Hello.
Is there a way to do copy of memory of entire device (settings of partition, datas on this partition...) I have two the same devices and I want to do exacly clone one to another.
I'm talking about lenovo tablets with MTK.
BR
My solution suggestion:
Both phone's Android must be rooted so all partitions can get accessed in R/W mode. A Windows computer with ADB installed on, an USB-hub with at least 2 ports is required.
You connect both phones at same time with Windows computer, you establish an ADB connection with both phones.
Then via a Windows command script you pull out complete contents of source phone and push back contents to target phone.

Hello everyone,
I have a strange behavior with my OPO connected to Windows 7. Notice that I'm a computer engineer (so I have some skills (not verry advanced but good notions) and I'm pretty sure that the answer is not obvious)
I think it's strange because all the tuto available show a different behavior of mine.
My goal was to install OPO ADB driver on my Windows 7 in order to use ADB and root it.
I'm using OnePlus One toolkit 2.0 (by @manudroid19) and Bacon Root Toolkit 1.0.2 (by WugFresh)
Both explain that it's important to have MTP driver installed in order to access to OPO internal storage. Then we have to:
1/ go to Device Manager
2/ right click on the OPO which is under the Other device category
3/ select update driver software
4/ select Browse my computer for driver software
5/ select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
6/ In the list, select Android device
7/ Then select Google Inc and Android ADB Interface
etc...
My problem is at step 2. When I have MTP enabled, my OPO is not under the Other Device category but under a Mobile Device one.
SO, at step 6, I don't have Android device in my list. This list is restricted to 4 items relative to Mobile Device. So I cannot install ADB driver.
The workaround that I have choiced is to disable MTP. Then the OPO immediately switch under Other Device category on Device Manager. So ADB install is possible
BUT
When I enable MTP again, OPO switch to Mobile Device category and ADB is not available anymore.
My first reaction was to say: "not to bad, I will disable MTP when I need ADB operation and I wil enable MTP when I need to write on OPO internal storage"
BUT
Now I want to restore my TitaniumBackup save but I cannot see the Titanium Backup directory in the internal storage (where I supposed to put the backup files)
- YES I'm sure that TitaniumBackup directory exists on my internal storage, I have installed it and I can see it from the OPO browser
- NO it's not easy to put backup files on visible internal storage and try to move it to TitaniumBackup from the OPO
So, I presume that the best solution should be to find a way to install ADB driver when MTP mode is enabled. So that means, find a way to have the OPO under the Other device category when MTP is enabled (and not Mobile Device) in order to have the choice in the entire list at step 6.
If someone could help me...
Thanks a lot
PS: sorry for my language, I'm french
I have a Galaxy Note 5 and I have important data in it. The screen is broken so I can't do anything, but I see recovery listed with a bunch of characters when I do
Code:
adb devices
. I can run some adb commands, adb root tells me I have root, I can do "id" inside of adb shell. Though, whenever I try running any twrp commands inside adb shell, it says "TWRP does not appear to be running. Waiting for TWRP to start."
What can I do here? I also see SAMSUNG Android under devices on this linux distro I'm running but I am getting an mtp error whenever I try connecting to it.
Sorry to hear that. If your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 can be detected by the computer via USB cable connecting, and the USB debugging on it is enabled, try Coolmuster Android Backup Manager. Its free backup function can help transfer data to the computer for backup directly. It's easy and safe. Good luck to you.

It doesn't seem to be working, well at least not when the phone's in recovery. I'm not sure if I can boot it up normally.

