Question Anyone with a rooted phone and Galaxy Watch 4? - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
I ordered it, I have note 20 utra ( HK Version ) rooted
I had read a while back that if you setup Samsung pay directly from watch, it works?
Can I setup Spay wth a non-rooted phone, have it work on the watch then go back to the rooted phone?
Gpay works on my phone, will it work on the watch
Will any of the health apps work

I don't have the watch4 yet but on watch3, I was able to use it without my rooted phone and no, you can't configure things on a device and change the device, because every time the device is changed, the watch resets...
Root on phone has no effects on the watch, rooted phone will affect the apps installed on it, for example "this application can't run on rooted devices"
As for gpay, as I recall, I believe someone did use gpay instead of Samsung pay
Thanks, so as u say.it will say cannot run app because its rooted but does this apply to the phone or watch too

A rooted phone won't be able to connect by Bluetooth to the watch. But there's a patch to make it work.

I should have been more precise. The issue I'm talking about concerns rooted Samsung phones and @inningsdefeat500 has a Samsung Note20 which is a candidate for the connection issue if rooted ...
Ive had all model Samsung Phones, and ALL have had no issues with pairing on a rooted Samsung phone, S8+, S9+, N10, S21U.
Considering Galaxy Wear doesn't look for root, why would root be the issue?
I'm on a rooted S10 and it paired just fine. I don't use any of the pay features, but all of the health features work. Just be aware that some other people have had issues.

I also had all S models and faced this issue with STOCK rooted firmwares and even with only TRIPPED KNOX unrooted stock ones. Using custom roms doesn't trigger the problem as they already include the gear fix which involves patching some vendor files (manifest.xml).
If the problem doesn't exist, why would there be so many threads describing it and proposing fixes for it ?
PS : The only time I was able to directly use my GW4 and S-Health without problems on my Knox tripped S21 is with the actual A12 beta ...
there is some code pertaining to "WSM" in manifest.xml - this needs removing to get wearables connecting to galaxy wearable app properly - a few modules out there patch this
I am also on stock firmware. I'm not saying that just because I didn't have any issues, that there won't be issues for anyone else. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
Hello,
Yes I have the Galaxy 4 Watch, and a Rooted Note 8.
The Watch pairs without issue on Bluetooth, and works
wonderfully.

Hi ! I wanted ask you if your rooted note 8 use a custom rom ?
I got a Samsung S8 on custom rom based on android 12.
Thank you in advance
S21U, rooted, no issues whatsoever
fwiw, to give people the current state of affairs...
S20+ 5G rooted, stock ROM
Samsung Pay: No, just never going to work on either phone or watch after rooting - this is well known
GPay: Phone & Watch with no issues (magisk, universal safetynet module, shamiko module, deny list, hidden magisk app)
SHealth - only 6.19 works - working on a way to patch later (dont hold your breath)

Note 5 920p unlock and root help with gear vr
So i got the 920p sprint contract note 5 from the US and i live in asia. Works great. I recently bought a samsung gear vr however, and noticed severe lag. A quick google search revealed this was a problem on rooted devices. I checked and sure enough my note 5 was rooted. I asked the guy who i bought the phone from and he said that its rooted to unlock it. So will i brick my phone if i unroot it? Or will i relock my phone and not be able to use my mobile carrier network? Also a solution to the gear vr problem was to flash either a stock kernel or a specific custom kernel. Will this also result in my phone being relocked or bricked due to the root changing or whatever? Thanks for the help guys.
Flash UpInTheAir's SkyHigh kernel. He has one for Lollipop, and one for Marshmallow. Depending on what you have on your device, install the one you need. His kernels work great with the Gear VR. You won't lose root, and if you flash correctly, no brick.

