Hi everybody,
I've bought a Pixel 3 and I use it for record my sport activities with OpenTracks that computes elevation gain and loss using barometer sensor but I have too much gain/loss.
Checking the barometer values out using Trail Sense I've found out that Pixel 3 barometer sensor value change a lot when I shake the Pixel 3. This doesn't happen when I do that with a Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 3a.
Do you experiment the same issue or my Pixel 3 barometer sensor is broken or has a misfunction?

I have a Nexus 4 and saw where it has Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Barometer sensor's and
the Moto G 2015 only has the Accelerometer sensor.
I do a lot of walking and use various apps to track my walks like the Fit and Mapymywalk Apps
Would missing the Gyroscope, and Compass sensors effect tracking abilities
Thanks
It has a compass and gps works great for me

I'm sure an accelerometer would work fine for a replacement for a pedometer.

Navigation works fine, so if you GPS tracking there won't be a problem.
There's no step counter on the phone though.

I've tested it with a Garmin Vivofit and a Fitbit Charge and they both work fine. I've also used the My Tracks app and it works very well also.
Thanks, maybe Santa will bring me one
I use GPS. Very good.
I just installed Galaxy Sensors from the Google Play Store. Humidity shows up and the reading and is within 2% of my digital in home humidistat. I thought the Note 5 didn't have a humidity sensor. Looks like it does to me. So did I read incorrectly and can anyone else corroborate that the note 5 does indeed have this sensor present?
Anyone managed to get the SideSqueeze app working on the OnePlus 6?
I don't think it's gonna happen because it lacks hardware components on the sides of the phone, how do you want the phone to detect squezes if it doesn't have sensors??
OnePlus 6 does not physically have flex sensors mounted to its sides to support this function!
OnePlus 6 does not have a barometer sensor which sidesqueeze uses to measure the pressure difference after a squeeze so, unfortunately, it would not work
Hi Colleaues,
As you surely know, Pixel 2 XL has some problems with display. My question is regarding the issue with the difference of showing colours in Pixel and other smartphones.
The problem is best described in Marques Brownlee review of Pixel 2 - when you open it from 9:30 minute approximately to 12:30 minutes.
So the main question: The problem with RGB colour : Is it problem ONLY for Pixel 2 XL or also for smaller Pixel 2 ?
I know that Google released the security patch (somewhere in Nov last year) with the vivid option , but that probably is not the best solution.
Thank you very much for the answer in advance.
I noticed that since the leaks. First I thought that will be the laser focus module for LDAF, but since I got Pixel 3 on my hand, I found that was too small to be a laser focus module than any other phone has.
Besides, I tried use another camera and pointed at the back of Pixel 3 when its camera open, there's no flash coming out of that dot like my Pixel 1 did.
So what is that dot exactly? It seems like a illumination sensor but I've got no idea why we need a illumination sensor on that position. Also I can't find any explanation on Google store website.

Did u call support?

It's a Spectral + Flicker Sensor.
Pixel 3 phones don't have the laser autofocus anymore.

On a similar note, did anyone else notice that the black model of the Pixel 2 has it's sensors hidden behind tinted glass, but the Pixel 3's are on full display behind clear glass? I wonder why they changed this. I liked the clean look of the tinted glass over the sensors.

Which sensors do you mean?
Front-facing sensors like proximity and light sensor? Or the rear sensor?
If it's for the rear, that's because Pixel 2 had IR autofocus sensors, which are themselves deep black and therefore easier to hide. The flicker sensor of Pixel 3 is not black so it will always stand out.
