Hello dear XDA forum friends, I have one question, I was Apple user for a long time and I got Galaxy s10e.
Its a nice phone but it dont work well on Android 11, battery drain fast, phone is to hot and more and more..
I was wondering if I can downgrade it back to 9 or at least 10?
Long time ago I remember I used to flash custom ROMS and downgrade old Android phones but looks like now if they lock Bootloader you stack where you are.
So here are some infos:
One UI Version 3.1
Android 11
Baseband Version G970FXXSBFUE6
Kernel Version 4.14.113-21644994
Build number RP1A.200720.012.G970FXXSBFUF3
Knox 3.7 API level 33 TIMA 4.1.0 DualDAR 1.3.0
Service provider software version SAOMC_SM-970F_ODX_CRO_RR_0008 CRO/DHR,CRO/CRO
Welcome to XDA
Congratulations on ditching the sour Apple.
Post on that device's forum for best results.
The firmware you have probably also upgraded the boot loader version which may make it impossible to down grade. I'm have zero experience flashing these so I may be mistaken or a workaround.
Try a factory reset unless you already have after the upgrade or if you used SmartSwitch to transfer data from another model.
I've tried to downgrade even an Exynos phone- sadly Odin couldn't do it due to bootloader
Nope, the last update that would have allowed you to downgrade to Android 10 came out back in February

Hello everybody, new user here.
I'm somewhat familiar with the root process for devices, though I still consider myself a noob. I bought the phone when i first came out and there wasn't simple root out at the time, so i waited some time and mostly just forgot about it when i had the time to do it. Of course the noob in me, decided to keep updating my device in the mean time. Well, this morning i had decided to look into it again again and, from what I've read, there doesn't seem to be a working root out for the device at the moment. Build 3 eliminated to ability to downgrade from Oreo, if I am not mistaken, and I'm currently stuck on the latest update from AT&T.
My Software information is as follow; Android Oreo 8.0.0, Samsung Experience 9.0, Build Number R16NW.G955USQS3CRE2, KNOX 3.0, Kernel Version 4.4.78, and Security Patch Level May 1st, 2018(AT&T).
Ive been looking around for a little while now, but if anyone has some information to help out thatd be great.

This phone is a cast iron ***** in the current bootloader version.. Look at oreo beta thread around page 174.. & Read carefully.. Looks promising but be careful.
I have a honor kiw-l21 phone it has build kiw-l21c432b350 on emui 4.0 android 6.0.1. the thing is i need to update the version of android, since my banking app no longer supports android versions lower than 7. i have searched your site for a version of android that is 7 or grater. is there an official version to meet my requirement. I noticed that there is is a develeper version called lineageOS 17.1 is that my only solution or is there an official one i can use.
Updates get automatically rolled out by OEM/carrier if they consider it necessary.
What you mean is to upgrade your existing Android. This is never done by OEM/carrier.
IMO to upgrade to Android version 7 or higher you have to flash a corresponding Custom ROM like LineageOS.
But I may err, as always ...

You need to use test point method that needs opening your phone's back cover and that is kinda a pain for noobs. Need some research on your phone.

Cheers, I was hoping that Honor/huawei might have brought a newer version of EMUI out, I did update it when EMUI 4 came out, that update was from android 5 to 6.
Greetings!
It has been more than 7 years since I used Odin to re-install android 4.1.2 to my Samsung GT I8552 phone (I have ever since moved on to iPhone) By then android 4.1.2 was the latest. Now that time has changed and tech has grown, Can I do a clean installation of the LATEST android version (I checked and there is 6 and even 8++??) to this same old phone? Is Odin still the way to go? Please guide.
PS: I checked this link and it shows that the latest update was in 2015 and the latest version is still 4.1.2? I'm not clear what it means to this old model.
Thank you.
Update and Upgrade are 2 totally different things:
Update patches an existing Android version
Upgrade replaces an existing Android version by a higher versioned one
Look inside here to find out what are the minumun hardware requirements for an Android version and compare them to your phone:
What are the minimum hardware specifications for Android?
As per the title, what hardware do I need to be able to run various versions of Android?

You are right. And, I meant to say "upgrade"
How to downgrade Samsung 21+ devices from One UI 4.0 (Android 12) to One UI 3.1 (Android 11) via Odin.
I'm looking for the same answer. It's been a long time.. Like 8-10 years since I've rooted or modified a Samsung phone through Odin..
Idk if I can just download the android 11 firmware, unlock bootloader, and flash in Odin or if I first need root access..
Android 12 blows
Yes please. Android 12 is atrocious.
Edit: It's downgradeable ez pz. Just download the latest Android 11 and flash via Odin. I have the Exynos version.
is android 12 really that bad? im using HK set, so no update for me yet.

I'd wait for a few more iterations before upgrading, so they smoothen things out a bit. The interface will stay ugly tho. "Material you" or whatever it's called is the most atrocious thing ever, especially the dark theme. I'll never upgrade to 12, I already disabled the automatic updates.
I have Android 12 and I didn't find much difference from Android 11 in my normal use, just some little bugs on 12 but that's it.

Hi, so i'm considering to update my s10e from android 10 to 12, however i'm seeing a lot of you guys wanting to downgrade from 12 to 11 or even 10.. my phone is not rooted and i'm not planning on rooting it so locked bootloader is not a problem for me, my question is what makes you want to downgrade? is there any stability issues or any issues on android 12? i know getting my phone updated to android 12 were close to irreversible so i need to know the reasons not to update.. i already downgrade from android 11 to 10 because i dont like the icon scaling on oneui 3. thanks for any input and help you guys have
