Force Uninstall System App - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys, this is my first post here but I've got a question before I make any actions... Currently I am using YouTube Vanced but my phone constantly likes to open normal YouTube and its frustrating... I've tried everything to get rid of it but my phone doesn't allow any of it. I'm wondering if I use something like Lucky patcher to force delete it, would that cause any damage to other apps or my phone?
Thanks in advance.
Current phone "OPPO FIND X3 NEO"

To uninstall system-privileged apps it's required that phone's Android is got rooted.

[FIX] Avoid system hang/reboot when deinstalling apps with xprivacy enabled.

Hey guys,
until xprivacy gets fixed, if you deinstall a user app the system will hang and eventually reboot (if you dont do it yourself alrdy).
The workaround I found for this is to convert the app to a system app with titanium backup and then do the deinstallation.
Shouldnt have any downsides, just some extra clicks.

TYVM, I was experiencing this a few weeks ago & couldn't figure it out. I did end up stop using xprivacy but never made the connection. GJ!
What version are you using? I just installed xprivacy on my Note 2 and I noticed random reboots
until I removed it. I'm running xprivacy 1.10. I wonder if I should move it to system app?
Any side effect of moving xprivacy to system app? I did not see any mention of it?
Thank you. I like xprivacy but it keeps rebooting I can't use it.

[Q] Is it possible to remove adware without removing the app

This is probably a stupid question but...
I've been trying for the past 3 days to download this app from the Google play store, but it says it's incompatible with my device (Xperia SP).
I've used Market Helper and it didn't work.
I've tried editing my build.prop and it bricked my phone (lol) I recovered it but lost all my contacts
Anyway, I've resorted to sideloading it. The problem is, since I've installed it I'm getting push ad notifications and popups on my home screen, browser etc.
So, is there anything I can download to stop the adware or somehow remove the adware without uninstalling said app?
Thanks

That makes no sense. What do you mean by removing that without uninstalling ? Your statement is self contradictory.
If you are rooted you can freeze that app using Titanium Backup.
Why don't you try AdAway ?

Hi, I mean I want to keep the app but I also want to stop it from putting ads on my phone and notification bar as well.
I just downloaded AdAway and turned off notifications from that app in the settings so hopefully that will work.
Thanks a lot

You are welcome.AdWare is supposed to block and remove ads and notifications on your phone. If you are still getting ads or the app itself is putting ads and notifications then it's not serving the purpose either it's not working or malfunctioning (broken codes).
Is that an Ad-supported app ?If it is,then that's not an issue.AdAway will block those ads.

[Completed] Malware , 'anti-virus/cleanup' software uninstalls, returns during phone bootup

I have a phone which has been rooted due to a problem I encountered where I had to flash and re-install my Android thl5000 device. I have the ultimate v3 on it. It was fine until I again installed a dodgy application where I had to try to remove it via an anti-malware app. Out of my curiosity one of those applications was the cheetah and Go Security anti-malware app.
I searched the forum and could not find a similar issue.
Now all the anti-malware and anti-virus applications I have installed do not detect any malware on my phone. I have the stubborn trojan removal software which I also have used and still it has not detected anything. I have a web anti-virus security which has not detected any problem with my phone.
My problem is I have 3 applications that as a result of my lack of wisdom keep re-installing themselves upon bootup.
'Android is optimizing 1 of 3 apps'
When my phone loads up I have 3 applications (which can be uninstalled without a problem apparently).
they are
"Go Security"
"Superb Cleaner"
"Ace Cleaner"
I have messaged the developers in their apps and they have not responded, once or twice the Go Dev for 'Go Security ' team got back to me about trying to help me permanently remove it but after several attempts of clearing the cache, the removing from google play and doing the same removal from safe mode and even trying from the root to find similar looking files, there seems to be no way to remove whatever is causing their re-installation.
The only application I have found that identifies the applications as low reputation apps is Sophos.
I will try the hummingbird application that someone suggested in another thread in the XDA assist ... hummingbad-malware-android-t3484704 .
It could be there is malware hidden behind these applications and I want to find the source of this and remove it. I am not sure how. I have a USB cable, I have mtk droid tools I think on my laptop, I have my phone on developer options.
When I uninstall the applications there seems to be no installation, either this is fake or it uninstalls part of the program and upon reboot calls the apk file responsible which is hidden deep in the phone.
In safe mode and all the other techniques I have not found a solution yet. On google there is a bit but nothing about this specific case and its source.
Any thoughts for those with a bit of experience would be grateful, I will also post this same post in the Sophos Security forum to see if their experts can offer any thoughts, in case anyone else has the same problem as me.

Greetings and welcome to assist. If you just want to remove those apps then there are a couple of very simple ways while you have root. You could just delete the apps with a root browser but the easiest would be to use titanium backup or anything similar to remove the apps
Good Luck

Titanium backup was able to uninstall the applications just like the other methods of uninstallation but after rebooting my phone the 3 applications re-install themselves.
Any other thoughts?

