Question P11 (official fw) VS p11 plus (probably translated) - Lenovo P11

Hi everybody,
I'm torn between this two options. I want the p11 plus because of its better 750g sd (vs 662 sd), but there are some disadventages as well. Both from aliexpress. The seller there told me that the p11 6gb comes with the official global firmware. The seconed option is p11 plus (from two sellers). One seller sells it with regular "global version". In the seconed one, one or two of the buyers wrote that it is not global, but translated. Bo tablets are Chinese of course. Both plus tablets comes with Zui. I'm from europe. My usages are mainly reading, movies and i have a habbit of opening many tabs in chrome. On a smaller note, im a bit concerned of the possible bluish tint and pwm. Thank you

P11 (plus) can set color temperature with 3 settings or use the palette to tune to your flavor.
US version P11+ has MTK G90T which is comparable with 730.
I have Yoga Tab 11 (similar hardware with P11+) and I am satisfied with it, but I hate P11 due to sluggish TV performance

What do you mean by sluggish tv performance? I can only choose between p11/p11 plus from aliexpress because of the total price. So i have to decide between p11 with official global lenovo firmware (without google certification probably) vs the p11 plus that is worse and has only a global firmware. I guess not all settings are inplace and somethings arent translated right. I dont know if the difference in processing power worth it.
I saw that its possible to set temperature to warm in the p11. Im wrong?

Play Sling TV and/or Philo on app and see it yourself.
It was completely unwatchable with Q, and R is better a bit, but it's not smooth enough.
On the other hand, Yoga Tab 11 has no problem playing Sling TV and Philo

Thanks. I don't know those apps. Videos on media player, streaming via chrome or youtube in fhd is working well?
And what is Q/R?

I want a tablet

HI all, how's everyone? not been back for some time,
I need some help from you guys if possible.
I want a tablet, my partner has an ipad mini, I like it, long battery life, clear and cool to the touch, (ie don't get too warm on long usage)
Can anyone recommend me something?
I have made my own (very brief short list)
Lenovo Yoga
Xiaomi Mipad,
Pipo P8
Fire 7.7
My criteria is this,
7.9-8.9 inch screen
4:3 format.
stable Os,
ideally full android, so not sure if the fire can be rooted.
quad core, and can hold its own when running any intense apps.
won't get too hot when on long usage.
long battery life,
if possible 2Gb ram,
if no MMC expansion then need at least 32Gb
no more than £200, and as per my list, will look into oversea models
I do like the nexus 9, but out of my budget any other suggestions.

Mipad best bang for buck, infact, the price and the specs you get are bloody brilliant! Really really great value, I don't know how Xiaomi get away with it
Its about £230 (some places £180 but + import tax could be more, I say use EBay because you have buyer protection etc) I'm looking into buying the Mipad myself, (I currently have an LG G Pad, heavily mod'd)
The only downside (which is to be expected) is the OS on the Mipad MIUI (on Xiaomi phones Mi2 Mi3 Mi4 its great, but on thus Mipad its half finished, buggy etc.)
But hey I enjoy a challenge

Lenovo Yoga 8 is very good. Quad-Core, Android 4.2 Operating System, Battery Life – Up to 18 Hours, but if you want to play games with a higher experience, I would recommend you another game tablet (JXD S7800B), 7.0 inches, quad core.

I actually would recommend you the iPad Mini 3, because it's almost matching all your requirements except that it is iOS.
Apple will really ensure that you're requirements will be finished.!

Did you choose your tablet ?
I am interested because I also want an 8" tablet to use mainly as an ebook reader ...
Noticed that dealsprime has a "youtube promo" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfZ28bH8bXE : free pouch) on the pipo p8 and that there is apparently good rom support for it on http://www.freaktab.com/forumdisplay.php?166-Current-Pipo-ROMs ...

For an EBook type of device I would suggest the Tesco Hudl 2
I know what your thinking.... No way dude!!
But I was surprised at how good this piece of kit is for like £120.
Quad core, Intel, full HD, the casing around the tablet isn't pretty but its great specs for the price.

Not all quad core is good.this machine uses MTK8382 which is a very slow quad core machine.
And It's pretty Energy Hungry,It only could go on up to 10-12Hr.
Also RK3188?No please.A Allwinner A31 could win the RK3188...
2,I would not like to suggest the lenovo one is the warranty service. If your machine have something and you take it to the service centre, the day it fixed you will get "another machine".
^What i mean,A more worse machine.
Asus HD8 is a good choice for you:

Tablet £200 Budget

My gf is treating me to a tablet, the budget is £200. I want a tablet what has decent multitask, no lag, updates to new android versions, decent display (PPI & colours), and decent sound.
Not bothered about camera.
Any ideas? Was thinking about Samsung tab E or tab A.
Also was looking at Asus zenpad, (z380m model I think) but apparently the colours are washed out. And lenovo yoga 3 (but I heard it lags).
Any ideas as I'm buying tomorrow?

Huawei MediaPad M6 - Worthy of an upgrade?

Who is thinking of upgrading to the MediaPad M6?
https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_unveils_mediapad_m6_in_84_and_108_varieties-news-37711.php
The Kirin 980 and bigger battery are nice but the camera seems the same and the fingerprint sensor has been removed?!
Also still no dual SIM LTE version and the 8.4 is only available in Champagne Gold.

Given the software upgrade support for the M5, I don't think I'll be upgrading... terrible to still be sat on 8.0 when 9.1 is available for their flagship phones. Why aren't they offering the same support for their tabs?

Depends on your region ... most people outside the US already have 9.0 on their devices. At least in Germany we have 9.0.1 with security patch of June.

