LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Lol

I couldnt make telephone work even with headphones. It makes calls but no sound. Sound works fine in other ways though. Phone app is so laggy btw. Great job to be honest. When the sound problem is fixed this can be used as a daily driver. Waiting for updates. Best of luck.

i tried several popular apps in rom;
*- duo app, whatsapp app and telegram app can't use camera and microphone.
*- whatsapp, telegram and phone calls but no sound.
*- rotation is not available.
*- sometimes applications crash.
*- video players are unstable. when i restart the phone they are fixed.
*- wifi unstable.
everything else seems to be working fine except these. i will continue to test and report any bugs i encounter. i wish you success.

Hey man just a small request. Can you please link the device tree repository you're using? Tryna get into some android ROM work and want to see your examples. Would be epic if you could provide a link.

Do you know a solution for the sound in phone calls that I can fix man? Even if there is no sound, being able to use phone calls is enough for me to use this rom. (and I really want to use this rom xd)

Can't say anything without logs and plus the dev already knows the blob thats causing probs. So just wait for a while it'll prolly get fixed.
Also ig it'd be more convenient for the dev if you guys posted logs and uploaded the logs to pastebin or something

Thanks a ton man this helps a lot. Was looking for some examples of fixing stuff. So this is golden.

Please give a link to the instructions for installing google apps

It seems that the selinux status is always permissive, any idea?

Hi, I've installed and used ROM for an hour. It looks awesome!
I couldn't make a call with bluetooth headphones. I can't hear the other person and other person can't hear me.
As mentioned above rotation does not work for me as well.
Though the only major problem is audio. I can't use my phone without calls, so I'll have to wait.
But it was really nice to see an up-to-date Android version. It has a lot features. I've been using Android 7 for long time. It would be nice if we could use this rom. So thanks for your efforts.
I also would like donate if I could but there are no links.

I'm waiting for the updated version.

Default camera app is not saving the recorded file. When I record a video it successfully starts and stops bir there iş no video stored in the device.

thumbs up
Thanks for LOS. Will be testing it
Installed and looks like everything works fine except notch support.
Network indicator gets cropped.
Everything works great, just i would like to ask if there's gonna be any gestures support so we can hide notification bar?
Notch
I hope notch support works correctly?Because ive tested various oreo gsis and none of them have decent notch support(ie icons too far to the left, wrong sized icons etc.)
Otherwise im all set to switch to this rom from Arrow OS 9.0(pie),which is quite stable atm
Thanks!

I don't think LOS will have gestures. You can install Fluid Navigation Gesture app from play store. It works good.
You can also wait for many different roms that will come up in the next few days. Havoc, Crdroid etc. They will probably have gesture support built in.

Nope just installed it and the notch is not yet correctly taken into account for statusbar messages.
Wow!!! looks great!! Great job!????????
But i cant test, I'm on stock rom
Nice work dev, awesome ROM, just having one issue. On loudspeaker the other person hear multiple echoes of their own voice. Looking for an update, keep up the good work.
Hey dev,
Using this ROM for 2 day's and still on it.
Everything works fine didn't find any issue.
Only thing signals are lil weak.
And some notch issue.
Thank for this ROM and a big :good: for you
Family Link works!
I installed this ROM on my kid's phone because I needed Family Link to work! It works! Pico opengapps seemed to be crashing so I installed stock opengapps. Thank you so much! Please keep developing!
I noticed the signal appears to be weaker too.
I'll observe for a few more days since I'm now running this ROM for barely 15 minutes.

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled ROMs, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best ROM we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub...
What is PAX?
Our release of Android 10, titled CR-8.0, is codenamed PAX after the latin word for peace and Pax, the roman godess for peace.
PAX provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. PAX delivers a set of unique features, like a systemwide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! As always, make sure to do backups.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server or Telegram group! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.

okay thanks, I'll try Dolby.
I tried to lock LTE bands using Network signal guru app(with root). But it showed me below prompt mentioning locking features aren't available.

Do you have any plans to enable band locking features?
Note: previously, I was able to lock bands in other roms, but i think they were not on same vendor/system versions, so not sure if this is rom specific or vendor specific

On statusbar, battery percentage font style is different than clock font style. Battery percentage has regular font style while clock has medium font style. I usually saw that battery percentage has medium font style like I saw on such as Lineageos. Could you please look into it? I wish that battery percentage has medium font style too. Thanks a lot.

LineageOS needs no introductions. This is an unofficial port of Nougat for the LeapFrog Epic, a children's educational Android tablet released in 2015 yet still hasn't received a major operating system update since then, despite the Epic being (theoretically) capable of running anything newer than Kitkat, or perhaps even PostmarketOS for that matter.
- EVEN MORE IMPORTANT:
The ROM will only work with an unlocked bootloader which removes signature enforcement on both SP Flash Tool and whenever the tablet boots up. Links to the hacked preloader, LK and TWRP recovery image can be found here. Flashing these can be a risky proposition so it is advised to do a full EMMC backup of the device prior to modding your Epic. A backup procedure can be found on this blog post.
- IMPORTANT:
You should only flash Magisk via TWRP as updating or installing it via the manager will cause a boot loop. In case you end up with such an issue just flash the ROM again and you should be fine.
Also, this does not come with a kids' mode UI and will cut you off from LeapFrog online services such as the App Centre and the Academy programme. You may however download the LeapFrog Academy app from the Play Store (assuming you installed an OpenGapps package, duh...) Whether it is possible to bring back the kids and parents launcher along with some services through a flashable zip is yet to be determined, but that wouldn't be a priority issue for now.
Installation instructions
- Unlock the bootloader and install TWRP
- Boot to TWRP by pressing volume up + power
- Wipe system, data and cache
- Install the LineageOS zip you just downloaded
- ...
- PROFIT!
Rules
- Please search the thread before asking questions
- Please try to stay on topic, I know it's not always possible
- Please report bugs here

