Reading on a few forums they say the Flip3 has ANT+ but when I tried the AntTester app it shows I don't. And it wont connect to any ANT+ devices.
Is this correct? we dont have ANT+
I found this:
samsung s21 ultra ant+ not supported
Just spent over an hour of wasted time on support chat Just trying to check on ant+ and why not working on the phone. Never got a straight answer. Why can't people just be clear and honest does it support or not. I mind me annoyed as doesn't but not as much as not getting straight answer. My...

ANT+ support missing?!
Hello, I just received my new S21+ and transferred all data and applications to it. All good, but when I tried to start ANT+ connectivity... to my dismalness, I noticed that support seems to be missing: ANT Tester reports that built-in ANT was...

Not sure if it's true or not. Samsung can be a squirrelly lot...
Some are saying it's Android 11 not supporting it anymore. Security, so secure nothing works right.
I never used it, but you got me curious.
Now you know why I got second N10+... not at all happy with the latest Samsung devices or Android 11
I found this, a site that has all the devices compatible with ANT+, not sure how current it is :
Directory - THIS IS ANT
ANT is a Wireless Personal Network protocol, by Garmin Canada, with small size, reasonable cost and very low power requirements.
www.thisisant.com
There's also an app in the Google Play Store to detect it on a device:
ANTtester - Apps on Google Play
Test your device for ANT+™ capabilities
play.google.com
There's various official ANT apps in the store as well, not sure if they will provide the functionality you're looking for.
@senergy
I know nada about ANT, your post piqued my interest.......
It's listed here https://www.thisisant.com/directory/galaxy-z-flip/
but doesn't look like it has the required firmware.
How it comes originally.

After I installed the following
ANT USB Service
ANT Radio Service
ANT+ Plugins Service
And this is what it looks like my Tablet S4, where ANT+ works fine.
Interesting. On my N10+ Pie variant all of those are preinstalled except the Ant USB service.
I plugged a USB Ant+ stick and now it looks to be work. So after installing the extra services it can work with with usb-on the go.
@senergy
Does the USB ANT+ stick need to be plugged in to your phone at all times to achieve the connectivity you're looking for?
Also, is there a mfg's app that needs to be installed (ex:FitBit app)?
Just curious,as all my wireless accessories only need Bluetooth for functionality. I'd heard of ANT+, but, never had the necessity for it.
THX.
Yes the USB Stick needs to be plugged in for connectivity.
I have lots of equipment that uses ANT+, Heart Rate strap. Bicycle Lights, Bicycle Power Pedals, wheel pressure.. etc..
Depending on what your trying to do you need the apps.
My particular use case is I use Zwift on the phone connected to my indoor trainer or treadmil and wanted the HR monitor.
I got it working now, but without HDMI output it's kinda half arsed.. so back to the S9+ in the gym.
Not good. It's like others described.
Who dropped the ball, Google Android or Samsung?
Pretty slimy...

Hey guys,
Not sure if this exists, or if someone could point me to a product which does what I'm looking for. Basically, I want a device that will connect via Bluetooth to my HTC Uni, and use the remote control functions of AVRCP to allow me to pause/play/next/prev/etc. via this little remote control. I do NOT need the device to do A2DP, as I already hard-wire in the speakers.
I know there may not be much of a need, but I want this functionality for when I go snowboarding, and I keep my HTC Uni in my jacket pocket (in an aluminum case of course!). I already have headphones in my touque/hat, so they would be connected directly to my Uni, then I wanted a device that I could strap to my wrist or jacket which I could hit "next/prev track, etc."
I am thinking that without the A2DP streaming music, I might be able to save on battery, as the device would only be a "Bluetooth AVRCP Media Remote". I tried searching the net for the past 4 hours, but came up with nothing.
The only device that almost caught my attention was the Motorola S705 Bluetooth Soundpilot, but it has a headphone connection on it (I just want the AVRCP remote control functionality).
Now maybe I am dreaming, since I've never actually played with an A2DP/AVRCP device before, so I'm not even sure if the headset port on my Uni would become deactivated if an A2DP/AVRCP device were to connect with the phone.
EDIT: I've actually found a picture of the setup that I'm talking about from the official Bluetooth page:
(it's the 2nd pic, note the fine print: "* the audio stream is not handled in this profile"...what i need!)

