I am currently trying to root my Motorola G3 2015 (XT1541) and whenever I try to install SuperSU through TWRP Recovery it will install then I will get stuck on the Warning Bootloader Unlocked Screen when booting. The SuperSU I'm trying to install is V2.46. I've tried install SuperSU 3 times and they all failed. Is there any way to install it without this happening? Thanks!
Note:I am not an expert on these kind of things so I wont understand complicated methods.
you need to use this specific version

There are no less than 3 threads dedicated to rooting this device on Marshmallow that are tested and working... did all of them not work for you?
Yeah bro there is such kind of problem on rooting stock marshmallow ROM but I used kingroot v 4.8.2 for rooting if your bootloader is unlocked.

Never use a one-click root method on a Moto unlocked device... Seen way to many bricked devices, always root manually.
It is easy to find, there is a thread in my signature.

If you have current SuperSU and TWRP, and use the echo command to create /data/.supersu it will work, if it isn't please go to thread in my signature and provide details including:
1) Device model and Android version
2) TWRP version
3) SuperSU version
4) Output of 'cat /data/.supersu' from TWRP terminal
And a copy of recovery.log if possible, without more specific information there is nothing that I can do to assist you.
Root checker just says "root is not properly installed", would like to know if upgrading and the rooting from there would be the best choice. Using 6.0.0.1 Marshmellow

The more updated the less likely your going to be able to root.. last time I heard of rooting the G3 you needed to downgrade to Kitkat
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why KitKat? I hear there are some Nougat things but i've only seen this when google search for "root" methods specifically.

You have to downgrade. There are tutorials out there. I had to go back to 5.0 so I could root it, then install twrp with twrp manager, then install 7.0. There are no shortcuts. Use LG Tool to flash stock firmware. Here is one of the tutorials: https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/general/downgrade-lg-g3-d850-to-kit-kat-t3437524

Solved my issue of rooting by downgrading to 4.2 in LG Flash Tool without any problems, I guess my only question now is how do I get to 7.1 Nougat without any issues?

I went to RR 7.0. Some you have to bump. But, if you must have twrp, then download the rom, and gapps on your sd card. Go to twrp. Wipe, then install. I have did it and all runs good. Installing twrp is easy. Go to playstore. Get twrp manager and install twrp. Reboot to recovery. Boom.

You don't, kingroot is used on android 4 also known as kitkat, downgrade to that then use it.
I am new to rooting but if I understand it correctly. I can download the latest SuperSU file and install root on any device that has TWRP right?
While CF-Auto root doesnt require TWRP, you can install it straight from odin3.

5.0 and 9.0
On Android 5 device you can flash SuperSU, on Android 9 SuperSU is wrong choice.
Same is true for CF-Auto-Root.

I did and found some research, but I am kind of scared to brick anything. Ive rooted my tablet (5.1), I didnt care if it bricks it costed 50$, but the root worked. The problem is my personal phone, I dont want to brick it.
magisk is more up to date for root, I wouldn't bother with anything else.
if your phone can get a custom recovery fairly easily then root is even easier (depending on the phone and android version).
you can root without a custom recovery but it's more involved and not entirely newbie friendly.
if your phone model has a forum dedicated to it here, that's where you wanna be !!!