Samsung pay on s3 and rooted s8+ Pie
Hello is anyone figured a way how to make Spay work on S3 Frontier ?
Ahmed1471 said: Hello is anyone figured a way how to make Spay work on S3 Frontier ? Click to expand... Click to collapse if the watch isnt rooted, you can use SPay on the watch itself, no problem. Just long press the top right button and follow the steps. If you get an error, uninstall the wear app, reinstall and try again. There are even reports of SPay working on rooted phones with the help of magisk, but thats not 100% confirmed yet
Pairing issue between Gear S3 and Galaxy S10 after update to CTC9 firmware.
Hello, someone else having problem to connect Gear S3 with S10 (or other?) after last update? I cleaned cache and data in Samsung Wear app, uninstalled and reinstalled app and related plugin, restored Gear S3, but nothing. It can connect to bluetooth... only 1 second and stopped. I tried to connect it on my wife's S8 and works.
Hi. I have a similiar issue with my S9+. Pairing works, but I get no connection to the watch. I tried resetting the watch and reinstalling the gear apps. No issue with my mi band though, so bluetooth on the phone seems to work fine. Gesendet von meinem SM-G965F mit Tapatalk
I have the same issue! I thought I'm the only one. Tried to connect with s8 and it works too
Damn... Samsung is getting worse and worse! Searching a solution!
Weird. CTC9 firmware in my Note 10+ and no problem at all
Found a weird solution - I paired with a friend's galaxy watch active 2, after that I successfully paired with my gear s3
****! I have only my Gear S3.
Neither with new firmware i solved my problem... Gear S3 works on S8 but not on S10 anymore. I made factory reset, i made a wipe cache and data... nothing.
i discovered that root is the problem with last firmware. If i reinstall original AP firmware, i can make pairing with Gear S3... if i install firmware with magisk_patched i can't connect smartwatch. Someone have same problem?
S3 frontier unable to connect to S10 same problem here, Gear S3 frontier no longer connects to rooted GalaxyS10 on latest firmware patched by Magisk.. Does connect to GalaxyS9 on latest firmware patched by Magisk, but this has no Health App... killed by Knox...?
Suspecting Magisk here... ierkens said: same problem here, Gear S3 frontier no longer connects to rooted GalaxyS10 on latest firmware patched by Magisk.. Note 10+ 5G, Magisk rooted prior to CTC9 firmware update and S3 Frontier will no longer connect. I've just factory reset and updated to CDT1 without root and the watch connected. I'm just about to root it and see if it'll connect. If it doesn't, then it's definitely a Magisk issue.
Came across this thread because I have the same issue. Rooted Note 10+ + Gear S3 Frontier. Tried every other solution online, except for flashing stock ROM to make them pair. Damn it... I take it no one found another way?

So ive finally got my note 10+ 5g connected to my active watch 2 after rooting, took me a week to figure it out haha im well out of practice flashing and modding android. So i was rooted using this method for samsung devices https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#patching-images and i could connect every bluetooth device except my watch, after a week of trying to hide watch apps using magisk and magisk modules nothing worked, until i tried flashing compete stock and connecting my watch worked 1st time, so i thought id try patching twrp with magisk and flash that and BOOOOOM! Success!! Rooted, watch connected and twrp intalled, Happy is an understatement. Hope i can help some people out.
Samsung apps not working says device had been rooted but I didn't root
Hi guys I'm new here but have an old s7 edge sm g935f , it was rooted once by the previous owner for pokemon go spoofing which doesn't work anymore so I flashed back to stock, phone isn't rooted anymore but no Samsung apps will work I really use pass and health often but they're saying I am rooted. Is there any fix for this? Sigh.
Your efuse is broken after last root. Can not be fixed with Stock rom. Think Samsung Pas will never work...

Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-930F) displaying "security log agent" notification after root
Is this something that happens when you root a Samsung phone or my device has been compromised by shady software? It is my first time rooting an smartphone and it seems that bank apps won't allow rooted phones. I am thinking about flashing an official rom to fix these issues. By the way, I used this guide to successfully root my device:
