Question Flip 3 Cover screen Call notifications - Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

Hi, got mine on Saturday and noticed one thing: The cover screen doesn't show an incoming Whatsapp voice or video call. You can only answer telephone calls from the cover directly via loudspeaker. Same for duo. I can't access a call from the cover screen. Can anybody confirm this behavior? Not even showing the Whatsapp ones is really annoying... I am lucky that my Garmin is connected and at least will show it on the watch

What carrier do you have? what Software version : Settings> About phone >Software information (last 4 digist of Built number) ? Do you have the latest version of Whatsapp and Duo?

I am a user in Germany. Using "Deutsche Telekom". Haven't received an software update yet, still on XXU1AUG7. Apps are always up to date.

But I will also attach the SPSV.

@Cris7ianO CSC as in region of your phone, usually it's DBT for Germany. What you show me is firmware csc, but OK. Whatever you say.

No problem. Then we were just talking about different things . Got the device as a preorder from Samsung's German website. Unfortunately no DBT to be found. But how does this have anything to do with the issue?
Don't you experience the issues mentioned above and the cover screen shows the incoming call notifications for Whatsapp and Duo?

I wanted to compare csc with mine, because it's seems not OK. That's why I said please. You can find region CSC if you look at my screenshot. About your problem, no, it doesn't show calls from the apps you mention on my phone either.

Notification's issue on this beautiful device

I got mate 8 (Chinese version) about a week ago and it's an amazing device but it has a major issue with receiving notifications!!! Having an amazing phone with such major issue is like having a BMW with Toyota engine!!! Has anyone find any solution to this issue?

Hi there. I got the same problem (chinese version) Try to allow Auto start, keep wlan and mobile data on during sleep, allow app to run on backround and change the power plan to performance and let us know if it worked for you. Mine didnt work tho

Do you also have problem with the google maps? It cant determinate the location on wlan and netowrks. Only if i switch on the GPS.

Hi at all in the general page of Huawei Mate 8 in this forum speak that the problem isn't the Mate 8 but new version of Android, and change same option solve this problem, try to see it
Update from the new firmware B137 for AL-10. It seems the push notifications for FB messenger, whatsapp are working better now but gmail and viber doesnt. You still need to open the viber app to get the messeges or turn on the screen to get the emails... Tested after restarting phone and left it on sleep mode without opening any of the apps. Battery mode set on perfomance. If set on smart doesnt work. But the problem comes back if you free up the memory.
The other problem with google map still remains. It cant determinate your possition on network and wlans (battery saving mode) only if you switch to gps (high accuaracy)
B137 Update
I just updated to the B137 update, and I was able to get notifications from viber, twitter but not from whatsapp or snapchat so therefore I decided to update whatsapp via the hi app as it had an update. I updated it and after was then not able to receive any notifications from viber or twitter either. I deleted the whatsapp and re installed it again from the one in play store and was able to get twitter and viber notifications back again which was strange but i am still unable to get notifications from whatsapp and snapchat. ive checked permissions and notification settings between the four apps and they are all the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

And now i get no notifications from any app until i open up the app; such a good phone but such a same it has such a huge bug :/
The L29 does not have notification issues.
Sucks that only the AL10 has this issue :/

Call audio being routed to watch

I'm having some trouble with by Gear S3.
For some reason, every time someone calls me and I pick up on my phone, the audio comes through the watch which is a bit crazy. If I'm picking up from my phone, I want the audio on it (obviously).
I haven't found a setting that will specify to always use my phone for calls.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I'm on a Moto X Pure.
I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it.
I did a soft reset on the watch and when it reconnected I went into the Gear app on the phone, Settings, Call Forwarding and hit Turn off.
Make sure it says call forwarding was successfully turned off.

Thats strange.
Maybe your gear software needs to be updated? Also try a hard reset of the watch.
There should also be a call forwarding setting on the watch that will allow you to disable it.

This is what I have and I have everything updated :S
Same issue on my pixel. Go to Bluetooth settings on your phone, choose s3 and uncheck phone audio.

I get the same strange think when i'm making the call from my phone (HTC m8) the audio output it 1st set to phone then when the recipient answer's the audio output changes to the watch by it self. It works find if i'm not making the call
I had the same issue when I first started using the watch for me a simple reset of the watch worked.

Turn the wacht off , press and hold the lower button on the right. After that same procedure to turn it on.

Sorry for late reply my friend I just went to main setting direct on the each, then find about gear option down click "reset gear"
I'm using a s7 edge with mine on the beta 7.0 but I still had same issue as you have described

well that's a bummer, if the samsung s7 can't make the watch work as a normal smartwatch whats the point...u can't have your watch pickup the audio if your using your phone it's just not normal.
So it has nothing to do whit samsung or non samsung phone it's just dose not work? It's a bug not a defective smartwatche?

Well mine was just a bug I think because after one quick reset I'm up and running g without fault.
I have the same issue you all describe at this thread when I use Gear S3 (Bluetooth edition) with HTC 10.
It happens when I make calls from the phone. Once the other person answer the call, the audio automatically is routed to the watch.
In all other cases the watch works ok. eg. If someone call me and I answer on the phone the audio is not routed to the watch. If I use the watch to make or accept calls, work fine as well.
Did anyone find a solution to this?

