Moto G Stylus 5G offers pen support and fast connectivity on a budget
Motorola has introduced its Moto G Stylus 5G. It costs $100 more than the 4G model but has better specs and, of course, 5G connectivity.
www.xda-developers.com
Just picked one up tonight. Fingers crossed on devs coming over. Cheers
Just got one over a week ago, so far I have root w/ lsposed, This "Moto G Stylus 5G" section is technically the thread for this device, but I see most of the 5G users using the "Moto G Stylus 2021" section or "Moto G Stylus 2020 (Moto G Pro)" section, so make sure to look at those sections for community tools and roms that may support this device.
Bought a 5G Stylus a couple weeks ago it's nice finally having a moto phone that doesn't destroy fine details due to heavy noise filtering on the main rear camera, the ultra wide cam isn't so great quality wise but it can take some interesting shots at least.
I'd still like to see what a Gcam port would be like, it did wonders for my previous G7 Power's camera abilities.
You can get the Cam2 API enabler magisk module and get Open Camera, it works better than any gcam version I could find, pretty good zoom control.
EDIT: Make sure to enable Cam2 API in Open Camera's settings
Definitely a device worth working on. I will for sure help out where I can.
Please help. I am currently attempting to root my device. And flash stock rom I am using an adb software bugjaeger. I'm newewwww don't know what to doooooo

If the "moto stylus G...XT2131-1" is this forum's Moto G Stylus 5G (2021), then the phone doesn't yet support 5G either; ATT calls their 5GExtended 5G, it is not. they appear to be moving toward true 5g this year sometime, but their "5G" is 4G+tweaking. T-Mobile network does support true 5G
from motorola page, Moto G Stylus 5G (2021):
Device not compatible with all networks; compatible with T-Mobile® 4G and 5G, Verizon® 4G and 5G, and AT&T® 4G networks.
I cannot find a TWRP that specifies it can work with this device, the Moto G Stylus 5G (2021).
is there a safe version, or are the 5G owners waiting? I hadn't seen any TWRP that listed any Moto stylus models of past few years either.
Related: I'm getting ready to move my apps/settings/data from my current G7 Power, to this new Stylus 5G. While I am able to backup all except system via ADB to my computer, I had read the bridge is not as stable or reliable as it had been, especially on restore.
Is there a comparable tool that can be used like ADB, without unlocking bootloader or rooting?
Thus I started looking at TWRP and how to go about rooting (either of my Motos, G7 or Stylus 5G). Peeling through the onion, I have seen several notes that unlocking the phone bootloader will wipe all the data. Is this true? If so, it changes the process a bit.
Having the bootloader unlocked appears to be requirement of rooting, if not please correct me. I want to root the phone so that full backups w/app data, and other maintenance are available.

Hi - I just got this phone, and I like it. Its stock for now, been a minute since I rooted and rommed a phone.
But -
How do i format the SD card as internal storage??
Also, how do I swap the back/recent buttons? They're backwards from how I've been using them for a decade or more and it's pissing me off that I open my recent apps every time I mean to go backward...
Thanks in advance for the reply!

Finally got my tablet back after two months of back and fourth from China (long story).
I just wanted to put a bit of an update. The tablet came back with the default firmware and recvied 5 OTA's of differing sizes. The software is now in a place where if English is your native language I'd comfortable recommend this tablet. Every thing seems to work nicely now. Netflix supports Dolby Vision, the security center is working and if you add a third party launcher and deactivate the Chinese apps you'd barely know it wasn't made for your region. It took 3 months from Launch but Lenovo got there in the end.
Having used the tablet for about 4/5 hours straight I can comfortably confirm the Screen is far far better than the P11 Pro. You'll notice on the P11 Pro that pixle arrangement gives a grainy look on some colours most notably red. This does not occur on the P12 Pro. It was worth the wait.
Update. However the below info is still relevant regarding flashing Global ROM's to the CN Tablet.
I have a seperate thread here covering other annoyances. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/no-opencl-or-dts-on-p12-but-present-on-p11-2021.4366861/
Due to these issues I decided to flash to the ROW (international) P12 Pro ROM using the instructions at on this video (using the correct ROM for my device obviously)
THIS PROCESS DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT ATTEMPT THE ABOVE YOU WILL BE STUCK IN THE BOOT LOADER.
I will update this thread if the situation improves!
If anyone can help me locate the chinese stock ROM for this tablet I would greatly appreciate it and will buy you a couple of beers via Paypal.
Moving some of the comments from my thread to this one.
According to the Chinese forums, the protections (against region switch and rollback) were implemented since ZUI 12.6. This was before the release of this device and applies to P11 series as well.
I suppose the bootloader you flashed can detect whether your device is of the right region or not, and will not proceed any further. If that's the case... I think you'll have to wait until someone actually dumped an entire PRC FW (including the bootloader parts), so you can (probably) at least revert the device back to a working state.
Anyone who hasn't OTA upgraded the P12 (XiaoXin Pad Pro 12.6) may try using logcat (or use tools like Fiddler) to obtain some hints about possible whereabouts of full OTA packages for this device. It may be possible to convert a full OTA package to a way usable by QFIL to restore the device. I once tried this to look for hints, but no avail... maybe the OTA servers have changed since then.