While the M5 that I have is a fantastic device that I really like, I definitely will not be buying another MediaPad because of the lack of upgrades on the US marketed version.
I am happy with my M5 Pro (10.8), so I will not upgrade that, but I am thinking of replacing my Mate 10 with a M6 8.4 now that the CPU is on high end smartphone level. Only downside is that I cant have a big cover or it will not fit in my pocket any more.
P.S: I already have Android 9 on my Mate 10 and M5 Pro, so I have no reason to complain. Also I dont know a single important feature why I would need Android 9 and so far I have not seen any important features in Android 10 either. The important step was Android 8 to be able to set app permissions.
I have the M5 8.4 NA version and I have the M6 8.4 on order directly from China so obviously the Chinese version. Not enthused about the "gold' with white bezel but it isn't a deal breaker. Fingerprint reader is kinda a bummer but once again isn't huge. Honestly the Kirin 980 makes up for all of it. Scoring nearly double the 960 in Antutu is no joke and there are no other options for other high power tablets besides the Tab S4 and soon to be released Tab S5 and those will be like $600-$700. The 980 is somewhat comparable to the 855, a little behind but it obliterates every other CPU out there (besides the Exynos that will never make it to NA probably).
So yeah not too stoked about gold/white or no FP reader but there are no other options,z especially at this price point. For some reason Samsung and everyone else want a TON for a high end CPU in a tablet. $300US is very reasonable. I guess the one pro is symmetrical bezels, the large bottom bezel on the m5 8.4 triggers my OCD when in landscape.

Where do you buy the M6 for $300? The cheapest on AliExpress is closer to $340 and the LTE 128GB version (the one I would have wanted) is $470.
But since it is not dual sim I have decided to get a Mate X, at least if the early reviews are not as disastrous as they were for the Galaxy Fold.
I made a quick wooden mockup yesterday and it is smaller than the Mate 20X when folded (so easier to hold) and unfolded the screen area is comparable to the M6. It is a lot of money but it's a hobby and hobbies cost money.

Is anyone concerned about the absence of international ROM on M6? I gather that Google apps like Play store are no go on the new comer. Seems not much success in installing the Google framework in it from Chinese user forums.

Hey @awtchan, does this effectively mean that all the google-related apps wont install, even if you pull the apks from other sources like apkpure? The MediapadM6 is basically the only decently powerful tablet these days that's priced well. And it has a headphone jack and outstanding speakers from what I've read.
There is no way I'd buy a Samsung S5e or S6 tablet.

From what I understood, users on Mainland China are struggling to try get Google Store up and running but all efforts have failed so far. The usual outcome is forced crashing Google Play. One can still install certain Google apps through alternative sources but they are limited. For example, they still can't use Facebook, Maps and Whatsapp.
The advice from users is to wait for international version to come out but no one knows when. However, I've made an enquiry with a seller on Aliexpress and I was told 'it's OK to use Google Store on it' (in Chinese). I'd give much grain of salt to that.
In short, it's a bit risky to buy now.
My wife needs a replacement for her Samsung tablet and I was heading toward getting another Huawei product. But not now. What other options are there besides another Samsung which she does not want.

Sit and wait, thats what I'm doing. If you can't wait... then your choices are pretty limited for Android tablets. The M5 is decent, but old. Same for the Mi Pad 4.
Same here. Waiting for the Play Store to be added, then will buy it.
I would but Android is farrrr too restrictive for me I got my M5 as a replacement for a Windows laptop, it's a much nicer piece of hardware but the software let's it down so much.. maybe one day we will get Windows 10 on ARM..
Silly things spoil it for me, like the touchpad scrolling not being smooth, the complete lack of palm rejection there, how it's impossible to turn off the shift space shortcut.. Also usb 2.0 is ridiculous, I use my action camera and wanted this to watch the videos off, usb2.0 is far too slow (plus with windows I could transcode to hevc using hardware acceleration, no reason why this tablet can't do it just no software to do it)

General P11+ is actually a good machine

People may have doubt on MTK processor
However, I found it works well on both P11+ and Yoga Tab 11 (similar hardware)
Disclaimer: I have Yoga Tab 11 and I am happy with my choice.
I have P11 and I hate it (horrible video performance) while P11+ is much better

Good to know. If you're only using the tablet for media who needs more?
The only thing I use that stresses my SD870 is SVP player but tbh I could live without using it.
Does it still have the aluminium body and dolby vision?

Question xiaoxin pad pro 2021 or huawer matepad 11?

hi, ive been trying to decide bettewen the lenovo xiaoxin pad pro 2021(380$ china) and the huawei matepad 11(400$ local), not taking into account the xiaomi pad 5, since the normal version is like 450$ here and the pro version in china is also more expensive than the xiaoxin. i was very sure to buy the xiaoxin pro due to its oled panel and its little higher SOC but then i heard that its oled screen is low quality with pentile screen and bad dirty screen effect on dark grey, so i want to know if xiaoxin still is worth it or since it is screen isnt that great an ips screen like the matepad would be the same or better? any advice pls?

The Pad Pro 2021 is cheap for a reason. You're right about its terrible panel with black crush, noise, bad uniformity... I would rule it out immediately because display quality is arguably the most important factor on a tablet. Ive heard people who have used both the Mi Pad 5 and Pad Pro 2021 say that the Mi Pad looks miles better despite being IPS.
mmm indeed ive watched videos in which the mi pad 5 looks amazing, like in the perfect point, not too saturated but not too cool either, while the lenovo seems kind of ariticial or not natural sometimes but those perfect blacks are tempting... anyway, i think ill wait for aliexpres aniversary and buy the cheapest one
