Hello,
Hello,
I am a UK resident. I bought a Note 20 Ultra 5G, as a grey import, from Singapore.
My device is dual-SIM, and I believe the UK version is also dual-SIM(?)
I have tried the 'trick' of typing: *#272*IMEI# into the dialer. I can see an option to select the UK/BTU, but it's single - see attached.
Spoiler: Screen shots

Is there a way I can change the CSC of my device and get a UK firmware build onto it? For use with both SIMs?
I have rooted my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and found where I find infomation in folders of my 2nd sim. When your device is rooted then you can install x-plore manager and go in the root folder to sec efs and map *!SVC has the information of the 2nd sim. Tried to change the scs code of the provider because I can changed it but not save it!
My phone in unlocked on the 1st sim but seems to be locked on the 2nd sim! It also has much more information about your device so it would maybe work when a lot more has to be changed!
And I don't know how or what!
Before you change CSC you need to know something.
What shows on your phone thise numbers? Please share screenshot.
1: OXM
2: ATL
3: ATL/ATL,ATL/EUX/ATL
I can change the first 3 ATL, EUX can't be changed but the last ATL seems to make the phone a branded phone! Because Samsung told me that the ATL after EUX hangs together with the carrier and the phone! So in my language means that it makes it a branded phone!
So are we able to make it a debranded phone?

So, don't you have a solution to change my last csc code to PHE which is now ATL?
PHE/PHE,PHE/EUX/ATL!!!!

Last will remains ATL. You can't change last one. First 3 is important and you changed.

Can I ask you why? Because an other one from XDA was able to remove the last csc code from CCIC on download mode/page.
I add that image as attachment then you can see that he was able to DELETE/REMOVE the last csc code which stands for AID in the CCIC code named as sales code/CID/AID and he was able to DELETE/REMOVE that last csc code!
Last one seems to be important as well! I guess I know what to change and that is map !SVC and SVC in root because there is written ATL in the text but TYPE needs to be changed as well probably to have any effect for the reason I have changed proveder ATL to PHE but didn't change so I think the "TYPE" is important as well to change!

I guess it is possible to change it in root in map efs then map sec efs and then in the map !SVC and SVC there we can change the customercode but then type needs to change possible as well. Now it is with me customerceode "ATL" and type"DST".
Is there someone who has really bought a free/open/no carrier based one and can they look when rooted what it get said in those maps?
When I change "ATL" to "PHE" without changing type then when I login into my Samsung account it says that I have made unauthorized changes and need to contact customer service! So I have changed it back to "ATL" and don't get that notification anymore!

Hey xda
We have an older GT-N8000 that I have royaly screwed up last year and I'd like to repair it.
It's running cm12 I think, problem is it's running the wrong region firmware and doest show the Imei or info anymore.
I also can't use the 3g anymore after i flashed aroma something or other.
I have the imei from on the back but I don't know how to restore all of it. It's rooted with custom recovery and the region code is 05. The wording on the back is in Spanish and I'm almost sure it is South American.
Could someone point me to how I go about restoring this tablet to stock?
IMEI restore your backed up EFS folder .
Stock roms are on the forum and samsung-updates or sammobile.com
IMEI fails just read the thousands of EFS/ IMEI posts see if you can fix or take to a service centre .

Thank you for the reply.
I do not have my efs backed up anymore.. I dont have the shipped rom on it either . Imei is wrong in settings about (i think?), but it is on the back of the tablet. Now no 3g.
3g was working great when i got it, as well as everything else.
Ive been looking for a specific emmc/efs thread within xda but i couldnt find the one i was looking for. I found the thread i am referring to last year or the year before, and i got all the way to where you create and put file inside efs, but it didnt work, i cant recall why.
I would like to first find out which country this came from. I bought it off ebay and the seller stated it was south america or latin america. Ive downloaded 4.0.4/3 firmwares from this from Sammobile, if i recall, the German one could be used?
Could anyone point me to which country this came from?
And point me to a reputable thread for this specific device?

Hello
This is the first time I write here, I bought a phone from someone on the internet a week ago as it is unlocked but it is locked on Verizon network and I am in another country in the Middle East and I spoke with Verizon and Samsung Care in the US they all told me that it is not stolen but requires data to unlock The first buyer, and I don't know her, is there a solution to change the firmware to another country and open it? How do I bypass it as soon as possible? I tried to install a ROM for Europe, which is SM-S908E, but the installation did not work, it says fail sha256 is invalid, and another version was installed through Odin
SM-S908U but nothing changed, is there a solution?

Flash the U1 firmware, hoping the phone was purchased from Verizon more than 60 days ago. You can't install other regions firmware in USA model, only U1 can be installed.