Thanks guys! I'm actually tempted to port Pie or 10 to the Epic based on the efforts of one dude who did a similar feat on his Galaxy S2, but I thought it would be a monumental task especially with 10 requiring system-as-root.

Thanks! We actually tried using your kernel at some point but that proved to be a pain to set up, so we decided to just kang the kernel sources and blobs off @Stricted's ttab build instead.
That being said we do need some aid on optimising the build though, but this is hampered by the fact that not everyone has an Epic with them, not unless they have kids who outgrew this device lol.
@Ziona @ggow Any ideas on how to fix them lingering issues with the battery tho?

I'm going to help if possible, but bare in mind without having a test device its extremely hard to aid in this well.

That wont be possible, did you also get to confirm that the device is entering deep sleep state , an not stuck in Partial Wake Lock.

If the device is not then battery will suffer.
Try by adding smart kernel manager app an check deep sleep state after screen is off a minute or so an then back on.
On first screen menu theirs a CPU uptime listing, check if no deep sleep is listed .

Lol that spam wasn't expected.
Anyway, I'd like to continue on with this, but my friends and I do need help in regards to the issues I outlined in the first page.
Nice work!
Is this a practically usable build, or more of an experimental project? My son (5 1/2yrso) has an Epic and I'm terribly frustrated at how dated it has become simply because of KitKat rather than the actual hardware. I wanted to put PBS Kids Games app on it this morning and it's giving me an about Crosswalk Project Services. I tried manually installing that and it still just doesn't work.
If this is just an experimental project, is there anything post-KitKat that would be for me?
Thanks, and again, Great Work!

Apologies for the late reply, but I've been busy lately with various other matters so I haven't really had the time to tend to this project. It is for the most part functional, but battery life is abysmal and hardware video codecs are for some reason not working.

Due to icon pack set things to default. Will be fixed in nxt update.
The only thing I noticed so far is that the fingerprint scanner animation is not placed correctly in some apps.
Works great so far. Feels very smooth. Did not encountered any major issues. Kudos to team.
So far found these issues.
Camera app crashes upon opening. Hence using GCam as alternative.
UDFPS is not at proper place in few apps.
Battery backup is slightly on lower side but using since 2 days, so it might improve after few more days.
the screen recorder is very laggy
Anybody have any luck getting unlimited google photos original quality upload, I believe its possible to trick google photos into thinking the phone is a Pixel 1

Update:
Battery backup is slightly improved after few cycles. Getting around 4:30-5:00 hrs of SOT.
No major hiccups found. Pretty stable apart from above two issues.
1. Settings crashes when use hotspot and tethering.
2. Screen Recorder lags while recording. Output looks smooth though.
is it possible to install this rom using pixel experience recovery? thanks.

so, official twrp 3.7 doesn't officially support android 13 yet and this is why i need a custom build from zeelog? huh, interesting. i guess you also forked his kernel tree?
plus, would be nice if you could provide "vanilla" builds (and yes, I do understand that you ship with gapps to avoid comments like: "no gapps?", "recommend gapps", "issue with gapps" etc. but it would be cool nonetheless)
would also be nice if you looked into using divestos's cve kernel patcher (while of course crediting them)

Yes it is.
best rom for mido, try other but this one smooth with good memory management & speed. only one problem found, AIRTEL LTE data signal is good but NO INTERNET ACCESS. change APN settings but no success. Please rectify this.
your download server keeps crashing the download randomly.
I have tried to download three times already and still, tried from pling as well (as it happens to be the source on Elixir's website) but it seems pling doesn't mirror it just points to the same download server so download crashes before it even reaches 1GB.
It says "network error" but idk man I've downloaded Ubuntu 23 and a couple other builds for mido with no issue so I cannot know how it may be an issue on my side
Gonna give it a few hours and try later.
edit: nvm I cannot wait so I bridged the download to a virtual machine in another country and it went just fine and then ok to my PC as well. So it probably was some regional issue or whatever.
Thank you for the great work!
This brought back to life my 6 years old phone!
Unfortunately, i can confirm hotspot does not seem to work. Is there any chance this will be fixed?

Same here. In my case, trying to turn hotspot on makes the setting application to crash, and generally breaks WiFi operation as a station too.
Also: Bluetooth in hands-free profile (aka Bluetooth classic for phone calls) does not work. As soon as a phone call starts, the bluetooth device enters a disconnect/reconnect loop, until at some point the phone switches to the phone audio.
EDIT: @sourav24071999 logcats for the two failures:

hello, see my previous post: in my case bluetooth for media works (A2DP profile), but bluetooth for calls does not (HFP profile). Can you confirm same for you ? Also, I did not manage to get the hotspot working.
