Hello. I'm a little paranoid here. Please help me.
I was trying to update my Samsung Galaxy mini (s5570) with kies. Electricity went off while "downloading" image was on the screen. I panicked and remove phone's battery and make it off. (I don't know why)
Since then I have black screen. I can't get into recovery mode etc. But when I plug in the phone, pc sees it. Kies fails repairing it.
Phone has a 7digit screen lock and avast anti theft installed. If I gave it somebody to repair, can he repair and read the smses inside it? The data on the phone is not important to lose, but I don't want somebody read my sms. Is it possible?

Is it possible? Maybe but no repair shop would do it. Can you get into download mode? You most likely corrupted the software and it may need to be jtaged

Anti theft apps really dont work if someone knows what they are doing. If the computer can see it then it is possible to pull the info from the phone. It will not be easy but it can be done. Passwords have no use unless the phone is on.

Is it possible to wipe it myself? I searched web but I couldn't menage to find something. I can't get the phone recovery or downloading mode. is it still possible to delete the things in?

The only way to wipe it is to flash new software to it. Think of it like a PC hard drive. As long as it has not been over written then the info can be recovered but if it get over written then it is gone. To be honest you have little to no worry as to do what you are afraid of would take way too much time for a repair shop to even deal with.

My gf's father said that he'll repair, and is coming here to take the phone tomorrow. I don't know if he'll try but I'm still worried

Unless he is an Android/Linux hardcore developer you have nothing to worry about. Even Then it would take him a week or more to do it.
No, it won't be possible. The only way to fix it would be to get a stock image on the device through either Jtag or odin. Once that is done, it will be clean slate and without you signing into your Google account, their will be no indication that the phone was ever yours...

No problem. Only know as I had to do it for one of my devices and it took me a month to get it to where I could mount it on a linux box and then pull what I needed from the system partition.

I received my Nexus 5 some days ago, I rooted it with the CF-AutoRoot, it worked fine, but since today, it is bricked. By the magic operation of Jesus maybe, who knows.
It don't boot, I don't see anything on the screen, I don't know if it is turned on or off… It just won't reply. To anything, fastboot, adb or whatever else. I can't boot in recovery or something else.
I think I have a splendid bricked late-2013 phone… I followed some tutorials to unbrick phones, the power + trick, but nothing.
The only thing I have on a windows computer is a "tadam" when I plug the USB, but that's it, no fastboot or adb, no screen, nada. But this sound of a plugged USB device. Knuh…
What the hell can I do ?
Shall I call Google tomorrow for RMA ?
ps: i saw some threads like me, i followed replies, but after a 4 hours searching, I don't wake up my phone

Hmmm... sounds like your bootloader is corrupt dude Weird, you are like the third today who has bricked the Nexus. All you can do now is RMA it and hope for the best.

If the phone is truly bricked, and it seems like it is, then Google won't be able to boot up the phone so they won't know you've unlocked the bootloader

Yh, that will work There are legitimate cases of phones not booting up so they may think you are one of them. Also I doubt the Google representative will care much for the reason. Their job is just to arrange the RMA

How do you know the phone isn't booting due to his bootloader being unlocked? He even said it was fine and it was not booting today....

Maybe I was not clear in my first message but I rooted it, yes, but it worked! Since 3 days it works. But today, I really don't know why, I don't update or something else like changing rom (I'm on stock rom etc), it doesn't boot anymore.

I feel for you that your phone isn't working. Fraud isnt the answer. do you HONESTLY feel you'd get the same answer from Google if you told them that you rooted/unlocked and now your phone isn't working?
just saying that those who f up and make everyone pay for it are wrong. I personally like paying 400 for the 32gb device. I'd rather not pay 500 because of people who mess up and now make the cost/device go up due to rma's that are not legit.

Dude you need to chill a little. Unlocking your bootloader does not completely null warranty. If you brick your phone via software then you are responsible.
By the sounds of what is happening with the op, he has not changed anything to end up in this predicament. As with the other purple with similar problems (unlocking bootloader resulting in brick) can hardly be pointed at them.
Clearly something is happening which is out of user control which is causing these bricks.
If the ROM fails to boot it will throw you back to the bootloader.
If the bootloader fails you have a brick (not 100% true but not going into that now)
The facts are that the op has unlocked the bootloader which is a legitimate task and has for unknown reasons ended up with a corrupt bootloader.
This should still be covered as the op has not fine anything to solicit what had happened.

Personally from my own experience, as the disclaimer on the bootloader unlock screen states 'This MAY void your warranty', telling Google the truth would be his best bet. Call Google, advise that the bootloader was unlocked and worked for 3 days and then it suddenly stopped booting.
If you bought a Nexus 5 and don't plan to do anything to it then that's up to you. However some of us buy Nexus devices because of the ease of development on them. Google facilitate this with the ability to unlock the bootloader and have no justifiable reason to refuse an RMA when all the OP has done is unlock said bootloader.
Why don't YOU stop being a **** and get off this thread. Please.