Hello there! Yes and no, you cannot change the model number, but you can change the CSC code to for example one where updates are received faster. I have 2 methods you can try (I have an SM-T290 which is rooted):
Method #1: Root Essentials app1. Power on your phone if it isn't yet.
2. Open Google Play Store and download this app.
3. Install the app.
4. Open the app.
5. Give all permissions that are needed.
6. At the default 'Tools' section, scroll down until you find something like 'CSC code changer'.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to change your CSC code.
Method #2: Phone by Google app (WILL ERASE DATA, atleast they say)THIS METHOD MIGHT NOT WORK.
1. YOUR DATA WILL BE ERASED. So, back up your data.
2. Install Phone by Google (from the Play Store).
3. Open Phone by Google.
4. Dial this code:
*#*#27262826#*#*
5. Choose the CSC of your liking and tap on INSTALL.
6. Wait for your phone to reboot.
7. Enjoy your new CSC and the features that come with it!

That is the firmware for different countries. Every firmware has a specific country code, called CSC. I have for example a firmware from Thailand on my A12, and it's CSC code is THL (from Thailand). This can be changed, and I think it allows you to flash different firmware images (although I am not sure).
I thought of doing it by using odin....i have downloaded indian firmware will try flashing it with odin
Here's a screenshot showing it on Samfw:

There are atleast 2 benefits I know:
1. You can get software updates earlier.
2. You can get some exclusive features, such as the option to record a call (As I can).
Hello,
Recently I bought an S22 ultra from unofficial source. I haven't got any updates from then. I think it's carrier locked. And it is not possible for me to use that carrier in my country. The phone's model number is SM-S908U/DS . In the software information page the whole model number is shown as SM-S908UZKATT. I want to update my device. How should I do it? I heard odin can be used to manually update my phone. But I don't know how to do it. Also I don't know where will I get official firmwares. Please help me ASAP.
Thanks in Advance. Cheers.

You might want to consider sideloading the latest firmware update.
But before that, you must
1. Find your Model name & CSC Code using Phone INFO ★SAM★ 3.8.5 or just go to about phone
2. Download your firmware using Frija
3. Flash the latest firmware using SamFw Tool

Hello edwaine, thank you so much for the help. I downloaded all the things you've mentioned.
I went to the Software information page in the About Phone settings and found out this...

After this I thought my CSC will either be GCF or XAA, then I head over to frija and typed my model number SM-S908U and the CSC code which is GCF and then clicked on check update. It showed
then I thought the CSC might be XAA. So I typed XAA and clicked Check Update. It showed
am I doing it the right way? or do I need to search using my whole model number? (which is SM-S908UZKATT.)
Add "1" on the end of your model name. Your CSC is "XAA"

There are 2 Models for the US: The "U" which is carrier locked & the "U1" which is Carrier Unlocked. Your device as per the CSC belongs to the U1 model.
I mean you already tried it with SM-S908U and not SM-S908U1 and did not get any result.

This is regarding the Snapdragon Note 20 Ultra, USA version.
I got a Note 20 Ultra Verizone edition where I flashed an unlocked U1 firmware. I suppose the required software information can be seen from this screenshot:

The issue now is, as I have put an Indian Operator (Airtel) SIM in the mobile, calling and messaging facilities are working flawlessly, but I cannot turn on mobile data. The WiFi works fine, but no mobile data. The SIM Information looks like this:
Moreover, whenever I try to open the SIM Manager, these four dots keeps loading and the screen just stays there:
I haven't taken a screenshot, but in the next screen the Data Roaming Option cannot be turned on also, I was just looking and turning on/off here and there.....
This is picture of the drop down menu, I suppose it won't be of any help, still posting:
Please let me know if there is any way to solve it....... Also let me know if any other info is required, as I believe I might have missed posting something.....Thanks!
One more thing, I downloaded the firmware from this link:

Before, I flashed this firmware, my software info was like this:
And, now after flashing the U1 it is like this:
I see the VZW (Verizone, right?) is still showing in the Service Provider Software info..... Have I f it up somewhere during the flashing? Should the VZW still be there after flashing the U1 version?

Yes, it is Verizon and it is not supposed to be there. You should see INS for Indian firmware/ SIM.

The problem is they released the Exynos version in India! I suppose I cannot flash Exynos version on Snapdragon, right? Also, the Indian rom had dual sim while this one is i physical SIM+ E-Sim.
Ok, little update.... I flashed the phone again with a VZW Android 13 firmware, and now the mobile data with my Airtel SIM is working flawlessly, even with 5G!!! But guess, as I'm not with a VZW SIM, the set will not receive any update now!