Have you tried to freeze them instead? If you actually know the package names it's easy to delete them with root browser

How do you mean freeze them?
What do you recommend? They cannot be force stopped, only uninstalled.

I just checked Titanium Backup to see if that is what you mean and realised you meant that.
I just checked and it said they can only be frozen in the version you pay/donate money for.
Any other way?
How to I isolate what causes them to be started up in the first place, like using MTK droid tools or something? What command is set by what program to call them to be installed so as to track down the culprit and file causing this problem.
It would help me and others who know not how to deal with it.

If you have root then their is an option in titanium backup to freeze the apps rather than uninstall them. This will prevent the app from starting

This is only available for the paid version. I tried it and I have root access since I allowed Titanium backup to have root facilities with SU User
Any thoughts?
Also how do I find out the reason they are starting up in the first place?
I can simply ignore them after uninstalling hoping my phone does not restart but this does not solve the issue at its core.

The android is upgrading message is probably because the apps have not been removed properly thats all so no do not worry its normal. Using titanium backup you should be able to find the actual name of the app and then actually delete them with a root browser. You can try similar apps to titanium back up like rom toolbox, package disabler or 3c toolbox to see if they can uninstall them or freeze them. It is a very easy thing to fix when you have the phone in front of you but harder to talk you through it unfortunately

Thanks,
I will try the applications you have suggested.
So far Root explorer does not really identify them apart from various folders, Titanium backup does not freeze them unless I donate money.... I would like to but kind of thinking having a limited budget long term to try to scrimp and save here and there.
Will try
Rom toolbox
Package Disabler
3c toolbox
I will let you know how it goes and other options, on top of that what else could I do?
Is there a way to dig deep down in the system and identify the different commands that the system calls up to bring them into installation?

Question Xperia 5 iii experiences?

Hi I have a concern about my next phone purchase (hopefully an Xperia 5 III).
I currently have an Xperia XZ2C that I'm looking to replace.
The main concern/frustration with it is a few pre-loaded apps that I don't want kept trying to load and also update (e.g. Facebook and Sony News)... it took a long while and lots of searching, but Sony was blocking users from uninstalling these and the only option I found was to completely root it, which I don't especially want to do as I'm tryign to leave my daily driver stock... or to mark them as disabled - they stop wasting battery or annoying me with update requests, but still waste storage space.
I mentioned this to a friend who has the Xperia 5 II and apparently this problem has got a lot worse as it now includes mandatory games that cannot be uninstalled (e.g. Call of Duty - which is over 2Gb + 3Gb for the first update!!).
Apparently these apps and games wasted nearly 10% of his phone - more than the entire operating system. Are these apps able to be properly uninstalled on the Xperia 5 III or is this unwanted bloat still stuck on the devices?
I actually like that game, but I'll stick to my PC / consoles.... maybe a tablet at a stretch.... no way I ever want it even installed on my daily driver phone!
Or failing that, I abandon the plans to keep it stock.... So how long before there is a stock+root for this phone? So I can start trying one of those bloatware removers?
I have a 5II, and I can deactivate unused system apps. They don't use that much space once they are deactivated. Also, if you really need them gone, you can always use ADB. It doesn't need root.
How to uninstall carrier/OEM bloatware without root access
If you want to get rid of carrier/OEM apps from your phone, here's how you can uninstall bloatware from your device without root access!

EDIT: Ok, just saw that pm uninstall also needs root if you want to do it for more than user0. Sorry for not realising.
"Ok, just saw that pm uninstall also needs root if you want to do it for more than user0. Sorry for not realising."
This is true but at least it will uninstall it for you the end user. The only way it will show up again is if you do a factory reset. So technically yes it will still be there, but they don't take up that much room and at least they're gone from trying to do anything in the background. Also, if this will not uninstall it, you can also do the command to disable said bloat if you cannot disable it in settings.

Thanks for this - as per Jaseman's comment, this won't FULLY uninstall apps, but it's a great start as some "system" (bloatware) apps can't even be disabled is settings or if disabled will resurrect and re-enable themselves every time there's a system update ("Sony News", GRRRRRR!!!!)..... at least this way if it has something utterly ridiculous on a high-end "professional" phone, like Call Of Duty Warzone, then it will stop it from doing the 4Gb update!

Debloat/Disable System Apps
So you got your new shiny realme device but you hate bloatware or want to disable system apps so you can use 3rd party apps instead? Follow the steps below: THIS DOES NOT REQUIRE ROOT HOWEVER MAKE SURE NOT TO DISABLE IMPORTANT SYSTEM APPS. WIPE...

^ Posted in the Realme 7 forum, but it works on every phone I've used.
Search up "package name viewer" on the Google Playstore to get an app that lets you see the name of packages.