Apparently yes, I'm not the only one. It would be great if you try to explain your solution!
I've followed directions in the following two forums (and sifted through many, many others here):

I've contacted OnePlus support and received new persist.img and other 38R files directly from them. I've flashed EVERYTHING in any number of ways. I've even tried CM nightly's...
But no matter what I do this phone constantly reboots. All the friggin' time. Randomly. Sometimes up to a few dozen times a day. It'll just be sitting there and it'll reboot. It'll happen when I'm using Chrome, checking my email, or when I look at it wrong. OnePlus keeps telling me it'll be fixed with the next update, but I have my doubts (since they said that before 38R was pushed).
Does anybody have any ideas on how to debug this? I am not new to android, but I'm also not all that knowledgeable about it. I'd love to see some system logs or something that'll point to what is causing these crashes, but I'm at a loss. Beyond debugging does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing it? Bad spot of memory, storage, anything? I'm at my wits end. I love the device, but can't stand these reboots that seemingly nobody else has to suffer.
Have you tried any other ROMs apart from CM?

No, and I don't particularly want to. If it doesn't work with what it is supposed to then I would rather have my money back and move on to a different device. Personally I can't stand most ROMs. I like plain android and CM, but otherwise I haven't ever used one I liked. As far as it goes I may try another one just to see if the issue persists, but that's a whole lot of hassle over what would ultimately have me ask for a refund anyway.
Why not try Paranoid Android?
I'll give that one a try. Assuming the issue continues to happen, what then?

There really isn't very much difference between CM and other ROMs anyway. If it continues then I'd suggest starting the RMA process.

My battery died, after recharge i couldn't access my phone... It says my screen lock pin is wrong! - I NEVER CHANGED IT
And there is no way to reset it without erasing all my data... i had no backups and my engagements photos were there...
'Find my phone' stopped working after the restart (whats the point of it? why does 'find my phone' isn't auto-running and connecting to google? it means that anybody can steal the phone and just restart, wipe it, and use it? this is crazy)
Is there anything that can be done to get my data back?

Not backing up your data, then panicking when things go wrong. Unfortunately, an all too common story I've seen on these forums. If the data is important to you, back it up. Don't want to sound overly harsh, but expecting these devices to be foolproof, it not a reasonable expectation. Maybe you just had this engagement event quite recently, and haven't had a chance to backup. But otherwise (as is the story for most folks) no backup plans or habits exist, which you now see is not a good idea.
It doesn't look good. They intentionally prevent data from being retrieved without the password, by design. I know that part is not your fault, it seems some error or corruption has resulted in your password being changed unintentionally.
If you previously modded/rooted the phone, and have TWRP installed there is a small chance (at least worth trying) that you can boot into TWRP and mount storage. But that will likely also prompt you for the passcode and give you the same error/problem. On a stock device (never modified), you have little or no means of retrieving the data.
Your best hope is probably to consider whether you had some cloud backup apps setup, that you might not be thinking about regularly (and may have forgotten about). Example, if you ever used the Google Photos app (not a default app on this phone from what I recall, but maybe you installed it at some point?), it will backup your photos to the cloud, with very little action on your part. You can then still access those photos from a computer or other device, once logged onto your Google account. Maybe only a slim chance of something like that having happened, but you don't have many options at this point.

Really isn't going to happen ever. I've seen folks complain about type of thing happening on various devices for years. Never seen any type of "bypass" technique.

These unlocking softwares? Such as dr.fone can unlock Samsung phones... with enough time they will be able to do that to oneplus maybe?
Is there anything special in Oneplus design that will prevent future unlocking?

such things won't happen.. You just cant access the data when the BL it locked, sorry for that. Just make some backups the next time

From what I can tell, that app requires root, and the reviews are pretty negative.
Can you try enter many time wrong pin and then go to forget password/pin? If you make this you can log with your Google accaunt

Lots of personal and financial info on these devices, that thieves will try to steal. That is why the data is inaccessible if you don't have the password. That may not apply to you, but it definitely happens.
I'm not sure what's going on with my camera but I'm noticing that I keep getting camera failed sometimes when i try to take a picture. It sometimes happens with the main camera but it happens more often with the wide lens camera. It doesn't happen every single time but it is starting to happen more often. This is on the stock Samsung camera.
I tried clearing cache and i cleared data.
My camera seems to work fine when i the Expert raw Samsung camera. Not sure what else to do to try to fix the problem.
Send it in for service or return it.
If there's a Best Buy with a Samsung Experience center they can run advanced diagnostic tests on it and if it's firmware caused reflash it.

Yeah I know. It's new, expensive and it should work. In the long run it will save you time and cursing. A return is best... bug out with a cash refund if you don't really like the device.
There are many options available including older devices. I'm running N10+'s and there's simply nothing new I would trade them for.
