Hello people,
I just purchased the asian version of the xiaomi laser projector 4k 1S. Before I had the same model but the european version with 1600 Lumen instead of 2000 that I have got now. On my European Version I had Android 9.0 as OS installed and could stream everything on 4K but since I got the "better" Asian version, it´s only possible to play these apps on my fireTV Stick (wich is also 4K) in 2160 to 60 quality. I tried everything but still don´t get the answer and im thinking about sending this beamer back.
I would really appreciate it, if someone could tell me how to change the resolution or the format to 4K on Netflix and Youtube.
best regards,
Morris

While I've been looking for cheaper android tv boxes for iptv for friends, I can say without a doubt Nvidia Shield is by far the best. I've had mine since 2015, and the newer 2017 model is shrunk down same innards. 3gb ram, Nvidia Tegra processor is the best on it. Netflix full 4K HDR support officially. Official real android TV that receives updates all the time (Currently they are intentionally waiting to release Android Oreo on it as launcher is not good yet and are working with Google on that, but it's pretty solid with Marshmallow official androidtv version). Amazon Prime 4K HDR built in (first android tv to get it officially actually).
HDR support on every app Except Youtube... simply because Youtube uses a different Codec VP9 that requires a specific chip that came out after Shield was released. I'm using PerfectPlayer for IPTV on it now and it's really impressive with customized hardware decoding. Kodi runs great on it too when I tried it. Not sure about Showbox but do keep in mind the Google Play Store on official Android TV is limited to Apps that developers specifically support TV interface on. You can easily use your phone or browser to get the APK and install it on the Shield though if you can't find it in store. They call this sideloading and it works great once you figure out how. I personally use Solid Explorer on both Shield and my phone and find apk in the app on my phone, then copy it over the network to my Shield Network Shared folder (officially supported), then open it on Shield and install it.)
Keep in mind Nvidia shield will work with anything bluetooth and it does support Android TV Remote app so you can control and type from your phone. 2 USB 3.0 ports so you can even connect older xbox 360 controllers if you have pc dongle, etc..
Problem I'm seeing with every other Android TV Box is they're all Android Phone version with an added UI to make it look like Android TV, and I really feel like most of them won't get updated and might freeze if you push it with limited RAM and chinese-made processors. Official Android TV FTW. Honorable mention from research not experience - Xiaomi Mi Box, built in Android TV on non samsung/nonlg tvs... especially on Sony Android TV.
I have a very simple box, but very good for streaming MXQ PRO. Very inexpensive - $35. I got it from AMTRADE TV Boxes
I've just purchased a new box from China that I'm waiting delivery on. I had help from Robert Joseph of ghostware. He's awesome.
This is the info and specs on it. Like I said it has everything I want and even a little more with the extra hard drive space for which I've ordered a 240gig SSD drive from Amazon.
I got the version with 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of hard drive space. And it's pretty much dirt cheap for one of the best hardware setups on the market. Only about 65 US dollars.
These are some more of its specs. The gigabit Ethernet port is just as important as everything else. Especially if you have a fast connection like I do. You don't want to be limited to a hundred megabits.
I followed the advice SdM123, and I must say that Sidiwen A95X MAX TV Box Android 8.1 4GB RAM 64GB ROM Amlogic S905X2 Quad Core Dual WIFI 2.4G / 5G Ethernet is one of the best 0 buffering problems. I am satisfied with the purchase and thank SdM123 for pointing it out.
Cool
Which streaming device has the most internal storage?
Hi guys, what do you think of switchonshop.com ? I think to buy there, but I do not know if it is worth it.
At SwitchOnShop.com. I saw a set top box model MAG425A. Has anyone used such a model?
Hello folks,
I'm going to buy a new smartphone and I need one that is capable to play x265 videos smoothly and VR videos as well. I'm not into gaming and the VR are just for videos. I don't intend to spend much money as well.
Looking for some models that match my criteria’s and budget I narrowed down the list to Xiaomi Redmi 6 OR Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. The first one is cheaper and my preference.
I was ready to buy the Redmi 6 but then I noticed that on the official website on the Redmi 6 specs it doesn’t quote x265 or HEVC or anything like that and it doesn’t quote the gyroscope as well.
It’s awkward for me because the chipset Helio P22 used to assemble the Redmi 6 has support for x265 decoding according to the official Mediatek website.
Is it possible for a smartphone assembled with Helio P22 doesn’t play x265 videos even it being native on the chipset?
Accordingly to some websites, a gyroscope is essential to have a good VR experience, but that wouldn’t be just for games like “Pokemon Go”? Would Redmi 6 play VR videos great or the lack of gyroscope turn that impossible (or produce a poor VR experience)?
I would appreciate a lot if some could lend me a hand, especially Redmi 6 owners because I didn’t want to pay more for the MI A2 Lite. I’m just willing to pay more if the Redmi 6 is not good enough.
I also accept suggestions of other models and brands that fit my budget.
OBS: Play x265 is ESSENTIAL for me. I’m not going to buy a device that can’t play x265. The VR is a nice feature that I would like to have, but not as essential as the x265.
Please I need an advice since I plan to buy android tv box, i have two choices ( Xiaomi and A95x max ) I am confused whichever is better , please can you advise me what I should buy or if there a better product have same price range
Thanks for your help
with xiaomi you can watch 4k on netflix but with a95x max only 480P
Hi everybody,
I'm torn between this two options. I want the p11 plus because of its better 750g sd (vs 662 sd), but there are some disadventages as well. Both from aliexpress. The seller there told me that the p11 6gb comes with the official global firmware. The seconed option is p11 plus (from two sellers). One seller sells it with regular "global version". In the seconed one, one or two of the buyers wrote that it is not global, but translated. Bo tablets are Chinese of course. Both plus tablets comes with Zui. I'm from europe. My usages are mainly reading, movies and i have a habbit of opening many tabs in chrome. On a smaller note, im a bit concerned of the possible bluish tint and pwm. Thank you
P11 (plus) can set color temperature with 3 settings or use the palette to tune to your flavor.
US version P11+ has MTK G90T which is comparable with 730.
I have Yoga Tab 11 (similar hardware with P11+) and I am satisfied with it, but I hate P11 due to sluggish TV performance

What do you mean by sluggish tv performance? I can only choose between p11/p11 plus from aliexpress because of the total price. So i have to decide between p11 with official global lenovo firmware (without google certification probably) vs the p11 plus that is worse and has only a global firmware. I guess not all settings are inplace and somethings arent translated right. I dont know if the difference in processing power worth it.
I saw that its possible to set temperature to warm in the p11. Im wrong?

Play Sling TV and/or Philo on app and see it yourself.
It was completely unwatchable with Q, and R is better a bit, but it's not smooth enough.
On the other hand, Yoga Tab 11 has no problem playing Sling TV and Philo

Thanks. I don't know those apps. Videos on media player, streaming via chrome or youtube in fhd is working well?
And what is Q/R?

Q = Android 10
R = Android 11
I recently bought an Android tablet on Aliexpress (caveat emptor), with quite high specs (screen res, Android 11, 12GB + 256 GB etc). It was extremely sluggish and I couldn't get many of my favourite apps to work on it. So I checked with a Fake Device Test app. It turns out that the screen resolution is much lower (1280 x 800), the memory is much lower, etc. The android is reported as 5.1 The processor is ARMv7,
SOC is MT6592
I have managed to get an old version of Netflix to work, and an ebook reader, so it is not completely a doorstop.
My question is, how can I upgrade. Maybe to Lineage, or some other ROM.
Has anyone ever come across this or similar devices? Any other ideas?
Thanks.