Did you manage to solve this?
As I mentioned above I have the same issue with HTC 10.
A possible solution would be to disable the "phone audio" from the bluetooth settings of the device, but in my case this cause the gear s3 to be disconnected from the phone.
It is so annoying.

Call Log display help

Hi. The Call Log, if the contact is on my contact list, displays the Contact Name and below the Country/City instead of the Phone Number that was used to call me or the one i called. If the contact is not in my Contact List, it displays the Contact Number and below the Country/City.
Is there any way to change the setting in the first situation to display the Contact Name and below the Phone Number used? I prefer a solution without the use of a third party app. Phone is on android 7 / Emui 5.0.1

Try by going on contacts -> click on the 3 dots for settings and check if you notice some strange there. Plus, provide more info about your phone. You updated it OTA or by Firmware Finder? What's your phone build?

Checked the options in dots, nothing relative to change this setting. I upgraded through Settings->System Update and after that did a Restore Factory Settings. Anyway the Call Log worked the same as now before the update to Android 7 / Emui 5.0.1 (phone shipped with Android 6). The build now is BLN-L21C432B365.

I'm on the build just before the B365 (B360) and i never see this on Nougat nor on Marshmallow. Maybe it's related to a configuration of your SIM card?
For me, it shows the name and number (if contact is in my list). I am on China variant of Honor 6X and I dont get the location inforamtion.

That shouldn't be related with Sim config. Something to do with Phone display, incall UI to be precise.

I thought it could be, but if this was right it could have an impact only on contacts stored on SIM card, not phone. I'll try to look for a solution tomorrow

One idea; try to go on settings -> advanced settings -> language and input, then check if the actual language (and region) matches your country language. I thought this because once i changed that from italian to english, and noticed that it changes not only the language but even some voices on phone's menus. I'm almost sure that this will fix the issue. If neither that'll works, I'll look for something else

Anyway i checked other forums and actually IT COULD be telco's fault, take in consideration the idea to ask them if they know something about this issue.

I wish there is any permission thing for this and you could block the location access for dialer but its not there i looked for all permission to help you but no luck
Just received an answer from Huawei. They said it works as intended and sadly there is no option to change it. At least i hope they will add an option to choose to display phone number or location, in their next Emui upgrade which i hope will come until the end of the year alongside Android 8.0

I flashed CSC selections 930k csc cracking sound problem fixed.
But i want to fix this issue without changing csc. Is there any other fix for this issue
Because in Korean CSC dialpad spaces 3 digits. One sender sms showed 2 in sms app. One shows with country code one shows without country code.
That what i want to change Korean CSC.

Also, I would recommend you place a call with another SIM card inserted and check if the problem is not because of the card.

Android Auto doesn't work

Hi,
Android Auto on my Jeep Renegade doesn't work properly with Realme X50 Pro.
When phone screen is off, Android Auto on my car goes off.
When i turn on screen phone, Android Auto on my car work fine.
any fix?

just an update: under developer options i can choose "never sleep while charging". It works, but not really a fix.
I think its more RealmeUI/ColorOS' aggressive background app killing. Try to disable all the power saving options related to the auto app, allow it to run in background (not their "smart background" mode) etc

I have exactly the same problem with my Realme X50 Pro (EU Version). I tried to turn off different battery optimization settings but i couldn't configure the Android Auto app specifically since it is a system app.
Is there a HOWTO to turn off all battery saving options in Realme UI?
No issues for me. But I did turn off the smart power optimization for Android Auto and also turned off App Quick Freeze for all apps. I have the CN variant.

Do you have the option to turn quick freeze on/off for Android Auto? I can't see Android Auto in this list. Probably because it's a system app in Android 10 (with GApps).

TradingShenzen, and BangGood have the EU version, and you can order it directly from Amazon.es
I have the Chinese version myself and regret not waiting.

Overall it's pretty good. The CN ROM is better than I thought it would be. I honestly can't tell that in in it. There's no Chinese language anywhere.
I do have a few issues.
1. I use Google messages and replacing the stock messages app with this was a bit tricky. Needed to use ADB to disable the stock app. Then and only then, can I set Google messages as default. However, every time a message comes in, I get a pop up telling me that so security reasons I should use the default app. Annoying but something I can live with.
2. I do not get notifications from certain apps. I guess this phone has a very aggressive battery management and as a result not all apps run in the background to give push notifications. This could be phone specific and not variant specific.
3. I use a mileage tracking app called MileIQ. This app is currently not working as it needs access to my Physical Activity. However, it does not show up under the app permission for me to grant it. Also, when I check the Physical Activity settings, the app does not show there either.
That's about it for issues.

Thank you very much for detailed info , having considered all , I like vivo Neo 3 better , and it is a bit cheaper as well , it doesn't have 66 band for TMobile but it should be ok in most places
I'm facing the same problem on my X50 EU version and it's quite annoying. Is there maybe any hidden activity, adb command or anything else to fix this?

If you download the latest Patch A22 the Problem will be solved. You can download it AT realmeupdater.com