Thanks for the update. Yes it's pretty grim. At this point I think I have to send it back to China for Repair or claim on gadget insurance!
Updated first post to reflect the most recent software updates. TLDR go for the Chinese ROM if English is your native language and you want trouble free OTA's.
The data for the Chinese version of the firmware has been uploaded to a Japanese blog.
However, this data does not contain contents.xml and is incomplete.
Can't install it with QFIL as it is.

It can be usable for flashing via fastboot.
Ulefone Armor x8 pro / Ulefone Armor 8 pro
I hope i'm placing this thread in the right place. I purchased this phone for the decent specs and pricing. However i noticed the firmware on the phone does not really do the phone or its camera justice. I have looked to the edge of the internet and back, yet i can't seem to find proper rooting instructions for this model. I have managed to unlock the bootloader and its current state is unlocked via fastboot and developer options, but the phone does not seem to have a "recovery.img" so none of the guides for the "armor 8" work for the pro version.
during the root process, i read multiple times that maybe a fresh install of the firmware would help. After i bricked it a few times and got numerous boot loops from trying to burn the recovery to boot.img i managed to unbrick the device by using the GQ3090RH5_KSXP60_Ulefone_20210901_V01(Non-EU) from the ulephone website for "Ulefone Armor 8 Pro" 8gb/128 model. I've also tried the other methods as well rather than just the twrp method with magisk, vbmeta, no verify, etc. I also tried ripping apart the fireware img to explore and see if i could actually see a recovery image to no avail.
Anyway, any help getting this device rooted so i can enjoy some custom roms and get rid of this stock would be greatly appreciated.
once again, i hope i posted this in the right place as i did not see a "ulefone" manufacturer category.
I have a Xiaoxin pad plus TB-J607F with global rom.
Is it going to receive updates normally or is it forever stuck with no updates?
I'm trying to understand if it's in my best interest keep the device or return it for a refund
Thank you!

Unfortunately, QFIL should not be available on devices with MediaTek.
(Needless to say, QFIL stands for "Qualcomm" Flash Image Loader.)
Therefore, a new method, different from the existing Lenovo tab method, would be needed?
How to suck out the relevant part of the region code in MediaTek, rewrite it and burn it back.

Unfortunately this operation had to fail, you somehow flashed FW for Qualcomm SD870 SOC over MediaTek 1300T SOC - ouch ... (oh, I see what you did ... hmm … Well it said clearly in RSA that tablets sold in Chinese mainland are not supported) best luck for you, if you find solution how to fix it please share it here ... will be definitely useful for the others... thanks in advance ... I have 1300T (Chinese version - yep ... so I will not try this) version for cca 2 days, but without root or some FW leakage from Lenovo side, well have to wait.
Please tell me. Which tablet is better to take, pure Chinese or reflashed by a Chinese as if for a global FW (maybe it's just a modification, not a real global FW)?

I got my from giztop.com original Chinese with added Google Play store by the seller. Whatever they did break the FW somehow (but OTA update was working) and I had to do Factory reset... After factory reset I found out that Play store got deleted in the process... fortunately I was able to reinstall store manually...
Which one to take will be always at the end your choice, just consider fact that all MediaTek (ROW or China) versions have currently broken HDR playback, Qualcomm devices should be fine...

Do not burn Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 roms on Xiaoxin Pad PRO 2022 1300Tver. It will not boot. Currently, there is no public information on how to globalize it, and although AliExpress vendors seem to have successfully globalized it, I don't trust them until I get information from the buyer.
On a different note, has anyone with a Xiaoxin Pad PRO 2022 1300Tver been able to back up their ROMs using the mediatek tool?
If so, can anyone upload the backup file?
My unbootable Xiaoxin Pad PRO 2022 1300Tver is currently unable to do anything. I am stuck because Lenovo China has not released any update method or files at all.