Indicates your phone boots into Recovery mode and not into Normal ( ADB ) mode.
To get rid off of booting into Recovery mode you run
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot
Once your phone boots into Normal mode you can pull out the data of interest: take note that adb pull has a size limit, hence probably
Code:
adb pull /sdcard C:\PULLED-DATA
doesn't work as expected if amount of data to pull is >= 2GB in total ( e.g. a stored movie file may have up to 8GB ). That means, to be on safe side, you have to pull the files of interest one-by-one.
A friend of mine has a Stylo 6 that says corrupted when it boots. It is however already set to USB debugging. However, I do not have access where I'm at to a PC or a Chromebook to install the dev tools. Is it possible even with third party paid software to install the dev environment on another Android phone and use it for fastboot etc?
You don't need to add ADB and/or Fastboot to any Android device. In common both ADB and Fastboot ( the latter only unless OEM decided to omit it ) are integral part of every Android release: ADB is housed in Android's user-space, Fastboot typically is part of device's bootloader unless Android has a Dynamic Partition layout, then Fastboot is also housed in Android's user space.
Ok, I guess what I need to know if I can install and use adb server on an Android device. I don't have access to a PC Mac or Chromebook to install the sdk tools. Can this be installed on my phone ( using a Linux or windows emulator maybe) to use to fix his phone?
ADB is nothing more than a tool that allows you to execute commands which would interact with Android shell. So you can install / open in Android a shell app ( e.g. Termux ) and run the commands ( Linux compliant ) therein. Will say you don't need a computer to operate on Android system of device,
hi guys I need help to recover some personal photos I had saved on my device. The phone has a broken screen and touch so I cannot use a mouse or try to blindly unlock it, but it has been rooted and usb debugging is enabled; unfortunately my pc is not authorized by the phone and I have no way to authorize it through the pop up without a screen. I have searched around many forums to find a solution but it seems every time there was something wrong, so I need some help.
The solution that got me the nearest to a conclusion that I tried are:
using adb in custom recovery (which I do have) and trying commands like "adb pull /sdcard" which resulted in "pull: building file list... 0 files pulled. 0 files skipped.", I don't understand why it's unable to pull any file.
trying to authorize usb debugging for my pc through adb by "adb push adb_keys /data/misc/adb", adb_keys is the adbkey.pub file in the .android folder renamed. I can confirm i pushed them since "adb pull /data" pulled "data/adb/misc/adb_keys" as the only file, but I still don't have authorization
I'm not too literate in this kind of commands so please be patient but I really need help
RECAP OF MY PHONE STATUS
Xiaomi Mi 10 5G is the device
both screen and digitizer broken, I'm not able to see the screen or use touch (but I'm 100% sure the phone still works)
Android 12 rom (xiaomi.eu stable)
custom recovery available
rooted device
usb debugging enabled
no device authorized by the phone for usb debug
I found somewhere on xda that the problem could be solved by mounting/unmountind sdcard, but I have no ideea hoe to do that

There is a way to do it, but it costs money
@damndaniel0
If USB-MTP mode is enabled on phone - what should be default - then you can access all user-data stored in /storage/emulated/0 directory where among others photos are stored.

If you mean simply to connect the phone through usb to pc, I cannot do that because MIUI asks everytime if I want to transfer photos, files or just charge with a pop up on screnn (which I obviously cannot do)

Honestly I did not try, but I don't remember the phone directory showing up in windows file explorer after connecting the phone in recovery mode, I'll try againg when I'm home and I'll let you know
anyway I checked and no, I cannot access phone files
In Recovery mode you should can run
Code:
adb devices
adb pull <LOCATION_OF_DATA_OF_INTEREST> <STORAGE_LOCATION_ON_PC>

unfortunately the result of this operation is always "pull: building file list... 0 files pulled. 0 files skipped". I tried already to pull form /sdcard, /storage, /data. Am I getting the location wrong?
Hi guys!
I have the redmi k20 pro premium china rom, but its currently stuck in a bootloop so I cant get past the booting-up screen.
However, I still really want to get my photos from the phone, I don't have any cloud services connected.
I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve the photos since to get out of a bootloop I need to factory reset which will delete the memory.
Im willing to tear apart the phone however I doubt that will do anything?
Thanks in advance!!
If you can boot phone into Recovery mode then it's possible to fetch the photos via ADB.

Do you know if theres a good tutorial i can follow for that, I'm having trouble grasping what exactly adb is?
If USB Debugging ( AKA ADB ) got enabled on your phone - and ONLY IF THIS GOT DONE - here the road map what to do
1. Download and install on PC the Android USB Drivers ( contains ADB ) suitable to your phone and make them systemwide accessible - i.e. add the install location to Windows OS's PATH variable
Download Xiaomi USB Driver For All Xiaomi Devices | Jan 2022
Here you can Download Xiaomi USB Driver of Any Xiaomi Device. We have shared both ADB Driver and Qualcomm Drivers for Mac & Windows 7/8/8.1/10 OS.

2. On PC's drive C: create a folder named "pulled"
3. Boot phone into Recovery mode pressimg the related keys
4. Connect phone with PC via USB-cable that came with phone
5. In PC's command prompt run the commands - one after one -
Code:
adb devices
adb pull /sdcard/DCIM/ C:\pulled
If you don't understand the procedure printed above take phone to authorized service center and let them do the job.