It just refers to that you also need to have A2DP support. However, the two may not be separated - unless someone has managed to "hack" this.
If nothing else works, you might want to give a try to UPnP, along with a remote controllable player like Conduits Pocket Player. Note that it doesn't use AVRCP but UPnP and might only work via Wi-Fi (I haven't tested it over BT PAN).
See my UPnP Bible for more info.
Thanks for your reply Menneisyys,
Now I understand a bit more about how those technologies work, and although I wasn't in dire need of such a controller, I appreciate your information.
I do use CorePlayer, and I have heard that it supports AVRCP, but until I can get a controller-only piece of hardware, I probably won't keep looking into this (only to get my hopes up).
Wouldn't it be great though to have a small iPod-like device that could control your phone via BT? Think about the situations where you might have your phone wired to a nice speaker system, but are chilling outside. You wouldn't even have to aim the remote!
I am thinking too far outside of the box now though, and if I only had the means, time and most importantly, knowledge, to create such a device, I would be ALL over it!
Hopefully someone has read into this, and maybe we'll see such a device down the line....for now, it's more waiting time!

I'd love to see something on it, i've been using it for a while and i believe it's pretty good for its cost. Especially the call and alarm vibration are the most important characteristics for me.
Someone already did:

I think the band is major, save trying to see the display in direct sunlight. Definitely win for the money. The upgraded official app is much better than the initial one. Too bad my Note 1 doesn't have BLE, looks like it's time for an upgrade. . .

How do you use the call vibration? It is not working for me just if the Vidonn app is running... (I have Samsung S4)
I'd love to use it as a call or alarm notifier for calls, messages etc cause my phone is on silent 24/7...

This is really useful, i wish it could support call notification ,too
i want it
I'm using a lot and appreciate the vibrate alarm and clock function, for these characteristics would be worth the expense. He is not very accurate for calculation activities, but I believe that no wristband pedometer that only use either (no GPS), since actions like brushing your teeth can be confused with an activity (walking or running). But with the function of analyzing a specific activity, it is more accurate at this point then is another good feature. To end it does not depend on a software as has a LED screen and is still easy charging, since he alone is already a usb.
what is the price
i would like to know the price of this bracelet, i search it on their website but i couldn't find the price
I recently tried to start using Google Pay. Out of 5 attempts to use it, it worked only once.
I suspect maybe I just don't know proper way/place to put the phone on the terminal. Or maybe it is being closed when screen is off. I did make sure that the battery option is to not close it.
Any suggestions?
Use it all the time.... Never failed me yet.. <kiss of death >
Just make sure you unlock your phone and have it on the home page. You DONT need to open the Google pay app.. Also make sure nfc is always on.. When I use it I just touch the phone camera on the contact less symbol. Screen up. And ping! money taken....

And I have google pay set automatic under battery /launch.
Thanks forthe feedback.
Well, I'm giving up on it for now. In some cases it doesn't work (maybe the cashier tells me wrong about out being available).
More of the problem is that in my area even places that take mobile payments take one other than Google Pay. Interestingly I find more taking Samsung pay. I don't know why a Samsung user would use that instead of Google.
Also I find it interesting that vendors would use one and not another, given that the are only three that likely would be used be the masses.

