Can I correct my IMEI with Device ID Changer? - General Questions and Answers

My phone has stopped logging to mobile network recently and I have found out it has incorrect IMEI number: 350000000000006.
I would like to change it to the correct number that is printed on the phone cover.
I have rooted the phone, installed Xposed and Device ID Changer Pro. The app says the number has been modified and displays correct one, but when I use *#06# it still displays incorrect IMEI as above. Also logging to mobile networks is still not active.
The phone is Galaxy S6, Android 7.0. It has been purchased some 2 years ago as used phone. I suppose I should contact the seller but I don't think I can reach him any more.
Does anybody know why there is mismatch between what Device ID Changer shows compared to *#06#?

Take note that Android's Device ID ( to be correct: ANDROID_ID ) isn't same as IMEI: 2 totally different things.
FYI:
Android_ID is a 64-bit quantity that is generated and stored when the device first boots. ANDROID_ID is not unique for an Android device, it even can be NULL.
The IMEI number is your Android device's own identification number - what contains origin, model, and serial number. There isn't one device that has the same IMEI number as another device

I understand that. Device ID changer gives an option to update both, and a few more.
One more question: should I be able to request Samsung to revert the IMEI to the original one?

No.
You can't fix IMEI using the app.
You can just spoof ID using the app.

IMEI Changed after upgrade

I've upgraded the software to wm6. As it is mentioned before it changes imei. Not a big problem normally.
BUT
Im living in Turkey and here, to use a phone you bought from another country, you have to register the imei of the phone. Upgade process added 2 digits (25) at the end of the imei. And since imei is a standard code they wont accept this code for the registration process. Since i dont have a serial cable i cannot use xda imei changer. is there a way to revert this back? maybe by using another rom or phone-based application?
Thanks in advance

No panic. The IMEI didn't change.
What you see is IMEISV, an extended IMEI with software version number. It has 17 decimal digits(14 digits plus 1 check digit plus 2 SVN digit). 14 most significant digits of the IMEISV without the SVN is the originial IMEI. The last 2 digit identifying the revision of the software installed on the phone.
For example, the IMEISV code 35703600-CCCCC-D-EE
35703600 identifies that it is HTC prophet model
CCCCC is the serial sequence of the model, uniquely identifying a unit of this model
D the Luhn check digit of the previous 14 digit IMEI
EE the 'software version number'
The SVN allows the manufacturer to identify different software versions of a given type approved mobile. The SVN is a separate field from the IMEI, although it is associated with the IMEI, and when the network requests the IMEI from the mobile, the SVN (if present) is also sent towards the network.

[Q] Serial Number?

I know that it ICS is being released and it has not been pushed out to all, but I noticed that the serial number under About Tablet -> Status is not the same as the s/n for the sticker. Do I need to worry about not getting ICS because of a serial mismatch like the Prime users?
No. Your serial number is not in your 'about tablet' section, that is your firmware version, different thing entirely.
I know that it is the firmware when you go to the about tablet, but from there I click on Status and it lists the Battery status, Battery Level, IP, MAC Address, Bluetooth , Serial Number and Uptime. So this serial number doesn't match the sticker on my tablet?
That is the device's unique ID number, that isn't the same thing as the serial number (B70KAS9082734 etc, whereas the number in the status is hexidecimal, not manufacturing date codes). That is the device ID number that you would get in an ADB shell or something, to identify multiple devices from one another..disregard.
Thanks. I guess will will patiently wait

nexus 5 ,recognize sim recognize carrier but no service

its begun all of a sudden
i have try to replace sim . i have checked anntena connections inside the phone.
also i have flushed older version of stock android.
nothing helps
anybody have any idea?
Is it possible the phone has been blacklisted?
it was purchaced in usa and i do not live in usa
I understand but if the carrier subscribes to the blacklist database, that may be a possible explanation.
i do not know how to check if its blacklisted
Open the dialler, type *#06# and enter the imei here: https://swappa.com/esn

[HELP] IMEI is Unknown

Hi,
I messed up. I used an IMEI changer to change my IMEI thinking it would just mask the number, it was advertised as so. I deleted the IMEI changer and now my IMEI shows as unknown in the settings and as blank when dialing *#06#
I still know my original IMEI and as of right now I can still send SMS and call people. I'm probably most likely fubar since I didn't make a back up of EFS, is there anything I can do though?
IMEI changer: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-imei-changer-t2847187
Please ignore this thread. All I had to do was restart my phone after deleting IMEI changer, maybe twice or so.
How do I close my thread?
Mind me asking how you changed IMEI? I'm having issues with it...

I installed the app → activated it on Xposed and rebooted → went on the app and typed in a different number → pressed apply then I rebooted and it was changed.
Might I add that it never changed the actual IMEI, I think it just masked the real IMEI and showed the system a different one.

Why my S8+ G955F does not show the SN (Serial Number)?

When I try to find the SN of my Galaxy s8 + (G955F) I can not find it by dialing * # 06 # or in the settings, the device information shows something that is not the SN. Can someone who knows the subject help me?
It's right there the circled numbers. That's your serial number.

If the serial number is not the same as on the box that it came with the device, then it's not.

According to Z3X Tool the circled numbers of the image is the Unique Number, not serial number, I do not know why it shows it instead of the serial, also on the back of my cell phone it shows another one that is the same as the box mobile phone.
i have S8+ G955FD Dual Sim & my phone show both IMEI & SN number i don't know why your phone not showing SN number in box maybe samsung change it not to show in IMEI box for your model or maybe there is a bug case this
