Can somebody help me please, I tried installing a cab of the HTC Action Screen app from the touch dual on my Herald, after installing I noticed that the top right corner of my screen was not responding to my stylus taps. tried realigning the screen still no joy.
So I uninstalled the app but I still have the screen alignment issue, is there anyway to fix this without a hard reset?
sorry if this is posted in the wrong section as I didnt know if this was just a herald problem or if everybody had this problem?

It could be an old issue with a new device. Back in the day of PPC's it was found that some screen protectors slid under the case of the touch screen causing the screen to not respond appropriately. If you have recently put on a new screen protector or removed one, check the area just beyond the location where it is not responding. You might find something holding the screen down permenantly causing it to not respond. If there is nothing there and none of the things are present, I too am at a loss.
Just an idea.
Did you try a soft reset to remove the remnants of the application you removed?
@Just about right
Dont think it is the screen protector as I have had the same one on since I bought the device (almost a year now) without any problems.
@wovens
yep tried that
Ineterestingly if I open notes and tap the screen I get a dot in the right place, if I tap the top right corner it draws a vertical line downwards from the top right to the bottom. In the meantime what I have done is run the screen alignment, placed the styles in the middle of all '+' except the one in the top right corner. For the one in the top right corner I aimed a little lower than the centre, this allows me to click the X in the top right with the stylus if I aim above the box. not ideal but it will do for now as I dont have the time to reset this week...
2 quick questions, they might be something simple sorry but I dont know how to get this to work.
1) How do you unlock your phone without the stylus? I know if you hold the end call key for 3 secs it locks it but I want to unlock the phone without the stylus. I hate ejecting it so the power goes on and then I can slide my finger on the "Lock Icon" left or right to unlock the phone.
2) How do you change the "Lock" Icon mapping? By that I mean its located at the top and I would like to move it to the bottom or middle. Once somehow automatically it was located in the middle and then I rebooted my phone and it went back to the top again.
I don't understand question 1 are you saying you take the styles out to turn the phone on? why don't you use the power button at the top? Then use your finger when it turns on to unlock it. I will admit i don't use the lock fetcher
But i think i understand the second question to move it to the bottom, go to start/setting/today/Items this will have a list of "icons" you have on the main screen select the Device Lock and move it to the bottom of the list. this should move it to the bottom and you are done.
1) you can unlock your phone without pulling your stylus out. press the power button to turn the screen on and then press unlock on the bottom left softkey followed by the confirmation on the center right side of the screen.
on the otherhand what you're asking for is called S2U (slide to unlock) which is an app the mimicks the iphone's lock interface
2) what mapping are you talking about? on the tf3d where the app tab is at? if so, then you just move it by using diamond tf3d tweak OR manually deleting the app and relocating it to where you want it.
Cool thanks for the help on question 1 I didnt know that.
For question 2 the same thing, do you know when the phone is locked and you have that icon that you have to slide left or right so that you can access the main menu on your phone (has the time, contacts, view messages, email etc.). That little bar that reads slide and has a padlock icon in the middle of it. That little button I want to reallign it in the screen. It happened once but I didnt press or change anything for it to happen, it just did.
Bump .

You might want to look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552024 and specifically this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4482313&postcount=22. It may be that when you aligned the screen you did not accurately tap the center of each cross-hair which is causing problems. You might to try using the stylus and tap clockwise in a small circle to see if your screen responds. If it does, note approximately where you tapped and then try to do an align screen again - this time with the stylus to tap the center of the cross-hairs.
If this does not work, the general answer to your problem is to do a hard reset of your Sunno. Sunnos vary with how the hard reset is done and some users in that thread report not being to do it.
The other option to do a hard reset is somehow go from the Today screen to Settings to System and do the Mass Clear function. The Mass Clear program will effectively restore your ROM to the factory blank state by erasing all the data stored in flash memory.
This means that any data you have stored (contacts, programs, settings, etc.) will be wiped out. At this point, I think that is the least of your worries and you need to do the Mass Clear.
Good luck!
I imagine i have missed something simple, but since i have had my Moto G back the keyboard is different,
I'm missing the long press options for punctuation, the numbers are there but nothing else ?
The phone updated to latest after i got it back , factory reset then installing bits again but then noticed keyboard and cannot find options for this.
I have always used these long press keys and never installed anything extra or changed any settings so this is confusing, i have another 4.4.2 device and they are there on that too.
Has this been removed on Moto G now ? if so any suggestions for free replacement keyboard with long press punctuation ?
They are there, but they aren't indicated anymore. They seem to be grouped together like the bracket symbols. If they can be long pressed, when you long press them there will be "..." in the bottom right corner. I think you can reduce the delay before they show in the settings for the keyboard somewhere.
almost , but i got it now.
I was trying them anyway and they dont work , like for example i think 'K' was for ? , but it does nothing.
The point on the dots ... was spot on though , any key with options has them at bottom right - all your basic punctuation is under the full stop key . , hold it down and you can select .?!:",# which is actually better, just have to get used to it.
I guess this change came with the latest moto g firmware, i cant see anything on change log though.... https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/98313/action/auth
Thanks for the hint eastdata.
No worries.
I'm trying to wrap it around my head too. I couldn't find the "<>" symbols.
Thanks for the link, I didn't realize that the OTA was a free download.
[FRP] Android 5.1 FRP Vulnerability I Found
I just found this UI bug/vuln when freestyling trying ways to bypass FRP on an old HTC Desire 626 here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/general/frp-htc-desire-626-verizon-prepaid-t3942397
It would be great to see others give it a run for it's money on their 5.1 devices so we can know how widespread this is and what else it will work on. It's old yes but I haven't seen anyone come across it yet.
Whats Needed:
-Tiny bit of time
-Quick Fingers
NOTE-> If going through [Recent Apps] -> *Settings* -> *Screen Pinning* does not allow you to backup into settings.. Then select the other option *Running Apps* and backup into settings using it. Reason i say this is because I have found if i do not go in the order i describe below then backing up into settings from after screen pinning it won't backup into settings unless i select *Running Apps* and go back from there.
Enable accessibility by holding 2 fingers on the homescreen, when enabled, draw an L shape starting at the top of the screen. At the top right you will see a half circle that says [Talkback Settings]. Press this and then follow through to the Talkback Settings. Using two fingers touch the screen and move up with your fingers to scroll the screen now scroll down until you see *Talkback suspend and resume* and enable this. Make a backwards L swipe. Swipe out from the right far over to the left side almost to the edge then up to the top. Make sure you swipe the line over for the bottom of the L shape almost over to the other side of the screen before you draw up with it. You might have to do it a few times and play around with your starting point up and down the right side of the screen and over in the middle close to the edge of the screen where you go back up the screen. You will get it eventually. Now press both volume buttons to disable Talkback. You should now be in Recent Apps and at the top right will be 3 dots. Select these and press [Settings] and enable *Screen Pinning* then press back until you get into Settings then go down to [Backup and Reset] and click on this then [Reset Phone].. Now here is where it gets fun! We are going to quickly bypass Android 5.1's protection disabling the ability to press the *OK* button you see at the bottom. You are going to want to go back a screen to start. Next press on [Reset Phone] and now with your right thumb quickly hit OK and as soon as you do this you will see where the box pops up and know where the OK button on it is. So position your right thumb or w/e finger you can press with quickly over the area where the *OK* would be or remember the spot and go back a screen and repeat the process. Eventually because of doing this the system will slow down some and the box will stay longer so you've more time to click *OK*. You will see it works if you do it quick enough.
Bingo. Done. Phone will restart completely reset and you have now bypassed FRP.
Please post your results and let us all know if it worked on your device!
