn't available. Also you can try with live chat in hi-care app and support will tell you what is the latest software for your device

I've tried through hi care app and also tried changing the region but still no update. The odd YouTube video I've seen did say that it was available in the uk
So I guess nobody has it then?

Yes I'm in uk
Tried speaking with honor support on chat who were absolutely useless and basically told me that the update was being rolled out by carriers now.
I asked where did that leave me with my non carrier supported phone as I would have thought these would be the first devices to get it but they had no answer.
Greetings. Don't have this phone for global android 10 yet? Does anyone know when to release it to all phones? My problem is: I bought this phone in Hungary with a normal bill.
DE this phone has a Dutch region IMEI number. I only learned this later. Here in Hungary the local Huawei dealership does not allow fresh meals. The Dutch delegation did not reply to my letter.
I have tried everything on my UK sim free honor 20 to get android 10 but no joy. If anyone has a guide that would be much appreciated.
Dear everyone! I see this phone very soon left the manufacturer. I have my own experience. It will almost certainly not get an update like the HONOR 6 phone! HONOR 9 is one year and it's over! This has been abandoned by the manufacturers after half a year. What's the matter with whoever bought the rain series got the update? Whoever later bought is not! This is very uncommon. For those who later bought nothing? So the phone is cheaper to let down and not get an update. I can't find any other reason for this jaw-dropping update.
Hello,
It depends on your local carrier, not on HONOR. I received AndroidQ + MagicUI 3.0 about W49/W50 of year 2019.
Regards.

This is not true! If HONOR releases it for a phone, everyone should get it!
But not so! You won't get 2 identical devices at the same time. Even if you put them side by side on the table! One gets the other one may never! Do you know the difference between 2 HONOR 20s?
Serial number and IMEI number. Unfortunately HUAWEI does not deal with it here! I was screwed on the hot wire! However, all phones of the same type must receive the same system! No matter when you bought it and from whom! But not so!Isn't that a cool phone, is it? Not an old release? Then where's the problem?
That's exactly how it was with HONOR 9! Some people still do not have android 9!
I received it on 15th November

Today came an update: 9.1.0.172
So, it is not the supplier but the parent company that issues the updates. Lots of HONOR 20 have got the android 10 here.
Today's update is still not android 10 only patch.
Greetings! I read an article. According to Honor, there is no mention of the February update. Only devices purchased until November received the MAGIC 3.0. This is a big prank with the devices you bought afterwards! However, the Huawei list does not even include a HONOR phone. Maybe someone has news about this?
No, thay said, that it is postponed for february, will see. But, also they said that will be available monthly security updates, and there's nothing. For my Honor 20, ladt security update is October with Android 10.

Update tracking

Living in Europe, more specifically France, I am starting to worry that the security updates date from June 2020 on a smartphone that still wants to be mid / high-end. I hope that Oppo will promise a long software life for smartphones as competing brands can do.