I'm also fairly new to this contactless payment and is clueless about paying with devices until recently I bought a fitbit versa for my wife which has fitbit pay.
From what I understand (anyone pls correct me if I'm wrong), as long as the cashier accepts contactless payment, you can use any types including all credit and debit cards with this wave logo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Americanexpressplatinumemvcontactless.jpg), android pay, apple pay, samsung pay, fitbit pay and etc. I have yet to see fitbit pay logos at all cashiers here and wife has been using it successfully.
Also, when trying to pair with my Jabra headset using nfc, it's impossible to pair it with the phone when there's a cover (Nillkin) on so maybe that is the problem. Perhaps you can find another nfc device to practice on your phone.
I have Samsung ecosystem - S21 phone, Watch4 and Buds+ . recently I bought SE7 FE and I can't make it even to see earbuds - tried both Galaxy Wear and just "standard" bluetooth connection. Scan does not find any BT devices around. Is it a way to run self test to see if BT even works?
Another question - some of my apps now are running in Full screen mode. And I can't figure how to change that - there is no Full screen apps setting under Display section anymore - any idea?
Read this. It may be helpful.
If your Buds+ sound quality is good, Do Not upgrade their firmware. I recently had the sound Q of my one pair trashed by a firmware upgrade. Roll back on them is a pain to do. The last version firmware on the last manufactured Buds+ is the best.
Thanks for replying, nice to know how to flush Buds firmware.
I dont think it is the same issue- mine just dont show up in S7 - I think the problem is on tablet side to be honest. Need to find another pair of BT headphones to test it out.

Try the akps I posted on the other link thread.
First uninstall all the current ones. Remember to firewall block them. Known to work on Pie and 10 at least with stock N10+ snaps.
Lol, the way to flash firmware on a pair of Buds+ is not too Samsung roulette.

How many devices are they paired to? To my knowledge you can only pair Galaxy Buds/Buds+ to two different devices.

Is it a way to check? Even if both spots are taken, shouldn't Galaxy Wearable shows it?

Not true at least on the N10+. I have pair of Buds and 3 pairs of Buds+.
Here's 3 of those that are set up to automatically pair. The one pair of Buds+ is waiting a reflash to fix a Samsung firmware "upgrade" that trashed their sound.

Could not find a forum for OTT boxes.
Please direct me to it, if it exists.
I was given an M8S OTT box and am trying to get it to work.
I have plugged it in to my TV [HDMI cable].
I have connected it to the internet via cat cable.
When I turn my TV on all I get is a M8S logo that states amlogic, H.265, 8 core, Mali 450 and Quad Core A9.
I have downloded the users guide but it is not a lot of help in the info department.
There is a USB dongle in a USB slot at the back for a bluetooth keyboard, the keyboard lights up, but again no reaction from OTT box.
The box that the keyboard came in says it is for an Android TV Box.
The remote flashes red when I hit buttons but does not seem to react.
The remote does not seem to turn machine on/off.
I have found a site that shows how to reset to factory defaults.
I have read about getting into recovery mode using a USB keyboard.
I have not done either.
Can anyone suggests what my next moves should be?
Thanks
Requires Ethernet connection?
Yes, but I am not sure how to do this as I cannot setup to sign in.
That's how an Ethernet cable looks

Yes that is what I have plugged in to TV box and to router. I have a cable internet connection @ 120 maps download and 10 maps upload.
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has helped in this matter. I do understand that this is an older piece of equipment and my knowledge of it is on the low end. I was hoping that being a Linux derivative there was some hope for it, as I don't like waste. There are few markings on it, which doesn't help. As well as my inexpertise about these devices.
So, now, I am looking for a "brand" name tv box (other than chromecast, roku, fire, etc.) that I can look into. Not really interested in used. Android(configurable) preferred. I live in CANADA if that makes a difference. My use for the tv box is mostly news and documentary with a little entertainment thrown in. Netflix, et all, I am not interested in, although I like movies. I have cut the wire so to speak and do not subscribe to any of the big TV/Internet providers.
I do not recognize any names of the Android TV boxes I have seen in any internet searching, so, if someone could provide some names that are good equipment in this line, I could check them out and get on with this.
Thanks.
