Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to unlock the bootloader of the Moto Edge without it going from Widevine L1 to L3? Its a bummer that unlocking the bootloader for this phone will cause it to drop to widevine L3, because then many streaming apps like Netflix will no longer stream in HD ever, it will be locked to SD quality, 480p.
If there is no way to unlock the bootloader without losing Widevine L1, does anyone have any workarounds to get it back? Maybe through a Magisk module or modding the streaming app? I appreciate any guides, ideas, or advice that can be provided, thanks!

My Razr M has been rooted for several months now, and I've noticed since being rooted two services no longer work like they should. The watch espn app no longer loads anything I try to watch, and hulu+ now has a problem loading the adds, which consequently stops all playback. Also, the hulu+ app on other devices(Roku, PS3, tablet) that are connected to the Razr M hotspot act the same way.
From what I can tell it's only these two apps that don't like the root... Is anyone else experiencing these playback problems? and is there a way to fix it?
H,
A friend is facing a problem with her Vivo S1. She recently updated her phone, which now shows as having Funtouch OS 9.2. The problem is, after the update, whenever she tries to play a video in full screen in ether of the three apps, netflix, prime video or hotstar, it just shows a black screen but the audio can be heard. The apps were working fully before the update. After looking around on the internet, i came across a few possible reasons, one being an issue with the full screen settings of apps, but when she goes to the full screen settings, there are no apps to modify. Another issue could be DRM if some other apps are allowed to draw over then these apps might not work, is that possible, if so, can anyone please give a solution for this particular OS, because i could not find that anywhere.
Did you get a solution please let know I am also getting same issue
I bought this v50 from aliexpress. It's a refurbished unit.
Phone looks impeccable on the outside. But first day had this weird issue that light & proximity sensor wasn't working.
Rebooted phone and it all worked correctly. I remember using Test Patterns in Netfix that day, and resolution was capping at 540p.
I thought that maybe was because there were apps still updating at the time, so didn't cared too much.
Until the other day that I tried to view some content in Netflix.
Noticed that it wasn't displaying correctly. So checked in Netflix settings, and it states that my device is only L3 Capable.
So I go and download DRM Info app, and result is the same. Widevine L3 only.
I factory reset the phone, first thing after reinstalling, downloaded DRM INFO.
Still Widevine L3.
My v50 is Korean model from SKT , LM-V500N. Android 10, June 2020 patch.
Hi! Sorry if this is in the wrong forum - I'm kinda new here. I was hoping to get JoyCon Droid working on my OnePlus 6 when I learned that unfortunately the required HID Bluetooth functionality is disabled in OxygenOS for whatever reason. I've done some research and people have been able to enable HID Bluetooth when rooted by changing a setting in /res/values/config.xml and enabling the service with adb.
I would rather not root my phone as I need it to be able to pass SafetyNet to use certain apps. I've read that it's possible to modify system files without root by using adb from a pc. I would attempt this but I'm afraid it might trigger SafetyNet. I'm not entirely sure how their checks work though. Thoughts?
Is there a way to prevent the automatic T-Mobile update to android 12? Currently, I have Android 11 installed and I super happy about it since I have no issues with it at all, but my phone is trying to update itself to Android 12 which I would like to avoid because I heard horrible stories about the newest android version on OnePlus 9. I turned off the "Automatic system updates" under the Developer Options but on the official OnePlus forum I learned that this doesn't work since the software upgrade is pushed by T-Mobile not by OnePlus (at least this is how I understand it). Therefore, is there any workaround? My phone is network unlocked (but not bootloader unlocked) and if possible I would like to permanently disable the upgrade notifications (and the automatic upgrade) without altering the original firmware too much (like unlocking bootloader or installing any custom ROMs). I heard that there is the ADB tool which could be helpful but I'm not quite sure what commands should I issue to fix my problem.
The biggest issue is that every night I have to remember to turn off my phone since otherwise upgrade will be enforced between 12am and 6am which at the beginning wasn't a big deal, however, after two months is getting bit annoying...
If you are willing to unlock bootloader, this can be fixed in 3 seconds.
Well, so let's say that I'm going to unlock the bootloader (I was expecting that I will have to do it eventually, and I found a good tutorial of how to do it here: https://www.oneplus.com/support/answer/detail/op588). How could I prevent the upgrade to Android 12 then?
The second you root it. Done
Turn on data saver and set your WiFi to metered and done! No root needed!! It's working!!
